Can’t register. It says
“Other Error. Registration cancelled. Please check your internet connection, or contact us via support@leawo.com.”
Internet connection is working fine, tried reinstalling with the exe provided in the registration E-Mail but the same thing.

Tried typing the code without the _s & it says "Invalid registration code. Please check the spelling or contact support for more help".

What a gem! I waited until the last minute, largely because of so many nay-sayers. If you have iTunes and you missed this, too bad. It went through my 3,000 songs and fixed many, many things. Did it make mistakes? Sure, what doesn't? But it added a great deal of missing info. No problems with installing, registering or using. You get free stuff here, y'all. Never look a gift program in its binary mouth.

Software installed fine on my Win8 box. It popped up iTunes after I registered it and clicked OK. It effectively scanned iTunes for duplicate songs and missing album work. It did a great job cleaning up and pulling in missing album covers. So far no complaints.
I will be testing to see how it pulls over my playlist from iTunes to Android.

I will provide more feedback once its used a bit more.

Thanks

To #8 Carl - as I said the duplicates are BACKUPS on DIFFERENT drives. I like to backup songs I have BOUGHT. Surprised at your aggressive response. Hardly helpful or regarding the software.

Well, the thumbs down made worry, but installed it anyway. It does a good job. Did find 1800 missing album art. I didn't "Apply" because i want to check the findings. This is a keeper!

Works ok on Windows 7 - mine is without iTunes. If you have songs that were not ripped off recent disks, or many captured from, say, youtube, check the proposed changes carefully. Otherwise it seems to do a reasonable job. The help file points to an online page that seems out of date, as the editing options are now different, even though possibly simpler, but it took a random swipe over the album pic to reveal a "play" button. And the sound of the play seems rougher than with other players.
Opening in explorer does open only a folder and does not highlight the song itself. Keeping it for awhile, but hope for a better way some day.

Well, I downloaded it and gave them my email for the key. When I enter the key by cut and paste I get a message invalid keycode (or something approximating that). There doesn't seem to be anywhere on their web site to email them about this problem.

Installed and registered without a problem. I did find that the Duplicate scan had some problems. I used Deep Scan and it erroneously flagged a couple of songs as duplicates. One song pair it flagged had the same name but were different lengths and different tracks on the same album. (One was, I believe, a reprise.) In another case it flagged two completely different songs; a 30 second intro and a 4 minute song. Different track names, different track lengths and, again, different tracks on the same album. In four other instances, it did find true duplicates.

In the Cleaning, it tried to give 4 different covers to tracks from the same album. It removed a song from an album and gave it a new album name and cover ('All of the Stars' from the album x by Ed Sheeran was turned into a single from The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack.)

While I do appreciate the software, and I enjoy other Leawo products, this one has some issues. Be careful to review the "fixes" before committing them.

It seems to work well on my system. Installed and registered without problems. Win 7, Core i7, 12g mem, etc.
It even found album art and other metadata for a bunch of Korean songs that happen to be in my iTunes library.

Haven't downloaded and am not rating, but I have a question for everyone: Got any recommendation for freeware alternatives, espectially portables? I would need something just to work with MP3s and I do not use iTunes. Any ideas?

I use J. River Media Jukebox everywhere except on Android. (For that I use Poweramp). It's a shame that a third party app(s) is necessary to give an itunes user the choice to determine where their music files should be stored and on what devices it should be stored on. The whole Apple/IPOD/IPHONE/ITUNES ecosystem is creepy in that way (IMO)..not to mentioned the bloated piece of software Apple tries to push on your PC called Quicktime.

iTunes - iPhones - iAnything blows...not a big fan of software that installs semi hidden things that don't get removed on uninstall either. Tons of freebies that will sort your music and find album art and dupes...just Google it...

Not a fan of itunes but I do believe that you can do what this program does in itunes itself.

also beware if you pay for this program or download it it's only good for one year they won't tell you however when that year gets near they will contact you and tell you to make another purchase for $39.99 or the program will expire.

I purchased this program a year ago in June of 2013 and I have over 3000 songs in iTunes and it only scanned a couple hundred. while it said it removed the duplicates it didn't. also it couldn't find the artist and or album of 110 songs. I contacted support since I purchased the app and only had 5 days remaining as told before my software expired. after a few days past support got back with me and said was these illegal downloads. I responded that none of my songs were downloaded that they came from my cd collection which was stolen from and that I had picked random songs from each cd. they took several days then told me my support expired and that I would have to purchase the program for $39.00 when I only paid $9.99 for the program when it was advertised. I declined and they said I wouldn't be able to use the program. the program still works on my computer, however it still have not found the 110 songs and it won't search the 3000 plus songs I have. so thumbs down to this program and if you think about purchasing this beware you can't call or talk to support and they won't call you. you have to depend on emails and it's a lengthy process. one of the questions the support asked me was what's the name of the album and the song also the track number. well as I explain to them that's the reason I purchased the program and if I had that info I wouldn't need the program and support. my conclusion is that this is a waste of time.

Well, here we go again with the voting system. My heart goes out to the developer. Not one comment regarding the functionality of the program. @2 even got voted down for asking the question. Please people, If you don't like/use ITunes-don't d.l. it. But don't mark it as a thumbs down without even trying it.

I ran this on my library, and get over 1600 "unwriteable items". What exactly does this mean, and how do I fix this?

This installs (actually, all Leawo software does) a 'helper' or database link...or something...no--one knows what it does, that runs as a service. Even if you delete the program it stays permanently installed and requires system tools to disable and uninstall it.
Process Lasso can disable it...so can Autoruns.

Now, I don't like hidden backdoor programs. I don't mind programs which install service routines, but if I choose to uninstall the damn things the least they could do is leave my system in the same state as before I tried out their offering.

Just saying, be aware of it.

There won't be many positive comments here on anything Apple. Android and PC hobbyists need this site, and a lot more, to piece together a working system. Buy Apple if you want things to work seamlessly, PC and Android are for us slow learners.

I am an Android phone user as well, but I have iTunes installed on my computer. I don't see where anyone is forcing anyone to use this program. If you don't want it, don't download it. I've never had a problem with any Leawo product. I know everyone's kinda ticked off at Apple right now, and rightfully so for forcing the unlistenable new U2 album on us and for releasing a 700.00 paperweight aka the iPhone 6 that still has inferior hardware to most Android phones, but don't take it out on Leawo. mmmmkay?

I think some might confuse this with an iPad cleaner. This is for cleaning files from the iTunes program. But iTunes is free, so why are they charging $40 for a program to clean it?

I've tried & tried - BUT the program won't find the 250 Gb of songs I have stored (alot digitized from my collections of LP's, Cassettes, CD's & downloads) All music has been converted to MP3 & I even POINTED the direction to my songs (NO JOY) no wonder it is getting so many thumbs down (me too - sorry Leawo) Thanks anyway GOTD - Have a great weekend. PS: My OLD gripe as well - NO "WORD" pull-down menus available. There are 000's of us baby-boomers that STILL understand English - MORE - than pics!

To #4 Dawn: Why are you paying for the same song more than once? Or are you one of those people who downloads wily-nily from suspect sources and never supports the artist financially?

Again with the bashing because the software is for a targeted audience. Really people? I have no use for the vast majority of the software on here. Thank you Leawo for letting people try it out. While I can't offer anything constructive about the software (android person myself), I find it rather ridiculous that the moderators of the comments will allow such bashing with no attempt at trying it out. The comments are for feedback, such as bugs or points which are nice , to improve upon the software given away. Hope this can help iPhone users, and look forward to the next giveaway :)

I don't like iTunes but for my purposes the alternatives are worse so I started using it to catalogue my mp3s. I had recently extracted 15 gigs of music files from an old mp3 player with tags which were sketchy at best. I ran Leawo Tunes Cleaner and it came up with artwork for all of them most of which was correct. It will save me a huge amount of time adding to tags I've already got and highlights those I need to add to myself to get the right identification. Definitely a keeper for me (as it's free today).

Just what I needed - I have several backups of the same song on different drives and ITunes imports them all onto my Ipod. It's really annoying and a pain to remove them all manually. I have just tried this and has quickly removed them all, plus it gives the option to undo the delete. It also looks up artwork for you. I love it! Thank you!

Hope it good for all of you that uses iTune. I for one, use Android. I do not appreciate a company that decides what is "good" for the customers and forces this decision.
peace
