Hi people, I have a computer that was working very well, but lately when I was working on a important project, there was a power fluctuation for a couple of times (I thought that was normal) but after the last power fluctuation my computer refused to boot up. There seems to be a failure of some kind…..but I need to get the projects back that are still in that disk.
I would be thankful if you could suggest any good tools to get the files and documents back.

Without any more information it is hard to give any clear help? You say it wont boot up. Is there any messages being presented on the monitor or won't the computer turn on at all?
If you don't have surge protection, power surges can cause havoc with computer components. One of the first components to be fried apart from the psu would be the RAM sticks. Though it could be the Mother Board or cpu as well. (you could ask to borrow a RAM stick and replace the ones you have and see if it's that.
If your project is really important, I would firstly give more information here. Copy down what the messages on the monitor say. There should be some sort of error message; or alternatively, where does the boot up sequence end?
If the computer looks like it's been fried, the next best thing would be to transfer your hard drive to another computer so that you can then retreive the files you need.
With todays plug and play hardware, it's easy enought to plug your HDD into another computer.

There are a number of recovery tools & options mentioned Here
In particular if you need immediate access to copy files from a hard drive (that won't boot) - either ntfs4dos or Trinity Rescue Kit
Of course, getting your PC working again would be preferable - but naming a tool or technique and giving you a fixed timeframe to do this is hardly an exact science and the joys of a power outage - you can never predict just what state your hard drive will be in.
Of course if the PC is fried, and won't power up - physically removing hard drives and installing them into a working computer remains an option (again hopefully the file system is still OK).
A message for future - power fluctuations might be "normal"... but Surge Filters, conditioned power supplies or other related devices can be cheap insurance to protect your computer and data. Also save your data/files frequently - and make regular backups.
This seems to be a case of disaster recovery. Disaster is just un-avoidable form of error.This cannot be avoided but some precautions can be taken. I think that, as this was due to a power fluctuation, there may be an effect in the working parts of the disk. You should consult a [url=http://www.diskemergency.com/]disaster recovery[/url]company to get your job done.This can be very frustating and may be worthless if you try to get the data back by yourself and the situation gets worse.So better take the safe route and get the projects saved in a reliable way.

look in the bios & auto teck Harddrive or look & see if it still read harddrive as for power fluctuation for a couple of times hard to say my PC still go ok,may be best fit harddrive in into another computer save time you know if it PC or Harddrive to fix & dont for get backup
