copmom.....i have six friends with computers, all purchased in the past two years, i installed all the protection needed, plus other stuff, when they have a problem, it is i who sort it out! yet when it comes to a Forum, i am lost, as you may have noted i only learned how to upload photo's and share, copy and paste to a Forum "since i came to this Forum" thanks to maizeydaze and scubaguy! meaning this as a compliment, maizeydaze is awesome on the net! and i love her as well!

Oooh, Paulga! I had no idea you felt this way about me...(I'm blushing. FYI, Except for Flickr, I've never uploaded, linked or really used forums prior to this one. We are all learning...self taught, too.

    Hi Paulga
Thankyou for your mention of me in the above post, but the real credit goes to maizey and the other members of the forum.Anything you may have inadvertenly learned from me is only due to the other members having taught me,and I thank them.
However it is with a heavy heart that I am deeply saddened that you do not profess your love for me as you do for maizey, Bwhahahahaha!!!
    Just kidding,sorry I just could'nt resist!!

Was wondering if anyone using vista home premium knows if there is something similar to the program that Paulga used (Microsoft Photo Story 3)within vista,or will Microsoft Photo Story 3 work with vista. It seems as if it is only for XP.
I have not had much time to explore all of vista's features, and am having problems with my XP system.
The reason I ask is that after viewing Paulga's photo montage,I would like to create one similar, as a small tribute to all of my family members who have served in the military and send to them as a remembrance.

scubaguy.....ah so you were impressed with Photo Story 3, yep a nice little program, there are others that give you the same features, however as you have Vista, they MAY not work, on the other hand there IS a similar program for VISTA named," Windows Live Photo Gallery " i only know of it through the site called " The Road To Know Where " at the following link http://bhandler.spaces.live.com/default.aspx it lists ALL Freeware for Windows XP and Vista, have a glance at it! oh not to worry about my FEELINGS towards you as compared to maizeydaze? i can see maizeydaze when i close my eyes.....blond hair blowing gently in the wind on some sandy beach with the scent of coconut oil, sipping a glass of white wine as i apply the sun lotion........oops sorry i drifted away there, any way if you produce a photo of yourself in a wetsuit? i could be swayed?

Now here's a little 'story' for y'all! It's a combo of spring at our home in the Smoky Mountains, and some pretty sky pictures taken here in the mountains!

Great kitty photos! I posted a reply there. I'm surprised at the way you described what I see, etc. I've always felt when looking at pretty things that we were taking pictures with our eyes. Now with digital cameras we can share what our eyes see! It's great!

scubaguy.....I found two programs apart from Windows Live Photo Gallery, that will work on Vista, both Free, the first is JAlbum 8, for Vista facilitates slideshows, has a free on line Registration after 30 days. The second is Pictomo 1.0.10 also for Vista, and you can make up slideshows, http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloads/2160101/jalbum

scubaguy.....lots of people are having problems downloading Wondershare, in my case nothing amiss? if it were me, i would do a complete uninstall, and download again, if all fails, you still have the others to go for they are six of one and half a dozen of the other?

  17. There seems to be quite a few file hosting sites mentioned here so I though I would mention a file hosting site I use Fileave.com This site lets you host up to 50 MB of documents music and videos for free. I realize this is not much but still its free. One hitch is that you have to log-in once a month to keep your account active. Other then that is really is quite simple to use.

thanks Paulga.. I found a few CD's I have here, (Ed Ames, and The Very Best of John Gary), but when I put them on the computer they were cda files.. then I used Ashampoo Burning Studio to convert them to mp3's.
There are other programs to use but they all wanted $$$ or only did 20 seconds of a song.
One CD that I really love is the songs from Deliverance / Dueling Banjos.. and the CD will NOT work.. it is totally dead.

:-) glad you like it, spent hours in front of the mirror just to get the right expression! And since we can't send pictures of ourselves, that's as close as I can get!

Here's another seed fresh from the moldy pockets of Johnny Appleseed.

From the folks who brought you Camtasia & Snagit, meet the Jing Project, another way to clog global bandwidth. Essentially, it's a powerful screen capture/captionator/share-with-others utility... Snag-it for the Internet maybe?

I'm sowing it here because of the Free Hosting feature. You get an extended complimentary (FREE) account life of the project. (not just 60-days) That's 200MB of space for storing screenshots and screencasts and 1 GB of bandwidth that renews monthly. They stress that this is a project, not a product, so consider yourself a beta tester with a fat new storage space.

There's the Jing Blog to help you get started.

Available for both WIN and MAC. Note - s/w requires .NET3.0 framework, which I believe is co-installed with the download.
