Dear users,

If you are having issues installing the software, please make sure to extract the contents of the archive before launching Setup.exe

You may also try to disable your anti-virus software temporarily and run the Setup.exe file as Administrator, as some of the anti-virus suites might be blocking the installation due to a false positive.

If you are still having issues with the installation process, please, feel free to contact our support team at giveaway[at]giveawayoftheday.com

So far this is one of the better tagging and mp3 programs I have downloaded. Plus once u get messing around with it pretty user friendly.
Just make sure when installing if u want english make sure that's selected because the first time I installed the German version lmao!

Does this program allow you to cut out the front or back of the file?

Win 7 Home 64 bit. AVG virus turned off while running with full Administrator privileges. Multipliable attempts, would not install.

I'm old and just learning a computer. I want to be sure it will connect to my iTunes program, would I have to do anything to get that connection between the two?

Reply   |   Comment by Paula  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Paula
It does not "connect" to iTunes; but changes it makes to your aduio files are compatible with iTunes. I believe iTunes can do most of what this program does: rip CDs, convert files to MP3, play MP3,edit tags. Is there something you wish to do that iTunes can't? (I'm not an iTunes user ...)

I've used this many times in the past, found it very useful. The ability to acquire song lyrics on-mass is great.
Thanks GOTD ! :)

looks good, but stopped at 1500 entries. Is this a limit imposed by the giveaway version? (W10 x64 Pro system)

Reply   |   Comment by stewl  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-1)

sorry - ignore the above comment - I made a new library and it found all the files. I believe the problem came from my trying to use the system for other tasks while the program was scanning the MP3 solder & subfolders. All is good.

Be aware that this program connects to the internet when you open it. There is no way you can turn this off in "options" so you have to use your firewall exclusion function if you want to stop it. The program will open without connecting.

I think this will be when you not turn off the option to "help to build a internet-database" (second option in general)?

Another possible reason for the software connecting to the internet is to perhaps check for updates to the software. Many programs given away here have such a feature, and unless indicated that updates are free, I recommend turning off any "auto-update" feature to prevent loss of the full version of the software given away here. (I've lost many good software titles that reverted to their "trial" versions due to not turning off "auto-update."

Just sayin...

Yes, needs to, otherwise no cover pics, no lyrics.
Beware your browser also connects to the internet (just joking).

I had to lower my firewall and turn off my Antivirus, but I got it to install. First run through it is nice but feels a bit unfinished. For instance, while playing a song, if you double click on a different song, it crashes the player instead of just slipping into the 2nd song and playing it.

Your statement just goes to show how different user experience can be.
No problem with security suite nor with player crash.

Easy installation/activation on Win 10 64Bit. System language automatically proposed and with the usual small imperfections of translation perfectly understandable.
Library search was fault-free, straight away asked for.

Don't know what others find odd or not functioning, works best, as is typical of such software, by right mouse click on Windows.
My "home tagger" of all times has been and probably will be "mp3tag" from http://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html
I cannot say at this point whether Zortam just took over the previously gathered info or added the lyrics info during playback, suffice to say that Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven came up with it.
A common problem in my case arbitrarily chosen, a Bach hymn from the Matthew's Passion (wer hat dich so geschlagen) lyrics were not found.

But as an mp3 player with extended features I would certainly rate Zortam well above what 5 million winner Win 10 came with.
So I say - thank you dear GOTD team - as far as I'm concerned it is lucky Tuesday.

Anyone who has a lot of MP3s will have both Tagscanner and MP3Tag on their system, because they are both gems. I have had both (as portable apps) for years, and I still don't think I've decided on a favorite...

thx for the suggestion !
However I will faithful to the home product because the lad who made it available included so many features, improved it all the time, and what's more has had it going sind 2001.

Don't understand why the user rating is so high when almost all comments about this program are NEGATIVE.

If the program works like it's supposed to for the majority of the people who try it, maybe they don't feel the need to make a comment? The site would be quickly overrun if everyone who tried it and liked it posted a positive comment. "The squeaky wheel gets the oil?"

will not launch tried everything, installed ok, tried run both regular and as administrator, click on it in the main directory and nothing happens. could there be remnants from an old (3-4 years old) install keeping it from running?
Thank you

Installed fine on win10 64 bit, however, get 'not responding' (eventually) after trying to import media from itunes (which it requests that you do). It may not like the size of my music collection, who knows, but tried three times, same happens during each attempt to import, I am only using windows defender not a third party antivirus, so this should not be a blocking issue. I hope Zortam continues to contribute in the future for our consideration, I do have a software which already performs this task well, I won't mention it here, as I don't believe this encourages future submissions. Kind regards. Andy.

There's something wrong with the menu resources. Let's see if I can explain this. If you hold the ALT key down and tap F it doesn't go into File We can see the menu shortcut keys were setup cause of the underlines when holding the ALT key down you see underlined F V M T and H
File | View | Mp3 Tagging | Tools | Help . HOWEVER they appear to be munged somehow, perhaps editing with a resource editor? theoretically ALT-F-X should Exit the program, but you will notice the sub menu under File has an F94 to the right of the eXit (which has an X for it's shortcut key)

If I was put on the programming I would go through all the menu resources looking for errors in Index, HelpContextID, and Shortcut perhaps the wrong Indexes are getting to the wrong shortcuts? Some hotkeys work others not so much. ;o) all in all I would say a big mess if you wanted to try going with a keyboard for brevity. Thank god the mouse works ~

Nice giveaway nevertheless.
peace amigos...

Installed OK on Windows 7 x64, and registered OK, (see the help folder, registers to GOTD20 automatically).

It looks very good with numerous options, but go online first to read the basics, as I pointed it at my music folder first and tried it out, but online it warns you to prepare a test folder with music in it first to practice and learn using it, as it does alter tags and stuff. I did not save on exit,, so I think nothing has changed.
The Zplayer crashed at some point, leaving the standard Windows message, so I suspect there are some bugs in it, so unless you can update it, which I suspect would invalidate the registration conditions, I would need to know how stable it is before committing my music folder to it again, and find what caused the crash, and if my music database is safe, though of course it is backed up ;0)

It does look a very flexible program, lots of options, so I will keep it for a while and see how it performs.
