First run reported 1700+ items, it then cleaned them .... 2nd run was clear.
Seems to do as it should, no dramas.
Yet to know if it does improve performance.

Easy download and registration Windows 10. Also, easy to setup the optimizer to fit my needs. I was trying to schedule a time to optimize, which the webpage that the help section took me to said I could do. There is no such setting. I went back to the page that popped up after the download, and at the end of the features it says, "Note that you need the full version of the current Ashampoo WinOptimizer to restore your PC to its full potential." I'm a bit confused... All of the wording makes it seem that this is the latest full version and I don't see anything that insinuates that it is not the full version. Not complaining, just confused about the language in the offer.

I was unable to activate the downloaded product. I provided my Ashampoo username and password three times and repeatedly got the message to wait for an email with an activation code. Never got the emails.

I have been using Ashampoo products for over 20 years and am highly pleased with the quality of the software they make. I've never had a problem with them. I have had many of their freebies, good software for free.

I have many other Ashampoo products that work fine. I downloaded this one to try. And, this one probably does also, but aggressive cleaning scares me so I will wait till my machine is "in trouble" before I use this.
