Does the software need to be installed and registered on both source and target computer today? I will be buying a new PC next month, but I can only install and register the software on the source machine right now. Will I be able to run the transfer later?

To connect EaseUS Todo PCTrans Professional by wired connection using 2 computers, do you have to use a crossover Ethernet network cable, or would a normal Ethernet cable be enough?
Can you use a USB 3.0 Data Transfer Cable PC to PC with the above program?

They use an ethernet connection, wired or wifi... also appears to support creating a backup file to external storage and moving it to the new machine and restoring it on the new machine...
