If you have 2 internal hard drives on your computer, would it be recommended to install on both as you can not restore (at least not recommended) the HD that this program is installed on...? Thanks for advice.

* installed ok on my windows HP 64 bit system, after that its same song 7th verse", by which I mean the thing starts up just fine but it seems every recovery software manufacturer that has presented itself on GOTD uses graphical interfaces and my screen reader can't see them; rendering the things mostly inaccessible if not totally unworkable to me and therefore useless.

as I said, it installed fine to the point where I started it and tried to register it, and .... no locatable way to get past that first screen(to my screen reader)
I tried moving the mouse cursor to the words about registering , clicked each, double clicked each, tried menu's, tried apps key, tried closing the current window [control and f4] and nothing I can do will remove the start screen or reveal how to get to the main and/or registration window.

*^^&&&@@@#$#$#$~~~!
just be glad I am not a ADA lawyer or one of those who seek out those who are non-compliant and then figure out how to sue them blind before they get a chance to fix things!

someone want to make a nice tidy sum of money, make a recovery application that is as useful as 7-Data Recovery Suite, make it work on Mac, windows, and android OS's, and has a standard "windows (XP styled)" c++ based interface with full menu's and menu driven commands for everything and hot keys with a list of them available in the help menu!,

if you charged 40 to 50 dollars a pop you would wind up with thousands of folks buying in the first short while after it's release, !

it would start a bit slow, due to a slowdown in getting the word out to the blind community, but I can assist with that since I have listings here of a few score sight impaired assistance groups and web sites, and have a couple I can promote it on myself.

I also monitor 8 lists for the blind and visually impaired, so can start a snowball on any software (or hardware for that matter) that proves itself useful to me/us.

#8 - Once you have 'activated' the program - the 200MB limitation goes away. So far easy to understand program - might just wreck a small drive & see what this puppy can do - Thanks GAOTD & Togethershare for today's offering.

I had a problem with Admin level ID not being acceptable so I couldn't even run the program. However, I got it to run this way. Create a desktop icon for the exe file, right click on desktop icon, select properties, click advanced button, and tick "Run as admin" box. For some strange reason this seems to work even when the exe file is set to run under admin privs but refuses to do so. Perhaps this is worth a try. Mind you I am running Vista Home Premium so that probably says it all!

@8 Iain
The download is the FREE version of the program that only recovers up to 200MB at most. However, as usual in a GOTD is a text file that has the KEY... copy that and paste it in the usual registration field of the program. Not really hard is it?
Then this program will recover ALL you need: 200MB and 200GB alike (but for the time it takes :P )

The first window of the program says - at the bottom in red letters "recover 200MB data for free". After click on "activate" and entering the key, this sxentence is disclosed in no second. And you dont have the limit any longer. Maybe you need glasses or you can't see the color red...... I am nearly blind, but I had some luck....

My test was about 8 seconds for a 50GB partition, and it found all deleted files...

The install process removed the older version in order to install the 'free' version, not the indicated 'Pro' version.
So all I can recover is 200MB of a 2TB partition!

And once 'activated', to do that it seems I need to have administrator authority - using an 'Admin' level ID not being adequate authority.

Looks like I'll be going to a restorepoint to prior to the install of this offering

No deception taking place, after installation towards the top right it has the word Activate this will open a box in which you can paste the supplied registration code which changes it from the free version to the professional version.

#8 You have to enter the serial number provided to activates the prog. This upgrades it and removes the 200MB restriction.

I tested most of those recovery programs and in my opinion, most of them do about the same job, they either follow the front few digits of the file status. In order to recover a daisy chained file, must follow the logical formated path, but if you have constantly deleting and transferring files from one folder to a different one, the recovery is impossible and this software is one of them, can not recover what ever was written above it, in other words, it is as useless as 99% of them on the market today.
To claim a recovery success a software must rely on the content of the file in combination with data clusters and only 1% of them are like that and never given away as per my monitoring of recovery software.

Only after I'd installed it did it tell me that I would need to upgrade to be able to recover more than 200MB

If they had said so up front, I'd not have bothered, but now I am angry that they deceived me.

Would you trust a dishonest company to recover your data? I wouldn't!

Program downloaded and installed without any problems. Basic design preventing you from having to scratch your head. I tried to recover information from an old drive it was able to recover more than I expected in the test. Program does as it states.

Uninstalled from system.

There are dozens of such programs that resurrect files. What I find potentially the must useful of its claims is to resurrect PARTITIONS. I had a HDD that had a few damaged sectors and became un-bootable. I managed to rescue 1000's of files using another such program, but hadn't at that time found a program that claimed to reconstitute a partition - in place. If this was able to do that, it would be a winner.. Even if it just made the partition bootable again, it would be great.

by the idea of erasing file (overwrite it few times with ones and zeros) there no software solution that can recover ERASED files.

Maybe it could be your BACKUP software, but you HAVE to do backup
to recover erased files ;-)

Installed and registered without difficulty, opened to a very plain and simple interface.
Tested on a FAT formatted eight gig SD card; in deleted recovery it was very fast but found very little, however in format recovery it did an excellent job and found many files.
The error message of unsupported format when trying to view JPG files occurred when the file extension did not match the file header, i.e. the first bytes of the file, but when both matched presented a good preview.
Format recovery was used on a card that had not been reformatted, it appears it is just a much deeper scan.

Both methods work very quickly and as stated the second method was surprisingly good and so I'll be keeping this recovery program.

@ TogetherShare Software, GOTD and everybody

I'd like to know whether TogetherShare Data Recovery Pro 4.6 is doing its work destruction free (e.g. trying to recover a lost partitions to other media) thus giving you a second chance with other softwares in case TogetherShare Data Recovery Pro 4.6 fails.

Installed and registered on a Win 8.1.2 Pro 64 bit system.

The activation process claimed an "invalid key", with the second attempt withe the same copy&paste key, it was accepted.

A Chinese company without address, situated in Chengdu with a moderate company goal:

To be the largest listed consumer software export company in China within 3 years.
To be a worldwide well-known consumer software developer and publisher within 5 years.

To achieve this, this software must not be one of the many "recover your lost files" products, but the best...

Upon start the typical "Chinese style" screen opens, blueish, handwritten letters, only missing the flowers and dragons.

You have the choice of the deleted files recovery (those, who exist but have the deleted mark in the filename $$$), a format recovery of a deep search on the NTFS level or the partition recovery (lost or damaged partitions, MBR...). It seems to work only on NTFS?

I tested the deleted files recovery, you can choose, which types to search - email, graphic or video for example.

The search is quick (it has only to look in the filetable), the results are clearly shown, a preview option gives the chance to see the content as ASCII text, HEX or image format.

All files, which I searched (image) could not be shown as preview in image format because of : "not supported image format". This applied to JPEG as well as for PNG.

And here I remember, that we have had nearly the same software under another name - because of the message "not supported image format" and the style of the recovery screen. But I do not remember the name. Sorry.

Seems to be a good program in my test - the best? no!

Uninstalled via reboot. To keep dozens of recovery programs seems of no real use for me.
