Ant Download Manager (AntDM) is a tool that allows you to repeatedly increase the speed of file downloads due to multiple download streams, resume, schedule downloads, capture and download audio and video streams.

Automatically processes download errors, recovers from temporary network errors, reconnects in case of server response delays, has the ability to resume interrupted downloads due to loss of connection, network problems, computer shutdown, or unexpected power outages.
The standard GUI for softwares of this class makes AntDM friendly and easy to use. It has two screens – the first is more common for regular downloads and the second is using video preview for easy tracking of video downloads.
Has download queues, which allows you to accumulate download links at a convenient or scheduled time for the user.
Supports proxy-servers, HTTP and FTP file protocols and their protected versions of HTTPS and FTPS, as well as the main streaming protocols for audio and video content M3U8, MPEG-DASH, VIMEO-STREAM, firewalls, redirects, cookies, authorization, processing of audio and video content.
Supports BitTottrent a P2P (peer-to-peer) file sharing protocol.

Caution: This is the *32-bit* version. I had the 64-bit version installed, so I had to allow the installer to remove it and replace it with this version. Not sure why the vendor would opt to furnish an ~obsolete architecture, since Win 11 is 64-bit-only, for example. I was willing to "downgrade" in order to capture the newest features, but YMMV.

The product is generally quite good, but it DOES use A LOT of CPU, even when nothing's downloading (perhaps because I keep many tabs open in my browser?). Older machines may struggle with that, so I thought I'd mention it.

Chuck, win32 is still supported by Windows11 it is NOT obsolete, just windows 11 relies upon 64bit code to enforce TPS and other technology. In fact 32bit applications USE less memory than 64bit applications and there is no reason a simple downloader program needs 64bit instruction set or greater than 2GByte user address space. publishing a 32bit edition increases the potential number of users as it can be used equally well by users of 32bit windows 7 to 10 and 64bit windows 7 to 10 only publishing a 64bit edition would cut out a large portion of potential customer base for absolutely no justifiable reason!

This is the 32 bit version. Prior giveaways were 64 bit. Not clear what you lose to "upgrade" to this one from an installed older version. Since my 2.16 pro 65 is working, I'm skipping this.

Bay Area John, you may lose youtube compatibility as the updates are only ever to counteract software countermeasures by youtube and other commercial content providers who prohibit the use of unauthorised downloaders like this. because AntDM uses proprietary code to deal with youtube content and not modules like yt-dlp.exe that are always updated by contributors for free AntDM lifetime license giveaways eventually cease to work on youtube and other similar services.

Yes, it downloads YouTube; I just tried it.
As for Facebook, here's what it says on their website: "Video and audio download: Easily save videos from Vimeo, Dailymotion, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Rutube, and other platforms. Extract audio in MP3 format with a single click."

Have been using Ant Downloader for while, it's excellent, and was waiting for an updated version to show up here. One problem - Norton won't allow it to install this time, it's throwing up an IDP infection alert and quarantining Setup.exe, it's almost certainly a false flag but if I turn off Auto-Protect it still does it, and if I extract the file from quarantine and set up an exception it still does it :/

Henry, FB uncertain as I don't use facebook but youtube yes until they change the protocol which they do often to block these unauthorised downloader programs, then you'll need to either pay for an update or wait until another giveaway.

Henry, Facebook videos need to be public, otherwise no.
Some YouTube videos require you to be in your YouTube Account

Henry, It installs an extension into chrome and firefox (at least) browsers. And, yes, it can download from both FB and YT. I have the previous giveaway - version 2.16.4 and have just updated to this one. It works pretty well!

Henry, in my experience some but not all FB and all Youtube. I like it but the version I have sometimes hides itself after it is open forcing me to use task manager to find it and shut it down, and then run it again as an administrator.
