Don't forget that if you have system protection enabled on any windows drive this and ALL other overwrite erasers will fails to securely erase the data as on each write a copy of the original data is saved to Volume Shadowcopy Store (VSS) to securely erase on a given windows volume you must disable system protection for that drive and forgo system restore or previous versions feature of windows. Anything ever saved to VSS can be recovered using most recovery software deep scan feature or ShadowExplorer program.

TK, Thanks for pointing that out! You’re absolutely right—Windows’ Volume Shadow Copy can sometimes interfere with secure erasure by keeping backups of files, even after they’ve been deleted. To fully ensure that data is securely erased, it’s important to disable System Protection on the relevant drive and forgo features like System Restore or Previous Versions.
