What the H*** is Side-by-Side-Configuration ?

    What the H*** is Side-by-Side-Configuration ?
    Sorry can't say much more about it.
    After starting ArtStudio I got the error message that the program could not be started, because the Side-by-Side-Configuration is invalid. Further infos should be in a protocol, that I cannot find.
    Vista 32 HomePremium, ATI Radeon X 1200.
    I WILL have this tool! angrily stamping my foot

    Does it have anything to do with a split system??? I have XP Media.

    Hi Graylox, I dont run Vista but did a quick Google and came up with a link for a solution for the side by side configuration problem. Hopefully this helps or at least the web page is able to provide more information to come up with a resolution for your Vista predicament.

    Thanks all for your help.
    Robert vcredist_x86.exe was not the solution, neither VS80sp1-KB932232-X86-ENU.exe.
    I googled and did not understand anything.
    Wanted to install

    but read that I have to uninstall .web2 see picture :

    And I thought I have a nice new puter, with everything I need or he needs...Hahaha

    Just saw that there is a version
    "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)"
    I'll try that one. But Just now M$ is downloading another update - 66.9MB-
    Did not say what it is, if they would say it, I would not understand it. So, I'll wait with patience and faith in BuBBy.

    I see you updated your post...

    I admire you efforts to install this toy app ,but I am not sure it is really worth going through all that trouble for.
    As I don't have pixel shade support on my graphics card I couldn't install this app.

    Thanks, Robert.
    You know, I have an empty 500 gig puter and I love to play with pictures.
    On my old system I have a lot of .8bf filters. They are so many, that I can't find the right one when needed. Therefore a program is better, it is much easier to find :)

    I think as posted by robm previously, that side-by-side is a new Vista "feature/error".

    I haven't yet upgraded from XP so unfortunately the program works perfectly for me.

    I will have a bit more of a read to see if there is anything that can be done to help your sticky situation.

    Thank you BuBBy, the link from robm doesn't help me, as I don't understand the questions of my puter, thou there are in German.
    After having installed vcredistX86 the system has become much slower as before and is in parts German in other parts English. Have deleted it now and will try a restart. To be continued...

    Happy End
    In the evening M$ sent me Vista Service Pack 1. After some time for installing and several reboots everything and everyone is happy !
    System runs fine and TATATA - ArtStudio works.
    I still don't know what the h*** side-by-side-configuration means, but how dull would life be without mysteries ?
