Every day we offer FREE licensed software you’d have to buy otherwise.
PDF Combine was available as a giveaway on September 2, 2012!
You may have a few burst PDF document pages or pieces on your work, and need a tool to combine those PDF pages and files to a single PDF document. PDF Combine is a Windows application to combine several PDF pieces and files to a single one. It also auto-decrypt the user password protected PDF files.
Windows XP/ 2000/ 2003/ Vista/ 7/ 8
9.79 MB
$29.95
JPG To PDF Converter for Mac creates PDF documents from image files that you select. Simply drag and drop your images and photos onto the application, and click Convert Now button to start the task.
PDF OCR is a Windows application and uses Optical Character Recognition technology to OCR scanned PDF documents to editable text files.
Too late for a comment, but hope is still there for people who installed the GAOTD offering and never did test (like me till today) or just left it at the non-working state.
#24 gives the URL from the pdfcombine website. This works well with the GAOTD key inside the readme.txt file.
Enjoy :-)

@63, Sue Ross: Good news, but ... WHERE can I find the bug-fixed version? Not on this site: I just redownlaoded and installed and it still does not combine pdf's.
Save | Cancel
I had nothing but difficulties trying every way to get it to work, even downloaded it twice. I wrote the admin and, to my surprise, they wrote back saying the bug was fixed. EUREKA! It worked perfectly. This is a great program. I would suggest they leave it open for another day, even publicize it, to let everyone know they answer theri e-mail, even in the middle of the night, and fix problems. I have needed something like this for ages and didn't know it existed. Thanks for a great product and standing behind it.

Re 42, "I know that ALL comments made here are not from English speaking people as their main language." (I changed "all" into "ALL")
Surely there will be at least ONE comment from a native speaker??
But native-speakerism is no guarantee that the spelling will be correct in the eyes of the reader. If only because some write "optimisation" and others write "optimization". The US error corrector sees "optimisation" as incorrect. The UK error correction accepts both forms. And "speakerism" is not an English word. So my Chrome spelling corrector puts a red wobbly line below it. But I assume you will understand what I mean. Language is a living thing.

@ Dae
Are you suffering from a mental condition or are you seriously just that slow? Even if you really did have a website of free offerings, this program isn't free except for today. It usually cost $29.95, which is $29.95 too much. No alternative to compare this to? You apparently have a reading comprehension issue also. Try reading some of the prior comments. There are LOTS of alternatives mentioned...and they actually are free.

program by default installs to root of C: drive, which is bad form; I recommend using your (32-bit) program folder instead.

Initially, the program did not produce any output.
Without unistalling, it then worked after I installed the trial version available at the developer's website.
I successfully re-entered GOTD's code to register the software.
To test, I first converted webpages to PDF files using a Firefox Add-On, before merging them with today's giveaway.
The merged file looks ok.

downloaded "bug fix" version from link in comment #24, installed it (I had never installed the GOTD version) and registered it with GOTD key. So far as I can tell, everything seems to work fine, although I trust someone else will double-check that out. Looks like all the comments I can read up to now (i.e. through #52) used GOTD version and not the "Bug Fix" replacement.

That worked and I was able to register it with the GOTD key in their readme.

Unless I missed something, installation and ease of use seem pretty straight forward. But try as I may, for the life of me I've still not seen an output file. Regardless of what I set the Output folder to be it still comes up empty. I see from the comments that I'm not the only one who has this unsolved mystery. This program doesn't do a whole hell of allot and it apparently can't even do that. Then again maybe I'm just missing something.

I am sure the "PDF Combine" company has tried to make their product a good one, YOU CLEARLY HAVE NOT TESTED THOROUGHLY, which tells me a lot about the quality of your product. You will never succeed if you continue with a poor quality product, whether you have just fixed it or not.
I would not put this on my PC for any money in the world.

In the software description is written: "Auto-decrypt Owner Password". How does it work?
In the FAQ page (http://www.pdfcombine.net/faq.html) is also written: "PDF Combine cannot combine user password protected PDF documents."

I solved all problems indicated in my previous post.
I downloaded the trial from the producer site (http://www.pdfcombine.net/) and used the serial number from the giveaway readme file to register.
The software installed from that file had no problems.
Tested and it worked fine.

After my previous comment (#14) I thought I'd wait about 6 hours and then try to download again and extract the files to specific folder and not to a temporary one. I completely uninstalled the copy I installed about 6 A.M. with Revo Uninstaller to be sure there were no left over parts which could cause a problem. I tried using the default output folder (C:\Output) as well as on of my own on the same drive the files were stored on.
After numerous tries I am unable to find a combined PDF using the Everything search engine. I am once again uninstalling this program. Too bad.
I am using a two week old Asus Computer with Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit updated last evening.

As with so many others here, installed, ostensibly ok, except got message "giveawayoftheday has stopped working" at end of install, although program strated with registration, thereafter, except NO OUTPUT
Save | Cancel
Installed OK but it is not working.
There are some problems I found:
1. Some of the command buttons positions do not match the inscriptions (SettingxRemove Files, HelpxSetting, ExitxHelp, xExit)
2. After the Combine Now is done the combined files should go to a chosen folder, indicated in the bottom, but this is not happening
3. Setting bottom is just to define the beep after files combined (?)
4. The files box does not match the place defined to it in the program window
5. The program window is bigger than necessary and a white margin appears in its right and bottom area.
I think this is not nor a final version but just a beta version.
Horrible program. I am uninstalling it.

With no alternative software to compare this with, I find today's giveaway a good idea and, as always, a good deal. Perhaps the negative votes came from folks who have no use for a utility such as this. I do. I will use it on my website for the free presentations I offer.
Thank you for this opportunity!

I have tried to ask this on the forum, but alas, 24 hours later, I'm still waiting for my emailed password to log in to actually post there. So hoping someone can tell me HERE. What has GOTD done to their installation wrapper? The last thing I was able to install from them was Around the World in 80 Days, and now everything else - either here or at game giveaway - all I get is an error message that says:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." I'm running Windows 7 and since I am the only one who uses my PC, I AM running as administrator.
So can someone tell me what the trick is to install the software from here now? Or please point me to the thread in the forum (which I've looked for but cannot seem to find) that says how I can git 'er done?
Thank you!

the blurb about today's program says it also decrypts user passwords, but I don't have anything to test it on, so I don't know about that. Of course, given its problems in doing its other alleged capability, there is certainly reason to doubt that it will do decrypt passwords either. It's a crying shame, since PDFZilla has a good rep as far as I know. Any chance it is mistakenly putting the result somewhere else instead of where it was supposed to go? I wish I had a tool to check on that possibility.

From PDF Combine FAQ:
Some PDF Files cannot be Combined, Why?
Your PDF files might be protected by user password. Please try to open your PDF file to check if it asks you for the password. PDF Combine cannot combine user password protected PDF documents.

Well, the GOTD part went as a breeze as usual lately. Installed without problems on Win 7 64-bit. But the software itself... I was briefly excited about its portability but PDF Combine turns out to be yet another One-Click-Wonder that promises gold but fails to deliver.
Combine 100+ of PDF Files in Few Seconds. After a few seconds it didn't even combine two files. I've read the FAQ so after verifying in a Sandboxie that PDF Combine wasn't doing weird or malicious things, I ran as Admin, used unprotected PDF's and gave it an exception rule in my AV. Didn't make any difference whatsoever.
Support All Windows Platforms But not my roommate's Windows Phone. Oh well, nitpicking I guess...
Auto-decrypt Owner Password. Not what the FAQ says: do not use password protected PDF's. So what does this even mean? It'll try to bruteforce the PDF password? Or is it just a hollow phrase?
And sometimes anti-virus software might false alert for the backend program of PDF Combine. What backend program is PDF Combine using that triggers a false positive? Are you using your own code or are you using some third-party library? Or is the digital signature failing? The lack of information (and forums!) is rather dissapointing.
Uninstalled and thumbed down.
@Jo For the .zip file you'll need nothing extra, just double-click it and an extract-dialog should appear. Extract to a new folder. And as for the Setup.gcd file, the Setup.exe will take care of that, you don't need to do anything with it. Just run Setup.exe and use the licensing info in the readme.txt. So actually not hard at all and no extra software needed!

The price point on this software is (to be blunt) set ridiculously high for what amounts to nothing more than a single "feature".
There are many free and/or open source alternative programs out there that not only offer the ability to merge, but also burst, rotate, re-order, etc. . This program isn't worth the price of a used gum wrapper.
In the meantime. . .folks. . .here's a site with a great list of various Free pdf related applications that will allow you to merge files and much more.
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/best-free-pdf-tools.htm
(note: not all apps are full-featured with free licenses. read the info on each)
PDFforge also now has the free PDF Architect to compliment their great free PDF Creator Application (virtual PDF printer).
http://www.pdfforge.org/
For more advance users, xpdf over at Foolabs is worth checking out.
http://www.foolabs.com/xpdf/download.html
and finally for those that aren't afraid of getting a few virtual paper cuts tackling command line programs and doing batch file creation. . .there is also the swiss army knife of pdf manipulation - PDFTK.

It registered with the GAOTD activation number.
NO OUTPUT.
I installed the non-free version from the author's website... it works... output created (yet unregistered -1st page inside the combined PDF is an annoy-ware reminder that the app is unregistered).
I used the GAOTD activation number and it broke the app. No output after registration.
I don't vouch for the tests steps above as meaningful --but no animals were harmed in this test.

Very poor app with an ugly interface even if pretty useful especially for those like me working with PDfs on a daily basis...

Personally I prefer a tool (why not FREE & PORTABLE??) capable of doing the opposite operation, namely to split a multi-page PDF file to several PDF pieces in order to transfer or save some private info pages, rather than copy&paste the content:
http://www.pdftojpgconverter.com/pdfburst.html
And how about attach any file (Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio document or Microsoft Publisher document) to your existing PDF document for FREE?
http://www.coolpdf.com/pdfbundle.html
Or just generate PDFs from a group of images files (for instance scanned lecture notes)??
http://www.kirys.it/software/rilego.html
And what if you could protect your new PDF files as only professional gurus usually do, kissing online thieves goodbye for FREE??
http://www.armjisoft.com/?page=pdfownerguard
But if you are looking for a more comprehensive and professional PDF utility solution, then look no further....
http://www.pdfcore.com/

Yes, it's true...with Giovanni wandering around, even the PDF utilities "field" looks like pretty much SATURATED nowadays, meaning there's no need to pay anything anymore (and GAOTD like this are useless if they don't have additional features to offer...): get the drift, dudes? LOL!
