I use an older version of Adobe Acrobat to stamp signatures onto PDF documents rather than print/sign/scan. I was hoping this might be a quicker way to do this, but it is not useful for this. It is truly just for "Watermarks" and works OK for that purpose. But it could be so much more useful.
- Stamps appear on EVERY page of a PDF document. Why not select which page to stamp?
- Placement is very rudimentary: 9 pre-defined locations of four corners, 4 sides and centre. It can be adjusted using an X-Y offset number. Why not just click where you want it and drag to adjust position?
- Every time you want add a stamp to a document, you have to click "Add stamp", give the stamp a name, then choose a graphic or type some text, then stamp it. BUT there appears to be no way to recall this stamp to re-use it. Each time you have to add it, name it, then find the image/type the text. Why name it if the name is never used again? Why not have a library of previously used stamps using the REQUIRED NAME in a list instead of having to re-create it each time?
-The purpose of naming the stamp is there is a sidebar with a list of all of the watermarks that have been added to a document. You can select one of the watermarks you've applied the adjust the various parameters: location, size, transparency, etc.
-They include a library of images to use as stamps. Some useful like a copyright symbol or "do not copy". Others, I guess, "fun" like Bart Simpson, bear, elephant, bar chart, briefcase, headphones, camera, car, guitar, hearts, etc.
- I keep getting "Unhandled Exception" errors. Not sure why, but most of the time I can just close the notification box and keep working.
So... it's OK for watermarks, but is a bit basic and clunky.
