Free "WizTree" is great (portable version available too). https://antibody-software.com/web/

The same publisher gave us the excellent WinExt Pro 8.0 as a GAOTD back in July 2018 which I am currently using and which does much of the same thing and :
+ Find Duplicate Files
+ Quickly Find the Larger Resources
+ See More Information of Recently Accessed Resources
+ Monitor Windows Activity
You can still download a free copy of WinExt at (https://www.trisunsoft.com/we/)

If you intend to use it like what the software developer described in its website under (?Usage), then it would be much better to use a proper File Manager. Such as Total Commander or its various excellent free alternatives.
It is NOT portable. I have used past versions. I know.
I do not install or use this software now.
It writes entries into to your PC registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\RemoteAccess\Parameters\1treepro]
Take note that this is to Remote Access.
If you want to see your files sorted by size, do check out
FolderSize by RoteBeta (Free & portable)
Another software of the same name FolderSize by MindGems is a Paid software. It is not free.
There are many other freeware alternatives.

ricohflex, Be careful with the suggestion from @ricohflex to use FolderSize by Rotebeta.

That software has been discontinued. Also, RoteBeta has given up its URL and website. If you Google RoteBeta, you'll find a listing for rotebeta.com, but if you click that link it will take you to a questionable site.

I am surprised by the comments: although I did not test this version, I use it for years (free version and Pro v2.x) and have always been happy with it.

Installation

Unzip the package you've downloaded and start the software by running 1Tree Pro.exe,
then register the software using the registration key provided.
-----

It looks like it's a 'portable' file and doesn't install. If this is the case, please change the README.TXT file to reflect to copy the 'folder' to another location.

I just had to kill the 'program'... all it was doing was 'checking system resources', and it was affecting my whole system.

Will try again later tonight but may remove it. (Still never 'installed').

Same problem here: "Checking system resources" and hangs PC.

Another one of those products that have less features than the free alternatives. The user interface looks like it's from early 2000's. Some of the icons themselves are mismatched as if someone searched google images and took icons from different sets/artists.

I will never support a company that copies a free product, makes a poorer job of it, and wants money for it..

It's beautiful :-P
I can give credit to your website in About dialog if you want.

Tarun, not sure if you're joking since I have no plans to install this GOTD offer, but here is a URL for that icon: https://findicons.com/icon/44234/tree

Kurt, I don't plan to install this either. :-P It was for the first time that I saw such a beautiful tree icon after Microsoft's tree icon in shell32.DLL
I am glad you gave me the direct link to it. Awesome! And Thankyou so much! :-D :-D

Tarun, I like this tree icon better... more realistic:

Folder Size (freeware) is a great tool too:

Tarun, WinDirStat is good (open source) but slow, compared to Treesize (not this program, but the one made by Jam Software). Treesize doesn't work across networks/NASes though, but is very fast on local drives.

Reply   |   Comment by Woody Woodness  –  4 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+14)

Woody Woodness, TreesizeFree DOES work across networks/NASes though not always. I have two drives mapped to a NAS and another drive mapped to a Humax DVR and I can list them with TreesizeFree but only if first done from the details pane in Windows Explorer and not from the navigation pane.

Easy to configure.

Works well, has drag and drop ease.

Nice program.

Thanks GOTD.
