lee- which post are you responding to?
because, if it's the "swim bodies", well, that would be just plain weird.

This guy was digging a tree stump out of his yard and he found a concrete rectangle with names on it. He needs help deciding what he should do next and suggestions on what it might be. Here is a link to his blog and the link to the forum where you can post your ideas.

Mystery of the inscribed concrete slab (above) - Part Two

The guy posted to his blog again. He has found a second slab with different inscriptions.

I love mysteries. I think his "COOMP" looks more like "CO" - then a heart shape (for loves) then "MP".
Could be a cover to a septic tank, except for the fact that he found some electric wiring? LOL

    One of life's little mysteries...

If it's only a semi-colon, why is it larger than a colon?

Copmom.....Funny you should say that. I wrote the guy yesterday and told him that I thought it said "CO(heart)MB".

Then I told him that maybe it WAS COOMP, which could stand for "Coffin Of Our Many Pets". I bet THAT made him feel good!

See creamy.. GMTA (great minds think alike). Let me know if he gets back to you. Maybe his yard is connected to Pet Cemetary! That old movie.
We had one of our dogs cremated 1-1/2 yrs. ago, she was a combo Siberian Husky/Newfoundland, and over 120lbs. Still have the plastic book looking thing they put her remains in and a lovely card they sent with it. We had planned to bury her under her favorite tree, but can't get the dang plastic container open. Yes, I know, we CAN just keep it intact, but I'm curious.. and it is heavy. After that fiasco in Georgia a couple years ago with the crematory, I wonder if they just put some busted cement & rocks in there?

Funny, because I was also going to tell YOU that great minds think alike, but then, seeing as how it's usually OLD people that say that, and I really don't know if you have a great mind, I reconsidered. Actually, I don't even care if we think alike. Oops! Wrong thread.....I'd better get back to the "I Don't Care" thread.....

Thanks, TK_M. It's funny that you posted those links to abandoned places. I've spent a lot of time exploring old buildings and building foundations. Even bought books and maps showing the locations of abandoned logging towns and gathering places around here so I could poke around. I love that kind of thing and learning the history behind those places. Just the other day I was thinking about the ruins of the Austin Dam in Austin PA. It's on the way to my in-laws camp. I've been there a few times and was curious on it's history. While searching, I found the Forgotten Pennsylvania blog. Then I started following links to other sites on this subject.

Here are some more haunting exploration links:

Those are some pretty interesting sites maizeydaze! Thanks for them...

Actually the Austin dam would very unusual and well-worth you taking a few photos and putting them on the web if possible? Sadly I don't have anywhere near as cool as that to take pictures of!

The only down side is that it seems a terrible shame some wonderful buildings are being wasted like this.

I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in the "Amazing" thread. I've decided that it's amazingly weird.

Paulga, did you click on any of the menu items on the left and then on the new ones that appear in the middle and right, then on a small picture that appears? More clicking on what comes after, too.
