After downloading the iSkysoftVideoEditor411.zip from the link above and unzip it, you read the readme.txt file which gives a link to iskysoft.com website. You fill out your name and email info and then an immediate email reply was given. In that email is another direct download of iskysoft Video Editor. Just click on it. After installing and registering it that way, what you just got was version 4.1.2 and not 4.1.1 Now that's something pretty good, I must say.

In playing around with the editor, it looks too much like Wondershare's version of their video editor in almost every way and it's also the exact same 4.1.2 version. I'll keep it for now and do some editing and see if anything is different, other than the color of the GUI (Wondershare is green and iskysoft is gray). So far it does what it claims so I'm happy with it but the engine also seems to behave in the same manner as the Wondershare program.

I would Not recommend using NCH Freebies, they lodge themselves way inside your Registry and is hell to get them out.

Gotta give a thumbs down on this one. Unfortunately, the user interface refuses to be resized less than 745 pixels vertically. This is entirely unsatisfactory on my 1366 x 768 pixel display. To prevent "stacking" of programs on my taskbar, I pull it up to use two rows, and with the Aero theme, with its translucent taskbar, the UI for this program makes the top row unreadable and unusable. It is always a bad design decision to dictate to your users by limiting UI resizing, and is particularly egregious given that there's a bunch of waste space in that UI that could be eliminated if the UI were redesigned. Bad idea, Wondershare. Fix it.

I could not be able to register successfully after program installed.
I entered the licensed e-mail and provided registration code, but the program could not recognize the combination and failed to complete the registration.

Wow. In a tough field of competition this is a very nice editor. Not only does it do the simple task of compiling, trimming, titling (with very nice options for effects in titles, including thought or speech bubbles, and various display animations, rolling credits, fly-ins) and adding a large number of transitions, it allows picture-in-picture in various ways, special effects, rotating, cropping (Which it does very well), hue, saturation, and other filters, and sound mixing, including some (32) special sound effects that can be easily added to. Oh yes, and it exports to a large number of formats including facebook and direct to YouTube, as well as phones, DVD, or image files.
I have other free and GOTD editors, and this one competes very well. The company is offering lifetime updates today for GOTD users for only $6.95, which is inexpensive enough for me to take.
In other words, in a field with a lot of competition, I think this competes well. Other GOTD users will probably like to take a very close look at it.

ROFLMAO @ #5 & #6 ;-)

Yep, excellent fine slices - as thin as the oooooold airmail enveloppes, to save weight (on tummies for men and on fannies for wimmen).

Note that those type of Prosciuttii (one prosciutto, 2 or more prosciutti) are extremely interesting in as much as the taste changes completely as the slice is thin or large.

When it comes to "viande séchée" (litteraly dried meat), swiss people do lead controversies: beef of horse? Thin or thick?

TMHPOV this is great. When you slice as thin as possible and when this thiniest is reached you can use it to create a "halo" or "curtain" effect.

Same with swiss cheese: a small thin slice of the famous "tête de moine" (monk's head) is extremely flavouring, while a thick piece will just stick to your dental apparel and be a divorce motive case.

Sorry for the interruption.

havanice evening and greeeetinzz from sweeetzerland.

Peace and Love and Light everywhere

I looked at the Wondershare Video Editor and it looks almost identical to me.

I have installed the program without any problems, but it bothers me the Helper thing. I don't know what it does or what it is, so for now I have just disabled it.

I decided to install this software because the learning curve seems somewhat easy, and because it has the ability to rotate videos. When I film on my Galaxy and hold the phone "sideways" (to have a wide screen}, and then transfer the video to my PC to play it, the video plays "sideways."

I like this software because it will rotate the output video. (Lots of others do that as well, but this program does it easily.) Also, when you first open the program you have a choice of an easy interface or an advanced interface.

I also like that we can install vs. 4.1.2 (#2 @PhilS) after installing todays giveaway (vs. 4.1.1) without penalty. We do have to give an email address to get the registration code, but that's not a big deal to me.

JUST FYI - If you use a gmail account to register, check your Gmail ONLINE spam folder for your registration code. That is where I found mine, as it never made it to my desktop.

Thanks GOTD and iSkysoft!

User-friendly but lots of great features !!
Once I figured it out, I really like the "Chroma key" effect.
BTW. "Chroma key" won't show, you have to do it thru PIP.

Sometimes a user puts in links to alternatives, as a favour or to share something good.

Usually these are safe & a few lead to gems.

But if we do not know what we are doing, then the link we gave for others to click, may introduce them to a malware/virus infection.

An unsuspecting click creates a connection between the internet and your hard-drive and starts playing a file - that may send a virus into your PC system. It then depends how good is your defensive firewall/anti-malware software to combat it.

Cool, my daughter use these to edit her videos and to upload onto YouTube. She likes to sing like karaoke type of "games". So she'll be pleased. I can't wait to see her reaction when she'll arrive home later on and find out that I finally got her a video editor. She's been on about it for too long already.

Usually, you can crop the picture and tweak all sort of things with your video. She uses it to remove the sound and then to add her own voice so it sounds like she is singing or speaking instead of the other person on the video.
Thanks GOTD and iSkysoft.

I got Wondershare last give-away and have been using it to create educational videos like this one:

http://www.hottopusa.com/vid_RearCover.html

Although I am a graphic artist, I had very little experience producing videos. While this program looks very simple, a little digging reveals that it allows clipping and editing videos very easy. Multiple videos can be dropped and arranged, portions removed, and even a still image can be clipped and lengthened for any amount of time you desire. It also allows portions to be sped up, up to X2. Titles and transitions are also easy to add. Once the video was completed I did the voice-over using Audacity by playing the video and recording my voice, saving the WAV file, then importing it into Wondershare.

Yes, there are some features that could be improved (like speeding up more than X2), but if you are looking for a simple way to edit video and are a beginner looking for something to be easy to learn and use, check this offer out.

I have to take back my negative comment #4

The Editor looks really basic even in 'Full Feature Mode'.

But after trying it out for an hour this tool I'm really impressed of this tool. The number of tracks in the timeline goes up when needed.

iSkysoft's Video Editor needs little resources and runs fast even on an old 2-Core PC when processing HD-footage.

Absolutely stable with all kind of input-formats (mts-files from my camcorder, ts-files from my satellite-card.

My comment #4 was rated as 'not useful'. Good to see that the rating-system works fine.

Will keep this Editor

Thanks GotD and iSkysoft

What's the iSkysoft Helper Compact (about 8MB, about 40 files) installed into Common Files?
Is it necessary for the operation of the Video Editor? Can it securely be uninstalled without affecting VE or other apps that may depend on it?
(And is this what Karl means by "Don't forget to clean up after installation"?)
Thanks.

I used it to rotate a 3gp-movie 90 degree clockwise with very good result.

To rotate a video that way:
1. First import the video.
2. Then "drag" the imported movie down to the timeline.
3. Then select the video on the timeline.
4. Then click the Edit button (having a picture of a movie strip).
5. Then click the "90 degree clockwise" -button.
6. Then click the button with the text Return.
7. Then click Export.

Try as I might my anti-virus will not let me install today's download, tried about 10 times.

I have the previous version of this software and it's very much an editor for beginners, that is it lacks a number of the functions that I need to make it appear that I am with “Peppa Pig” for my granddaughter.
So I am still looking for one that can do this and at the same time be usable by someone as inexperienced in video editing as myself.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks for the advice, to be honest it sounds delicious and I'm going to try that in my little PID temperature controlled experimental oven. :-)

A nice tool to edit homemade videos,I specially liked the smart scene selection feature. Too bad I am addicted to some 'free' programs:

Just be careful while installing , home users have a free license:)

Again adware , careful while installing, steep learning curve, but once you get it you won't let it go.

Firstly, I have to appologise for my wingeing leftwing compatriate for dragging local politics into what is solely a forum for reviewing the GOTD software! By the looks of his negative "likes" many feel the same as me about using the forum in this manner.

Installed reasonably quickly and appears to be quite useful and will be keeping it. Many thanks GOTD :-)

Installed this on XP sp3 and it showed version 4.1.1.
It immediately offered to update to version 4.1.2: I accepted.
It downloaded 4.1.2, uninstalled 4.1.1, and installed 4.1.2.
The emailed activation code worked after clicking on "help" and registering.
I suggest as per #2 that if you want this program you use this link supplied in the activation email:

http://download.iskysoft.com/video-editor_full715.exe
to get 4.1.2 right away to avoid the need to update and simplify installation.

Having played with it for a couple of hours, it's very easy to use, even in full feature mode.

The features are well laid out and should be easy for most to spot what each one does.

The PIP feature works very well and is a doddle.

Remember to download the PIP Resource, Effect Resource and Transition Resource packages, which are all done from within the program, so no additional downloads to have to manage.

A reasonable selection of transitions, pips, effects, text options, although you can only use the supplied templates, with seemingly no option to customise and save any that you could create.

Real time preview is available although at first some transitions etc can be a little jerky.

Production of an end product video was extremely slow though, despite it supporting GPU acceleration from all the three main camps at Intel, AMD and Nvidia.

Most of the very common export file formats are covered, with a reasonable range of settings to choose from each.

If I were to consider a video editor at this price level, I would personally go for the very underated and better featured Trakaxpc.

It doesn't come close to Premiere Elements or others products at the next level but then you would not really expect it to be.

But this is still a reasonable download for somebody that just wants to get on without a steep learning curve.

Your good sleep is as important as nothing else to me:

It is Italian dry-cured ham : Prosciutto di San Daniele. It is put on the ready very hot pizza after the baking process. Not before, cause it would burn and become dry.

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system. The Installer detects an old version 3.6.1.9 from May and removes it. The program accepts the existing registration key.

The *helpercompact.exe and the *helper.exe is installed in different directories and installed as startup.

A company without name and address : Back to 2004, several young computer lovers gathered together and formed iSkysoft Studio to develop multimedia software for Windows platform.

We had had several programs in the last year from this company with multiple names (Aimersoft, Wondershare). Today's software is digitally signed as Wondershare. Don't forget to download the additional resources in the expert main window. If you have installed the previous version, they are already installed.

Claim : The Easy-to-use Video Editor that Anyone Can Use

That's good. I am a newbie, so I can use this software without knowledge about video editing. Let's see.

I tested the system the "easy way" choose template->add files->export. I works as easy as it claims. Of course you can also use the expert mode.

You can watch the video here, 8.4 MB. A surprise... LOL

http://www.xup.to/dl,17867635/My_Video.mp4/

A quick and easy video editor. I'll keep the updated version.

Don't forget to clean up after installation.

Thank you and have a nice weekend!

Wow, what a seriously slow install... it slowed my computer to a crawl.

Looks similar to Sony's offering, which I used in the past and quite liked, however, is this worth $35? Time will tell, however, if its as slow in execution as it was in the install, I'll be deleting this PDQ.

Registered, no problems, but why oh why does that site, as well as GAOTD have to open so many tabs in my browser. Its dammed annoying.

From the looks of this, for the simple minded out there like me, this might be worth looking at. At least, for a political activist like me, I might use this to help oust our current Government in the election next month. I like that you can titles, good for getting the message out there, as well as music.

I'll take a week to test it out, I'll report back to the forums whether or not I kept it.
