Hi GOTD, I recently had a antispyware program tell me that there is a trojan in Sticky Password. The antivirus program is ClamAV. The threat is called "Downloader.Adload-130 (Trojan detected by ClamAV). The particular file named is spportablerun in folder C:\Program Files\Sticky Password

Could someone look into this and get back to me. Thank you.

Downloaded and installed the program within the 24 hours that is should be free and I see a warning that I need a registration key or it is going to expire.

What gives?

Been using the program mostly on Firefox and a little bit on IE6 for almost a week now and have not encountered any problems at all. It's a very feature rich and unobstrusive program.

One thing I've noticed is that the version I've downloaded is 3.1.09 wheras the homepage shows 3.1.04 beta as last version.

Late note on this, but played with this software for a few days and finally decided to uninstall it. Same issues as others had found, it doesn't work for some logins and the program's way of popping up whether you want it to or not is very annoying.

It does require that you restart your computer to complete the uninstall, unusual for such a small utility. Worse, even after a restart it still did not uninstall cleanly. It left a couple folders and miscellaneous files which were of course unusable with the rest of the program uninstalled. So if you uninstalled this one be sure to check your hard drive to get rid of the garbage this one leaves behind on "uninstall".

i installed sticky password and it is functioning, but, i've got some problems with popup windows: if a IE window opens an url in another popup window when i close the popup also the opener closes.
This doesn't happen if Sticky locked.

Have you got any ideas?

Screwed up my Outlook Express (OE), but other than that, seems like a very useful app. Too bad, I guess I'll have to uninstall it. If anyone has a work arround for OE... Please post.

I ran Sticky Password, but uninstalled it last night, as I had a couple problems with it:

1. I didn’t like that it popped up whenever you were trying to log into a site and wouldn’t let you log in until you chose whether you wanted it to remember the password for the site or not. It should wait until you’ve logged in. Sometimes I can’t remember the password and have to try again, so saving it the first time would save the incorrect information.

2. Once I had added a couple of accounts, I noticed whenever I’d go to any website that required logging in and my information had been previously stored for automatically logging on, I could no longer do that, as my login and password were deleted. I couldn’t log in at all unless I had Sticky Password open and manually used it to log me in. Maybe my definition of a password saver is different than the programmers, but I think the program should save the password, but leave it at the place it was saved, too. I couldn’t auto-log on to any site while the program was installed. After uninstalling Sticky Password, I had to go into my browser options and manually select the function to save passwords again.

Overall, I feel the program is awkward and requires more steps to run than the browser feature to save login data. Also, I don’t know how a consumer can get over the uneasy feeling that their information may be compromised.

Folks, Sticky is GREAT software. Nevertheless I obviously made a GREAT mistake after installation forgetting to register and deleting the activate.exe. So, will anyone of you be so GREAT as to send me the registration key to virdra-gongin@arcor.de ? I would be very GRATEful. Thanx in advance.

I installed the software and it completely messed up all my passwords for OE and yahoo mail! After hours of going back and forth, I finally had to "exit' the program and redo all my email logins, passwords etc. I don't understand how a program can take something as simple as Outlook express (OE) and mess it up with Yahoo and grab the wrong ID and mix them all up! What a mess.

On the good side, when I was surfing the net, it did get the passwords right. I will try the forums, but this program could be too much trouble, even free, and I am fairly pc-literate.

I love this product. I have it installed on a Jump drive so I can use it at work and at home using the same password database. And since it is on a portable drive, it is very secure. I just remove the drive when I leave the computer, and my passwords go with me.

This program is really good and I am happy with it. Installation and activation was easy and it's clever how it remembers the passwords in more than one browser (I use both IE and Firefox).

This shows that you didn't even try this program. This is done in a bvery sophisticated way, more like a HIPS, ie. it is checking what other progs are doing etc....

@64:

RoboForm claims to also "protect against keyloggers", all password managers claim that as they aren't really typing. Most keyloggers just get what is being typed.

I have uninstalled "StickyPassword". It now requires I restart my computer to complete process. I have been trying to activate this since 7AM ! I have other things to do rather than keep dealing with this. I am activley using my computer and I cannot/will not shut it down, losing current info in use. Most programs have never required this. I never used it in any way. Never made any settings or entries. I will NEVER install another program that requires this process. (Besides being a resource hog) I will abort ASAP ! I suggest GOTD inform developers of the trouble I have had as well as others with this process. I still have no idea why/how some have had no trouble when others, like myself have. I can only assume that anything this difficult would also cause more problems in it's use. THUMBS DOWN on this one.

- Anti keylogger protection

I probably didn't mess with it long enough but it was so irritating the way it kept popping up a request for mail AND news passwords, I just uninstalled it. I have used Roboform for years and I can't understand why I couldn't get it configured correctly so it wouldn't keep doing that. If anyone knows why, please feel free to let me know. Thanks

With Roboform, I can click on "Yahoo email", for example, and it will load the yahoo email website, enter my username and password, and log me in - all with that 1 mouse click.

Can Sticky Passwords do that? Or do I have to go to the website myself and click "log in" myself?

Could Not use with multiple Hotmail accounts...Tried to set up second account to auto login and it gave error. I never had any problems like this with RoboForm. Also couldn't Exit the program and get rid of it in the Tray. Interface Not intuitive. Help pages did not agree with actual Screen when trying to alter Settings. Basically a piece of crap.

Still no luck with this program. - No problems with today's game "Abandoned Well".... Perhaps I remove this program and re-install ? I have double/tripple checked all letters and numbers of current "code". --- Beyond this program - I want to find out WHAT is the problem in case it reoccurs. (I have used a maginfiying glass to confirm current "code" ) Duhh ..... Larry B. (AKA #23) Still don't know why this fourm doesn't reconize my sign-in from other fourms ... Maybe a change in my coffee ? I'm ready to try any suggestions. LOL
