It's a great program - easy to use even without reading the 'how to'. However, the evaluation popup is on the finished product. Anyone else have this problem? Thanks, Pat

Within minutes of install was able to create a quick simple demo. I found it very intuitive and easy to use.

This is just what I need - I have a computer illiterate father who is always bugging me on how to accomplish complex tasks on his laptop ( like how to search with google) - Now I am just going to burn some demos onto a cd and give him that. I found it really useful that you can add a voiceover, descriptive text boxes and navigation buttons to pause/repeat/continue the demo. Thanks GOTD

This is JUST the type of program I've been looking for...

For those of you who are tired of seeing the same programs over and over again, just remember that at one time these were new to you. I only found this site last week and have wondered if this type of program would ever be offered. Newbies keep finding this site and this is a first time for them. So quit complaining and realize that this is new and useful for someone out there....

Thanks to GOTD repeating programs, not everyone gets them the first time around.....

Sometimes the best part about visiting GAOTD is not the software they're offering, but the free alternatives suggested by GAOTD users in the comments section!

Thanks for letting us know about Camtasia. I have TechSmith's SNAGIT, and it's the best! I've been wanting Camtasia for some time.

Oh yeah, thanks for DemoCreator, GAOTD! I'll dl it anyway and give it a try, but I think my mind's already made up! Keep the Wondershare titles coming, though. So far their stuff has been great!

For those who have the old version, you will have a problem if you did not clean the registry. Google Revo Uninstaller and use this to clean the registry. It worked for me.

Demo creator is great. I love the way it creates instant files..but... I also have a problem with programs that seem to be TRANSLATED into English. Spelling, improper grammar are a total turn-off. Sorry... I'm an English major at college. But it really irks me when I see major errors in the documentation and help files. "Recent" is not spelled resent. To, two and too are three different words with three different meanings. They, They're and there are phonetically the same, as are night and knight, and many others. There is no way to translate from an automatic translator so some of these very good programs lose out because of the documentation.

Never allow a programmer to write the help files or the documentation. Always pull a person off the street and let them lose on the program for two days to write it. Both programming an users will benefit.

My only gripe...the program itself is great, but I REALLY HATE grammar and spelling errors.

I usually am able to activate and install all of the GAOTD programs, but this is a toughie! I activated with no problem, but when I go to "run as" in the context menu, and select administrator, I am told that I cannot run it with a blank password. So I run the setup regularly and it begins to install. It returns a registry access error, which I had to ignore, and the program installs. However, when I run the program and select an option, the program disappears and does not show up in Task Manager. I guess I just have to give up on this one. The worst part is that I uninstalled the previous version to install this one and now I don't have either. Oh well, easy come, easy go! :^)

@ Old School
Actually, if you read the license agreement, you can't show the contents of the software to anyone else. So... You could show yourself how to use it but no one can show you how to use it, nor can you show anyone how to use it. That has got to be the strangest thing I have ever heard of in a license agreement. So, yes, you can show yourself how to use DemoCreator, but no one else! (Unless you buy the business version? I guess?)

A few things... First, thanks to GAOTD and Wondershare for letting us experience software we never normally would.

I'm a big fan of RoboDemo, which then became Captivate. I still use it on my work boxes. The good thing about Captivate is that yuo can export to .fla, which is necessary if you are authoring a demo/instructional/whatever in flash. It is very awkward to run flash in flash, and logistically painful for users to run flash _from_ flash. I would love to have seen an export to .fla in the pro (or any) version, as Adobe is taking it's time updating Captivate.

I did not put this through it's paces, but it looks like a great value at $69USD if it behaves as advertised. It will certainly give Captivate a run for it's money, which is at $400USD now, right?

One thing that was odd was that the player for the .exe export is v8.

Great job in manual mode, which is what you really end up using once you realize you can't do much with a long recording!

Again thatnks to all!

Reply 48 & 50,

About how to insert .swf file to powpoint, both powerpoint 2003 and 2007 support inserting .swf to the slideshow. Maybe you can have a look at this tutorial of how to insert flash file to Powerpoint. It's very easy to do it!

http://www.sameshow.com/other/insert-flash-into-powerpoint-2007.html

And also there is a sample of inserting the software demo created by DemoCreator to the powerpoint as following link:

You may have a look!

Amazing! I found that there is a "Commercial License Offer only for GOTD Users" on their website, just click on the button "30% OFF for GOTD Users" on the top right corner of DemoCreator Interface, you will go to the commercial license offer page.

Didn't download this one, but thought I'd mention that Techsmith is giving away Camtasia Studio 3 from their website.

Grab a free trial version of Camtasia Studio 3 here:

http://download.techsmith.com/camtasiastudio/enu/312/camtasiaf.exe

Then head on over to here and fill in your name, country
and e-mail address. Techsmith will send you the software
key to unlock the program.

http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia/pcpls.asp

Install the program and enter the key you received from Techsmith.
Now you have a fully working version of Camtasia Studio 3.

It's a great deal (free) on the best screen capture software.

Enjoy!

Feel free to thank me :)

#8, like all GAOTD programs, there are no technical upgrades etc... the version which they are selling in that 30% off is bassed on that fact, upgrades and technical support... Now the 30 day trial, you should try reistering it again...

Hello:

Re: Camtasia

For those who want to get version 3 of Camtasia (see comments #13 and #27), I found that the registration key page only worked after I put in both a FIRST and LAST name on the "Name" line.

I had previously turned on cookies and turned off Web Washer with no luck.

I just wish they would include a key or something with it. I got really annoyed because a virus made it so I had to clear my computer, and I lost all my giveaways.... if they came with a key, then at least you wouldn't lose them. It isn't like your pirating, you would have used it regardless. I know some have the keys with them.... but ones like this don't seem to.

Having just downloaded this and briefly tried it, I must say I am really impressed. Tickled pink would be a better description. I often give guidance to friends on how to fix problems they have with their PCs saying "Press this button" on the top left of your screen, etc. This programme lets me show them graphically what to do with very little effort on my part. I found it very intuitive using it the first time. My friends will think I am some kind of genius the first time they get one of these from me. Of course, I am, now that I've got this programme. Great one, GOTD.

Just a note: installed perfecrly on XP but will not activate in Vista. I've never had a problem activating GAOTD products (I only choose to try about 2 - 3 a month that might be useful to me). Three tries on vista, first two installed, but did not activate -- just the trial. Third time did not intall at all because the previous uninstall did not remove all files -- I did get a warning of this when uninstalling though. Will probably just instal Camtasia on this machine. Thanks to the reviewer above for ltting us know about the free version of Camtasia. I have a paid version on a very old machine and liked it then. I will try this on the XP.

Thank you developers and GAOTD for making these programs available here!

This would be a very nice product if not for it being Adware (ad sponsored software). I thought GAWOTD proclaims NO SPYWARE OR ADWARE.
Furthermore, the File that the program "pushes you to install" each time you access "help" is a File often associated with Trojan Infection.

No way I need any program by Wondershare after this experience.

Here #51 again: Following #52 suggestion -- On Vista: R-click to run as admin BOTH activate and Setup -- seems to work. Weird, since yesterday's GAOTD (installer) when OK without the 'run as admin' thing.

.. Using Vista Biz in one Dell.

It may be dirty, but it certainly isn't quick. It's a memory hog, and I quit after 5 minutes when it was only 18% of the way through of converting the slideshow for the demo. I do need something to create screentop demos, but this isn't it.

Downloaded, installed, with no problems. I like it. created a quick and dirty demo and viewed the results easy enough. The demo reflected to quick and dirty, but like as with every thing else, I'm sure that planning and editing will result in a professional result.
A moment on the soap box... Respectfully; many need to learn to take a moment and read everything presented to them. Many seem to latch on certain words and draw false conclusions. That 30% off was nothing more than a value added offer to GAOTD users. Sheesh. ;)

Uninstalled Democreator, and re-ran both activate.exe and setup.exe, right-clicking as administrator ... everything's fine now.

Installation woes:

I can confirm that even following the instructions
in the Readme (the usual: run activate first, then
the setup) there are problems in MS Vista: it seems
that only a 30-day version trial is installed. I also
did the install in an MS XP system without problems.

Any clues GAOTD?

As for #48, important note if you plan to use DemoCreator to embed videos of screen techniques in presentations. Older versions of PPT do not support .swf files. PPT 2007 WILL support .swf files.

Just curious how many times is this going to be offered???

It is a great product and very easy to use, I have used it to create demos on how to use computer programs and emailed them to friends, easier for them to follow directions and they don't have to have the DC program to view it!

Very simple to use, creating professional looking results. Mouse movements are crisp, cleaning out extraneous movements and allowing you to "touch up" after for precise button-hits onscreen. Note that DemoCreator is not a continuous video capture but a slide capture program. It snaps slides only when there is mouse or keyboard activation. For many applications that is fine, particularly if demonstrating a technique, but not if your goal is to show the action of the program itself (ie: animations, automatic highlighting in a screen reader, or mouse movements in a dwell activated program). Those who want more ability to show screen animations or the exact path of the mouse might prefer CamStudio.

Maybe its because I'm running an older version of PowerPoint, but links to the .swf files created by DemoCreator won't open the videos in my presentations. Does anyone know if its function correctly in PPT '07?

There is a very good freeware alternative for this one called wink.

However, their homepage seems to be removed.
Anyway you can still download wink here: http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlWink.html

wink lets you create flash, http, pdf etc. presentations adding sound and so on. you can record on events, framerates etc. You can produce very small flash animations because 2 screen shots are enough for wink, to compute automatically the animation of the mouse cursor between the 2 screen shots.

wink requires GTK 2.4 to be installed to work.

There is just one thing, I don't like much about wink. Wink cannot
emphasize mouse clicks automatically in the created animations.
