re comment about "foreign companies". Which ones are foreign?? GOTD is offered in 12 countries and 12 languages across the world, from Portugal to Japan and even across the ocean in North America (see the drop down at the top of this page). It would be really helpful to know which ones are foreign so I can tell if I need to watch out for evil programmers in my country, or beware of people that speak my first language.

Thank you

Hey Giovanni, You may want to refine your google searches a little more if you aren't going to look at the links you post. The first one, Windows Live Photo Gallery does have gallery in the name, but it is an image editor. (also more appropriate to link to a vendors homepage ie http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-live/photo-gallery-get-started , rather than just another freeware site.) Eight of the links have absolutely nothing to do with todays Giveaway software so it will be fun to watch the sheeple give you 100+ thumbs up.

Set Zemana to "ask for confirmation" for all, clear the rules, and you may be surprised at the photo/video apps that automatically connect to your webcam. I don't even have one on my desktop, so got a laugh when my new media theater software tried to connect. Probably not an issue, especially with GOTD's track record for clean software.

I have fuddled around with iPixSoft and it is easy to use. No crashes or errors on Win7 x64. I have seen similar layouts on different websites so 14.95 might be worth it to someone who really needs this.

Thanks GOTD

Well I downloaded their trial version of the same program offered here from the vendors website and I had to say I was dumbfounded as I was trying it out it has a register button on it but when you click on it it takes you to the website and asks you to purchase a license yet there is no place to put the registration key on their demo version.

I am also concerned about the program accessing my web cam as well and what other things it will access.

Uninstalled

One positive aspect of this software is the ability to include hyperlinks within the flash animation...however the overall look of the slideshows are strictly amateurish and outdated. Typical of most these software, the HTML produced does not include a professional embedding scripts...as a result the flash files are blocked by most IE browsers by default....While I appreciate the software developer allowing us to try the product, there is absolutely no way the price of the software can be justified.

URGENT - PLS HELP

After reading Ashraf's and Giovanni's comment about Zemana AntiLogger, I downloaded and installed this program.

Now, I cannot type anything using the keyboard. I cannot even do system restore because I canot type in my password.

WILL APPRECIATE ANY HELP, AS TO how I can resolve this issue.

Thank you

#9 - Windows has a built-in screen capture utility. It does not work on some videos and other program directed screen draws but it works for almost everything. Make sure your Function Key toggle is off (usually the light is not lit when off) and simply hit the "PrtScr" button at the top right of your keyboard. Then go to whatever program you use for editing photos and create a "new" screen. Most programs open to a new screen as default. Then simply "paste". "Paste" is sometimes on the "file" menu, or just right click on the new screen and "paste" or use the "CTRL-V" to paste. It should copy everything you see on your monitor and then simply use the crop function of your graphic program to crop out what you don't need.

Sounds complicated but it is really very simple once you've done it a couple of times. Hope this helps.

I won't be downloading and installing this program as it is in a super-saturated segment of free alternatives.

Access to the webcam for no reason?

I've beeen a contributor here and user of Giveaways here for a long time, but my patience has wore out.

Today's deal is a stinker,

and from the developer's very generic website: About ipixsoft,
"Our mission is to help customers make their photo lives efficiently and easily by providing them with innovative, powerful and easy to use photo software products."

Lesson One: If these foreign companies are really this far from having any kind of resemblance to a professional organization, and/or their software doesn't even pass the most basic test for appropriate behaviors, then aren't we nurturing a venue for Malware distribution? This is a company that claims to have a good photo/multimedia software and they can't even create a decent website... and their own description of themselves is not even a coherent statement - In their own language they typed a long disjointed message, shoved it through a translater, and expected that nobody would bother to actually try to read it through. This goes beyond ignorance and into the realm of negligence... or worse.

Please stop the insanity GOTD! Please start pre-screening the riff-raff. Even if there is a reasonable explaination, it should have been clarified to GOTD - and the horrible representation on these sites is unacceptable. I really have to question anyone who would load software into their computer when it comes from such a shoddy source. If we don't get rid of offers like this, it ruins it for everybody. The legit companies deserve better, and GOTD doesn't need deals like this which will inevitably get you shut down in one way or another.

It seems many of these Giveawayoftheday companies do not include contact information with a business mailing address on their home websites. I for one am done installing software on my PC that is not being produced in the US or is not from a reputable international company that has a mailing address. The suspicious behavior of this software is a good reason for all to do that same. Who knows what kind of identity, security risks you have subjected yourself to by installing this "homeless" software.

After testing it, I found that this software contains a back door access to your computer and files. Calls home base at random time intervals and tries to make a connection with your other peripherals.
Uninstalled immediately and clean the pesky residues left after uninstalling.

First of all - thanks to GOTD for alerting me to a possible solution. Although IE9 showed that Flash was installed - I had assumed everything was working correctly. GOTD's suggestion led me to investigate further. This is for others who may have the same difficulties as I when using the software...

1. Make sure that IE9's ACTIVE X FILTERING (under tools/safety) is UNCHECKED.
2. Despite the fact you may show Flash installed, nevertheless - go to ADOBE again and re-install Flash Player. For some reason, unchecking the Active X Filter does not automatically enable nor allow Flash to run.
3. After re-installing Flash in your IE9, restart it. Everything should work fine now and the software should initiate with no error messages.

THANKS AGAIN GOTD!

Oh... BTW..... I recommend the software!

#9, no. Windowed programming is based on the concept of region. You don't have actual "planes" of windows. The screen is always something flat and the depth is an "illusion". Each running program receives from the operating system the coordinates of the region to draw. Iconized or totally covered programs don't receive draw commands.

A window capturing software asks the system for the position of the window to catch (usually you provide the title of the window or the name of the program) and then it captures what is shown at that coordinates. If the program you want to record does not draw its frames, you can't capture anything...

Lovely... not only does this software not work, but now a previous giveaway by this company (Ipixsoft Flash Slideshow) no longer works as well. I now get the SAME ERROR MESSAGE on it, whereas before I installed today's giveaway - it DID WORK. Unless I see a solution offered by this company forthwith in regards to a solution - my advise would be to avoid this software if you don't want complications.

Regarding the security issue, I can only say what I say to all programs offered by unknown vendors: never install any program that you don't entirely trust on a PC that you also use for tranferring confidential information. Just a matter of common sense.

hmmm very suspicious behaviour.... ZEMANA ANTILOGGER warned me too exactly as occurred to Ashraf.

9 pre designed templates are not enough for me, even though you are allowed to customize them!!!

So to settle things once and for all....

But if you like me prefer to create more professional slideshows, with tons of effects to apply for FREE, ready to burn in your CD/DVD...well...once again there's no problem about that:

With so many websites (FB,Flickr etc...) fit to upload & share photo with others, apps like this GAOTD are nowadays becoming pretty much useless in my view.

So, how about create awesome MOVIES from your pics for FREE, rather than old-fashioned Flash Album Galleries??

Downloaded the software and installed it. Got an immediate error message stating that I didn't have Adobe Flash Player installed (which I do have). Nevertheless, I went to the Adobe website, downloaded the current Flash Player, installed it. Tried to open the software again, with the same results (error message). Uninstalled the software, reinstalled it. Opened it - again got the error message. What gives?

Hello P.Wallace,

try to make sure you install latest version of Adobe Flash Player in your IE browser (even if you do not use it as default). Usually it solves the mentioned problem for this developer.

#8 Kerim - There's 365 days in a year. As a photo guy, I find the weeks of no photo stuff to be as frustrating as you do these weeks of little to no audio stuff. But, I just keep clicking back, and eventually they come back around.

Patience is a virtue, my friend. (One which I have to work on as well)

Smooth download/installation/activation/registration on Win-7 64-bit. Click "Register" button to activate pre-populated codes to convert program to fully registered version. Also, yes, the program comes with only 9 pre-designed templates, but it allows users to customize templates (using given many clipart options and one's own photos) to create new ones. Thanks to GOTD & iPixSoft for this nice software.

This seems highly similar to iPixSoft Flash Slideshow Creater given away mov 2009! That had 35+ Free Pre Designed Templates! Haven't downloaded above software until I see more posts from other gotd users! Maybe somebody else has prior version might try an experiment an try transfering templates from old version to this version due fact it says has only 9 templates! The old iPixSoft Flash Slideshow Creater seems to do same things as above version but with a dfferent name? I only used old version 3 times! Work good though!

Sorry, the price is stupid and for the people who want to remind everyone that it's free. If you like it you'll have to re install it someday, then you pay. There are dozens of free alternatives better than this (considering the price)that have more options. I tried it, despite the price, and I'd pay $25 or $30 for it but $99 is silly.

Pros
*Straightforward and easy to use
*Has well-designed, aesthetically templates for you to use
*Each template can be customized on a per-gallery basis, such as adding more text, using an image for the background, adding clipart (150+ clipart available for you pick from), changing template size, and rearranging template buttons
*Allows you to input images and/or videos in galleries; all major image and video formats supported including to JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, SWF, AVI, FLV, MPEG, MP4, and WMV
*Allows for transitions between images/videos in galleries; 74 transitions available in total, by my count, and the duration of transitions can be customized
*Each image/video you input into a gallery can be edited; video can be trimmed, cropped, and/or muted while images can be cropped, rotated, flipped, brightness modified, and/or contrast modified
*Each gallery can have up to 500 images and/or images, and the duration of each can be customized
*Background sound can be added to galleries
*Galleries can be outputted as SWF, standalone EXE (which can optionally be burned to disc), screensaver, video (AVI, MKV, WMV, FLV, MP4, MOV, or MPG, with optional HD resolution), and HTML 5 video; galleries can also be uploaded online to developer’s website (which can then be shared with others via link or embedded on websites or social network profiles that support embedding),

Cons
*Has only 9 templates for you to pick from
*Uploaded galleries are automatically deleted after 1 year; you must re-upload to keep them alive
*A bit slow in outputting galleries
*Not 100% bug free
*According to Zemana AntiLogger, iPixSoft Flash Gallery Factory tried to access my webcam multiple times (no reason for it to do that, as far as I can tell)
