Hi Darnell42, I checked out freeridegames, but refused to go to their site when I saw tey were full of red circles using The Web of Trust (WOT. It immediately sent warnng signals through my head as i've come to trust WOT over the last year. You can read the WOT report on freeridegames by clicking HERE

darnell, if I recall correctly, freeridegames is similar to mostfun.com games, using ads, but FRG's ads are intrusive. They have an ad banner taking up part of the screen with the ads running constantly while you're playing a game, and it's distracting as well as annoying.

Whiterabbit:
Thanks so much for sharing the link to "The Web of Trust" add on.
WOW... I installed it and am running it concurrently with the McAfee Site Advisor.
WOT is far more accurate than the McAfee SA program. Specific sites that are reported as AOK (Green check) on McAfee are reading as (Red) flags on the WOT Program. (As the Robot on the old TV show, "Lost in Space" used to say, "Warning, Warning" with those flailing Michelin Tire Like Arms.) (HA).
I recently visited a site that had the McAfee Good Housekeeping Green Seal of Approval. Immediately, my Spysweeper program alerted me to a possible Malicious Rootkit so I exited pronto and ran my antivirus etc. programs to ensure that no transference had occurred. (Thank God it had not.)After installing the WOT add on for IE7, it reported the same site as being in the Red Zone/Do not visit. So WOT seems to be much more on the ball and current in it's analysis. I was so pleased with
it, I sent it to all of my friends on email for their PC's.FreeRideGames is listed as green check (AOK) on McAfee SA, which is obviously erroneous.
I think I will be trusting WOT instead of the other, although I will keep both running out of curiosity to see how each rates a site. Thanks for another good call, WR.

Generally it's a matter of preference, but I do agree that WOT appears to be much more accurate. Also many of Site Advisors warnings are out of date. e.g. for around a year this site was marked as Red by McAfee due to someone posting a freeware application that contained some malicious code. This was removed as soon as it was discovered, but McAfee didn't remove the red warning for nearly a year. I joined the Site ADvisor team and mentioned the removal, but they didn't do anything about it for several months. I then discovered WOT through these forums (can't remember who ctually mentioned it, but I think it may have been BuBBy) Shortly thereafter I removed Site Advisor and use WOT exclusively now. I'm sure both have their down sides, but WOT has given me good results so far.

Seeing as the Freeride games discussion has taken a detour: :)
The difference how McAfee and WOT work is significant. The WOT ratings can be affected by actual users. If you agree or disagree with the ratings - register an account and rate the site yourself. Don't forget to also read what other users have to say - some users are spot on, others are full of .... You can dispute other users comments and suggest that their comments get reviewed. Over time each reviewer will be rated based on contribution to the Web Of Trust.
McAfee has a bot that looks for a few things every few weeks/months/years? If it finds something the site will be flagged red - until the next scan - even if the problem is fixed the same day as the original scan.
Unless you are really familiar with the site - remember the ratings are always only a guideline. If you are in doubt - play it safe & go somewhere else.
Also investigate sandbox apps like http://sandboxie.com/
It can save your behind. There is a FREE as well as a PAY version. The free version is perfectly fine for standard web surfing use. Go there NOW and download a copy.Posted 15 years ago # -
Thank You, BuBBy. It is appreciated. I apologize for getting off track on the forum topic of FreeRide Games.
PS: I visited the Sandboxie website. From what I read, for my PC, which is Vista 64bit, it appears that SandBoxie is not compatible with Vista 64. I would have loved to have used it....
