As there are not going to be any game giveaways this weekend, I thought I’d post some alternative. Both games below are good quality games imo. The first one is an excellent 3D RTS on the lines of the command & conquer series. It's easy to play, with relatively simple controls though you'll need to put aside a decent amount of time to play it, whereas the second game a decent tower defense game can be played in those off moments you may have spare between jobs or games. Though it's also a decent game in its own right. :)

In Warzone 2100, you command the forces of "The Project" in a battle to rebuild the world after mankind has almost been destroyed by nuclear missiles. The game offers campaign, multi-player and single-player skirmish modes. An extensive tech tree with over 400 different technologies, combined with the unit design system, allows for a wide variety of possible units and tactics.
The game comes with a tutorial and is really easy to start. The basic controls are:
Controls:
All mouse controlled.
Esc: Option menu (options, save, load, exit)
Mouse scroll wheel: Zoom
Right click on the minimap to get there
Warzone 2100 was an innovative 3D real-time strategy game back in 1999 (developed by Pumpkin Studios and published by Eidos-Interactive), and most
will agree it didn't enjoy the commercial success it should have had. The game's
source code was liberated on December 6th, 2004, under a GPL license.

Castle Defense: (<1Mb)
This is a standard Tower defense game with winding roads leading up to a castle. you have to purchase cannons to stop the enemy from reaching the castle. thje roads are desined in such a way that placement of your cannons is an important factor to consider when placing them. You earn money when you kill enemies which can then be spent on more cannons.
You have to stop the enemies from destroying the castle. If they do you've lost the game. :)
As the game progresses there will be more enemies to kill. The game is relatively short with only 10 levels, but it'll give you a good 20 to 30 minutes of distraction. (Or more if you fail to keep the hoards from destroying your castle
You need Net Framework 2.0 for this game to run. If you don't have it installed you can download it from the following address:
If you're not sure whether you've got it, unpack the game and copy it to wherever you wish it to go then create a short cut to the desktop; then try and run the game. If it won't run, you probably don't have the program installed.
