First of all it misread the size of my Video, 1.9GB as 1GB. After running my quad-core processor at 100%, constantly for well over 48 hrs(Normally my CPU doesn't go higher than 10-15%), it was just past the halfway point when a power-surge rebooted my external HDD. It immediately jumped to the end and said it was done. I had hoped the partial file would at least play, but it wont.

What happened to the 8 minute conversions?

I installed version 7.5 of the DVD ripper/converter last December when it was a GAOD. A few weeks later, it reverted to unregistered trial. I have left it installed waiting for it to come around again. Tonight I uninstalled it before installing this version. It prompted me to fill out a "why are you uninstalling" survey but surprise...survey not available. From what I remember the few times I was able to use it, I preferred the interface to WinX which has been my go to converter since. I will try again and hopefully it will be more than a 2-3 week trial. I am hesitant to buy from them because what happens when they upgrade versions and render my paid version obsolete?

Using version 9.1, I tried merging two mp4 files but the program never made any progress. The first file was 1:38:34 long, and the second was 0:15:22 (approximately an hour and a half combined with approximately 15 minutes of mp4 video). The program was not hung because the Cancel button was active, and would ask if I wanted to truly Cancel when clicked. After several hours, the temporary files were not being updated, so I did Cancel through the program interface. I contacted Wonderfox to see how long I should expect the Merge to take place but never received a response. I thought the details of my attempt might be helpful to the Wonderfox Team. I could provide access to a copy of the source files if needed. I was able to combine the two using a different program.

There is free software called mp4joiner. For me it takes a couple of minutes for files 45 minutes long.

After installing and registering this program with the GOTD code I found that some buttons are greyed out. What looks like the cropping button and the enhancement button (magic wand icon). Are others having the same problem with these buttons greyed out.
It's difficult to know what the full program is like with these buttons greyed out and I did register the program with the correct code but I feel like I'm using a trail of this program.

Feedback needed please.

pretty nice software, i have tested a handful of videos and formats, i haven't had any crashing, though about 50% of the time there is no sound, but other than that it really can shrink videos a lot and the result is pretty good, it blurs a bit, i guess to avoid artifacts, but it does a pretty decent job

thumbs up from here

Does this software REALLY not convert .ts files? That and .vob are all I would use it for. But if it does convert these two types, can it keep subtitles as an option, rather than imposed or ignored, which is all any software I've found can do.

Works perfectly so far. I really like the ringtone app too. Happy converting.

i converted a .mov to mp4 from my iphone 4.

the .mov was originally on its side and it continues to be on its side and i've looked for any option to rotate it and cannot find it.

the size of the .mov file and the converted .mp4 file are exactly the same, and it went very quickly, but it was a very small file to begin with.

i'm disappointed i can't find how to rotate the file (if it is possible).

oristo po, #21 not sure what you mean by:

"Unlike HandBrake 0.10.6962, it automatically detected rotation of iPhone 4S .mov;"

Having a technical problem. I clicked on the download file for HD Video Converter Factory Pro 9.1, but after installation, the program title is "Format Factory 3.6.0". So, not seeing a place to put the registration key, I went to HELP, clicked on "Check new Version," which results in the following error message: Windows cannot find "c:\users\m***\AppData\Local\Temp\FFSetupLatest.exe." Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. I seem to have downloaded the freeware version...

What am I doing wrong?

Good to see a converter that supports not only multi CPU but also Nvidia and AMD GPU.

Shame that there is no Intel quicksync though to complete the options.

H265 was of particular interest to me and whilst it does do the job and produces a nice small file, it did for me, take too long without quicksync support but did fair a little better with an AMD GPU.

For H264 it's still not as quick as my trusty Aieesoft converter that has yet to be beaten for speed but not bad for a converter with enough options for most, albeit not the full control that I would expect from any product with Pro in it's name.

The bad: This program very often shows wrong duration of the film and copys only the duration it shows. This makes it unuseable for me.

The good: sometimes it is really awesome fast. Using the GPU depends on what the source file was.

My Comuter: Core2Duo E8400, AMD 5770, Windows XP home SP3.

Suggestions:
What about supporting two audiostreams, e.g. english AND a chooseable other language?
What about supporting normal subs AND forced subs in two languages as softsub in MKV?

Hi, the free version of some video converter is doing much more than this annoying unnecessary pop up software. The free video converter provide, not only audio choice but also subtitle, it has forced subtitles menu, when if selected would convert the video format with subtitles intact. Here that feature is disabled.
Moreover, the annoying popup really kills you. There is no x marak to close the program. Why this is resorted.

Unlike HandBrake 0.10.6962, it automatically detected rotation of iPhone 4S .mov;
also unlike Handbrake, it does not allow audio to be omitted.
It did not seem appreciably faster or slower at converting to H264 MP4 on my I5 Windows 8.1 desktop.

While 9.1 seems to have installed without a hitch, it immediately informs the user that version 9.2 is available and that they should upgrade now (even though this will probably invalidate the existing licence). It's a fiddly process to dismiss the announcement and if it continues to nag, will make future use of the product a pretty miserable experience.

The wonderfox video converters have been a long lasting giveaway offer, I´ve tested about 4 earlier versions; they have never stayed on my computer very long. Problems with cropping, audio/video synchronicity, non predictable output (settings did not match the resulting output).
Seeing some euphoric comments on this updated version I tested again, maybe something has changed?
Tested with different video´s, in former versions the crop function did not work correctly (still black bars after cropping and changing of aspect ratio). I tried it on two video´s. After some time converting the program shows a ¨can not be converted" error when cropping is applied. Conversion is relatively slow.
The problems with the interface stayed: there is a batch functionality but only 10 can be added and it is only possible to choose one output container for them all (others can batch output to different formats, (nice for having one converted movieclip on your computer and another for your mobile device(s)).
Manual settings is still somewhat erratic; e.g. chosing 4:3 output for a 16:9 video on youtube does not change the aspect ratio in the output as set. This is an important issue; lots of youtube clips have aspect ratio problems (the aspect-ratio should be independent to the ratio of the number of horizontal and vertical pixels by the way).
Tested it four times on different video´s: it still does not operate correctly. Conclusion: the known errors are still not fixed. Uninstalled again.

By no means am I an expert in software "tricks", but I try to be careful and make sure just in case... Hence, my question to our experts.

Version 7.0 offered by GOTD some time ago, attempted to install FirstOff.exe on my computer.
Today I see here
http://www.advanceduninstaller.com/HD-Video-Converter-Factory-Pro-8_5-37fd5abaee2b94ff9d72cd973e07f43a-application.htm
that there are similar problems with version 8.5.

Malwarebytes and some other antivirus sites seem not to like Firstoff.exe

How about today’s version? And what this FirstOff.exe issue is about?

"Does this program convert .wtv files recorded from MS Windows Media Center? "

If they have DRM, nothing will.

Microsoft came out with their DVR-MS with their 1st Media Center based on XP, & kept it for Vista. Win7 saw the addition of HD & DRM, & the DVR-MS format became .wtv -- same format but with provisions for DRM added. Wtv video passes through a special filter, & if it finds a DRM flag, it acts accordingly. Some recordings will have no restrictions, some will expire, many will only play on that PC/laptop unless you use a MC Extender, all depend on how that DRM flag is set.

Windows has a built-in .WTV to DVR-MS converter BTW, but it will only be available & work if the video is unrestricted. In the US, with HD that usually means the over the air broadcast channels only -- everything else has DRM.

My main use for a video converter is to convert tv programs recorded on my Humax satellite receiver (.ts) into xvid for playing on my portable device. All this program does when trying to convert one is display a message box headed "Tips" and a message "can not be converted", making it of no use to me whatsoever.

When testing the program converting an mp4 to xvid, my portable devices resolution of 720*406 (16:9) was not available from the drop-down list, though I did resolve this problem by editing the "format.dat" file. The conversion speed of the program was identical to my converter of choice, the free XMedia Recode, and not 50x faster as WonderFox Soft would have you believe.

I'll stick with XMedia Recode.

Uninstalled.

Thank you GAOTD

I grabbed this HD video converter owing to the support of H265/HEVC, has quite a few advantages over H.264 like better compression, delicate image and bandwidth saving.
http://i.imgur.com/Qz2Fm3t.png

I converted several HD video files that include a piece of H265 video clip. Though I've used their free version before, I have to say the H265 encoder of this program is pretty much what I want. Compared with my favorable HD conversion freeware *WinX Free HD Video Converter (http://www.winxdvd.com/video-converter/) it's still a handy alternative stuff that would better to chuck away.

Reply   |   Comment by Juan_Peris  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

That's funny. You may be a sockpuppet of WinX. I am probably not the most qualified person to evaluate it as an expert. However, as far as I tried WinX Free Converter before, with the H265 codec, the program simply crashes. Not as fast as today's giveaway and Aiseesoft product. Shame on you. :(

Reply   |   Comment by Darnell_F  –  8 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+7)

"Compared with my favorable HD conversion freeware *WinX Free HD Video Converter ... it’s still a handy alternative..."

Similar apps, both using ffmpeg, but they treat your Windows install a little differently. Wonderfox installs in its program folder & adds a folder with a couple of files to My Documents -- WinX puts a Lot of files in the User folders. It's not a huge deal, making it a little more work to find & make sure the stuff in the User folder is gone when you uninstall, but with the frequent updates for these converters [even as giveaways], & the large number of converters available, it's enough for me to not have WinX on my PC.

There's also a matter of trust... WinX found itself in a situation where one of their converters was being distributed with a key but without their permission. They *turned off* that giveaway version of their converter entirely -- the app phones home to check its license & so turning it off was a fairly simple matter. Folks who had a legitimate copy were SOL. I can understand their point of view, & their actions, but I'm not fond personally of running any software where the developer has their hand on the off switch [I don't like it with Windows either, but their video converters are not Windows].

Have always liked this company’s converter because of the selection of the output interface and today's is no exception.
Did a number of conversions but had problems with MP4 and MKV; whatever settings I used the output was just a grey screen with a few random coloured pixels.
Just to make sure it wasn't something in my system tested the same files in another converter to MP4 with the same encoder (H264) without the slightest problem.

Very disappointing as I really like this interface.

I had prior installs from both 2013 and 2014 (version 7.?), so I had to have this version and un-installed the two older versions.

This is great software, however the five nag screens that I was FORCED to click through before even registering the program were annoying. One screen would have been fine, but five?

Even with the install nag screens this is very good software (I have not tested it yet, but the older versions did well so I expect this new version will work well also) - well worth the install annoyance.

Thanks Wonderfox and GOTD.

2. NEW FEATURE: WonderFox Ringtone Studio has been embedded. (Design for iOS& Android)

Well I always waited for a Ringtone Studio in a Video converter...

Upon start a modern looking, non resizable small interface opens. In the options you can define the behavior number of used cores, priority, GPU acceleration.
http://i.imgur.com/CfgK2y3.png

I looked into the Ringtone Studio, well it is not really "Studio", it is a small cleaned space on mothers kitchen table. You add an audio file, you can define with a slider start end, define the output as phone or SMS and that's it. No options for anything concerning the audio input/output. Well this is version 1.0, but why the big claim:
http://i.imgur.com/nMfLTwY.png

I will rename my copy command to "File Multipler Studio Professional Platinum Edition"

Since the changelog shows some bug fixes and the only NEW option is the ringtone studio, you may read my former comments to the video conversion.

Uninstalled via reboot - the Ringtone Studio is no big improvement.

Have a good start into this new week.

The link is incorrect for "HD Video Converter Factory Pro + WonderFox DVD Ripper Pro bundle pack at $19.95." It is the same link at the $14.95 video converter. Can you please correct so some of us can purchase at this discount?

Hi, oops - seems the two links above take you to the same link showing the same price, unless my eyes are not in synch yet, went to a wedding last night ;0)

Just a thought, I bought the pro version last time around, and just wondered is it possible for me to buy the dvd pro pack as a bundle pack for the difference price above?

In Europe it´s not common to handle with prices without taxes. I want to buy your offer but the price I should pay is higher: No, thank you and keep it...

@ keepit comment: You'd probably do well not to raise the spectre of international taxation because (a) it's complicated and (b)no-one has a duty to pay a tax unless obliged to do so. This is a Chinese developer with no retail presence in Europe; what is it, then, that you're hankering after: a demand to pay monies to the Chinese government in Beijing??

Wonderfox is to be commended for playing straight with European (and other countries) consumers because I for one am fed up with scam developers who add 20% Value Added Tax to the software price they calculate in £GBP when the charge is entirely illegal because the developer is not registered for VAT and can not display a VAT number or UK registered office on its website. The product + tax trick is worked assiduously by a number of scumbag East European software publishers but, thankfully, isn't an issue I've noticed where Chinese software publishers are concerned.

Kudos, then, to Wonderfox, both for being open and honest, and thanks to it and GOTD for a nice giveaway today. As to your desire to pay more than you need to because of your concern about taxation . . . Sheesh.

When you click on " I have a coupon " and you fill in the couponcode in the link of Livy: GOTD-727-HD you will get the discount. The link does not fill in the coupon automatically somehow the first time you open the link.
