I often check at the MostFun site(the site with down loadable, ad supported games)
The ads are VERY unobtrusive..and short.
I was pleased to discover a VERY challenging hidden object game there.
It is VERY delightfully done; a clever mix of hidden object AND point and click...(with some mini games thrown in)
I am still on the first level(did I say that it was challenging?)
I had to share it here, as I KNOW so many of you love this game genre.
Oh yes, the name is, "Treasure Masters".

Thanks Merri... I've got that one already, and must say I hit a blank spot so forgot I had it! Maybe now I'll go back to try it again!

I just downloaded it; said something about 'free trial with ads'. I don't recall seeing that on any of the other games I've downloaded from mostfun.com. Thanks for sharing that with us, Merri. :D

I got it free for Beta testing it about four months ago. It's a very good game that I've still to finish. I think I satopped because I was stuck at one point. :) Thanks Merri.

Quite a few of them are free trial with ads. The ads aren't that long or often, so you can still get to play a good game and not have to buy it. And I got stuck on Treasure Masters too!

    Hi Copmom!
    Oh good!
(I didn't know how long it has been at MostFun as I didn't scroll right down the list lately.
I wish they would put the newest games at the top...
It's a good game even though I have had to replay the first level ..lol

    Hi Stephen!
    You are very welcome!
    Yes it is QUITE challenging..lol.
I wear glasses, but have found that I have to take them off and PEER hard at the screen to find things..lol.

Gosh, Merri, that's pretty 'bad' having to take off your glasses to find the objects...lol. I wear glasses, too; can just see family members walking in, and finding me with my nose 1" from the screen...lol. They would be telling me, "why don't you just put on your glasses, so you can see the screen, properly...lol".

YES I have had my husband telling me this..lol.
I don't know, maybe it's cause the glasses are progressives but often it seems easier to take them off...

    Thanks Merri for the alert.
We often check the Home page of MostFun assuming that their new games would be listed there first.
So, after your posting, we scrolled down their full list to find near the bottom a load of new goodies that we had missed.
Seems strange of MostFun to do things this way - still who am I to tell them how to do things.
My wife is now on Chapter 4 of Treasure Masters after a very short time - her progressives working at top speed!

Trevanbabz; it's ODD isn't it, the way Most Fun does that.
I am at level 3, (I think) there are so many rooms to this one level.
    Good for her!
LOL about the progressives. I am leaving mine on more, and getting used to them for such games..
I love that there are no time restrictions (if one so desires) and that one can play the level over again if need be..

    Copmom, I am currently struggling..lol.
    :)
I don't want to give up yet.
I finally found my email with the link for the free little shop of treasures 2 and have that on the go too.

Hi, new to the forums but not to gamegiveaway.

Wasn't sure where to post this, but checked out the mostfun site and downloaded the small exe file in order to download a game but that's as far as it would go. I'd get the d/l window saying file being downloaded but after an hour, nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks GrouchE; I had used Firefox first, but then switched to IE but no luck.
I'll try contacting their support and see if they can help also.
I also tried disabling my popups and firewall.

    Hi sixtyplus
I have had this problem with a lot of their games, and have contacted their support, who just tell me to clear files, cookies etc. which does not work.

I even downloaded the mostfun game player, which is good if you lose connection as what has been downloaded so far remains, and you can continue, but unfortunately a lot of the new games are not put on there which I find strange, would have thought all games should be on there.

Thanks for the info Dianne. I did go ahead and install the game player, which did start to download a game up to 21% then a window popped up with "come back later".
Is there site closed down at certain hours?

    sixtyplus and Diane16,

Are you running Windows XP or Vista? When I got my Vista laptop alot of their games were not compatible. They have been upgrading most of the games for quite awhile and I can now download most, but there are still some that are only XP compatible. Just a thought.
I downloaded the Law&Order game the other day and all goes OK until I try to play it, then I get the "An unexpected error has occurred" message and the game quits. Otherwise I have never had a problem.
I hope you are able to get an answer from support, theirs is not one of the most responsive.
Good luck to both of you.

Hi sixtyplus, not sure if they close their site for certain hours, I have managed to download the games I wanted at different times.

Thanks Kerikaz, I have Windows XP and have had no problems with games I managed to download, but as all the new games are only on their main site now, I have come to a dead end, as only being on dial up they take too long to download.

I'm running WinXP SP2 and no problems downloading anything from most fun. Just got through completing a good one.. Righteous Kill .. a hidden object game. I recommend it to anyone that likes those type games!

Update; I was pleased they responded the day after I emailed them and they were very pleasant.
Diane, I did follow the same instructions they gave you and was able to download one game, but when I tried a second one later then it stopped at 45%. I did use the game manager, but sadly runs continuously in the background. Even unchecking it from msconfig didn't help as it was back in the tray the next day. Will probably uninstall unless someone has more info on it.
I too have dial-up but will just find things to do while downloading anything...like laundry, cleaning house....

Keri, I run Win XP/SP2 Home edition. I'm grateful for any games that are offered for free, and am presently addicted to casual gaming.

Copmom, I also got hooked on HOG's. Sadly the majority have a "sticker price" and not that many have gone retail.

I also discovered HOG's awhile back and can't seem to get enough. Alot of people complain because that seems to be all that's coming out lately, but I for one, don't mind, lol.

I hope you all are able to get the problem with MostFun resolved, they have some really good games on there.

Interestingly, when I got my Vista Laptop and started adding their games to it, it does not add a Game Manager. It adds the game to my desktop and I created a folder for them. I like that alot better than the GM.

    Good luck and happy gaming!

    copmom(and all);
I too am addicted to Hidden Object games..I was looking at that righteous kill game; glad to know it is good!(My eyes are becoming hidden objects too..lol!)
Diane, I find it odd that the new games are not in the game manager.
I tend to avoid it anyway and only get the games which are free standing(if I can!)
Sixty plus, hope that your problem with downloading is fixed soon!
Iwin is also bad for their game manager, I made the mistake of getting a game from them(an ad driven one) and now the game manager is always in my task manager; even when I went to the actual area of my computer, found the file and checked for it NOT to load at startup.
Beyond that I don't want to monkey with the registry...

I got the same problem with iWin after trying one of their ad supported games. I couldn't even exclude the program from my start up menu using Anvir security suite or Ashampoo Win Optimizer. That seems really insiduous to me. I decided to get rid when those pop ups started to arrive informing me of new games. I won't be going anywhere near iWin again.

Speaking of ad-supported games sites, is anybody familiar with Free Ride Games at http://www.freeridegames.com/do/generalsId=xtn1011046&jspName=landingPage&landingName=LP6 ?

I wonder if this is the games site that has the ads running on the left side of the page WHILE the game is being played. Talk about annoying - was so distracting from the game, it WAS annoying, and I got rid of it. I don't mind ad-supported games, like mostfun.com does/has, but the other one I described, I do.

    Rabbit..yes Iwin is pretty scary..
ESPECIALLY if those two programs couldn't exclude it..
I did buy a couple of games from them when they were having various half price sales.
It is annoying that the games always open with the manager(even though I own them)
One can close the manager afterwards but I know that I won't buy any more from them again for just that reason.

I've tried to avoid distributors that emply a compulsory game manager after buying several games from Real Arcade. I found it was obtrusive, plus the fact that you required an internet connection to register the games meant that it wasn't easy to transfer the games to a computer that wasn't connected. Though recently (due to dwindling resources) I decided to try a years subscription to Big Fish Games. It was worth it for the cheapness of the games, but I still find the games manager annoying.

As for the add supported games. So far I've not bothered with them as I've bought most of the games I like already (I've been lucky). There are a few new ones that I haven't tried yet, but those I'll purchase with my BFG credits if I think they are worth it.

iWin are going to have to change their practice otherwise I think they will find a dwindling customer base.
