I thought it would be interesting to hear from those of the community, who swear by Firefox, what their favorite Firefox plug-in’s are.

I believe there’s hundreds of firefox plug-ins available, so please give a brief description of those you've found either invaluable, or just useful to have around, and is there any that you think are useless or pointless?

    WR, cool idea!

Mine is, definitely, CoLT . It makes copying and pasting hyperlinks to forums and BBs a breeze. :)

Here are some instructions and tutorials that I made for my friends on how to use CoLT.

I'd like to thank BuBBy for pointing me to this and some other great add-ons.

But, in all fairness, NoScript is the next best, and IETab is the most convenient.

Mine is IE View.. there are some programs that won't allow FireFox for updates, etc. Like Microsoft and McAfee, so I just right click on the page and view in IE, and WOT as a site advisor.

When I USED to use FF I liked ABP, NS, Tab renamizer, WOT, SA, Google Toolbar, Yahoo toolbar, and some others. Now I don't use it.

  11. A couple of months ago, I told Mr. B in a post here that I wasn't going to switch to FF because of the learning curve and I have too many programs on my PC right now I need to learn. Well, The Mango Princess finally talked me into it about a month ago as she promised to help. And....she kept her promise. I still have some things I am still working on and learning, but all in all... "I'm Loving It".

What I have below is my Dump List....Mangoette sent me hers when I decided to switch and it was a "heaven sent" as it gave me a guide line as to what to first download as "add ons". If you don't want them, don't download. But it basically gives you an idea as to what you can do with your browser. I bookmarked the actual pages of the add ons as I was installing so if I needed help, I knew where to go. Keep in mind..these are add ons for
    Firefox 2.

  12. WebMail Notifier Is great if you like being notified when you receive new email, you can even insert your own 'WAV' sound file to alert you to new mail, my wife LOVES this program, and the funny alert sounds I put on it for her, one is Bugs Bunny saying 'Whats this? A letter for me?'

    Posted 2 months ago #
  15. Well, the Bugs Bunny thing I got here- http://www.nonstick.com/sounds/
But the files are in MP3 I think, you need to have a program that can convert files to WAV, once you have that you are set....
If I remember any other sites for sounds I will post them....
Here is another one, they are already in WAV format, the Bugs one is on the first page, funny enough....

  17. I'll add my suggestions a little later - after I've removed the ones already mentioned.

I'll try to keep it to 5 or 6 general purpose ones that everyone can get some use from.

(hmm - now to reduce my list of favorites down to 5 or 6. Not an easy task).

    I hope I didn't forget anybody.

    BuBBy's link to
    Resizable Textarea
works, as I could see in this field.
    But "my"
    Hyperwords
is a wee bit annoying. The pop-up-window pops always at the "wrong" place up.
Could not find a settings-tool to change this.

FABScott: here's a link to their 'lite' version, which is free. First I used that for quite some time, then I did finally buy their full version. I do complete paragraphs with a shortkey. Most of the emails I get are for our business, and when I confirm an order, it got tiring having to type the same thing over and over.. so I use it to insert things into emails, Word, and everything else I run on here: http://www.shortkeys.com/lite.htm

Some of my very favorite Firefox extensions are:

RSS Ticker (It shows all my rss feeds in a ticker, and is customizable)

Colorful Tabs (I like having different colors for my tabs to kind of keep them separate)

Autofill Forms (Now when I have to type something in on a different computer, I get all frustrated!)

eQuake Alert (Just so I can see where big earthquakes are taking place)

Forecast Fox (Instant access to the weather, although it goes to Accuweather.com, and sometimes the radar there is so far off it's funny. But I do get accurate temps and somewhat accurate forcasts)

Download Helper (For those YouTube videos I just have to have)

Now all I need is for some of my other favorites, like Tab Mix Plus and Evernote to be updated to work with Firefox 3.0, and I'll be happy.
