  1. I'm always looking for sites that feature streaming movies, and TV shows, any suggestions?
My favourite is Easy-Tv http://forum.easy-tv.org once you get over the minor hassle of signing up, this site rocks, all the latest movies, tons of TV shows, ect,....
Today my plan is to watch 'Doomsday', while the wife wants to watch 'Horton Hears a Who!'
Remember you cant download these movies, its streaming video....
    Another good site is http://board.alluc.org/

    Hi Everybody
Back in mid-November, I asked this question to *our now lost* FreewareFan:
    ---------------------
I have a couple of questions about s/w. Since you "travel" far & wide on the net, maybe you already have an opinion & what to choose:
#1-TV on PC, TV online, etc: what do you recommend?
I found this link, what do you think? Is it Legit?
I'm mostly interested in accessing BBC & TV5(French)
    .

    To which he responded:
To answer question #1, well, I'll just tell you of my experiences with programs of this nature. There are several out there, http://www.tvoncomputersoftware.com/ being an example. The link you posted is the usual speel, about getting the download free, but once you've installed the program, it wants you to pay for it, or you only get about 3 channels that are really crappy.

Bottom line is that if you notice the title of the pages you go to, they are all the same title, that being TV on PC Pro. That is because they all use the same exact engine, the same central coding that make the programing work. At the end of the day, they want you to pay anywhere from $39 to $59 to use the program.

As far as graphics quality goes, it's nothing to write home about. Most of the channels are grainy and choppy. It's also been my experience that over 20% of the provided channels do not work. I've tried probably every one of them to have come out, and I ended up deleting them all.

So, at the end of the day, if you were to ask me if that sort of program is worth the money, I would tell you "No." I would instead urge you to try out one of the freeware versions, like MIRO, located at http://www.getmiro.com/

    ---------------------
I had BM'ed this old thread, just in case - Hope this helps :-D

    Hi Babbs
If u need anything, just tell me!! I'm in the same boat as u = also "outside the US"... Grrr!!!

There are some links like you requested in this blog:
    http://ockhamist.com/jake/free-tv-online/

Here's one of my faves: http://quicksilverscreen.com/

And then, I looked some more. Wow! I should have figured, but had no idea there were so many websites where you could watch videos. Some of these are YouTube-ish, others are TV shows, and some are sexual in nature (from "T&A" to XXX--so beware). My favorite site name is Idonothingallday.com , though I'm afraid his videos are sexual in nature. That full list is here: http://nuclear-coffee.com/php/supported_services.php?id=VideoGet .

  12. Here is a site that I found that seems to work quite well. http://www.watch-movies.net/ This site has tons of links to movies both very new as well as older ones. It has a handy search that make finding the movie you want easy. This site really was meant for FireFox so you probably would be better off viewing this site with it. Enjoy!

Thanks to everyone above for the links and especially funkymom. Watch TV sitcoms is an awesome web sight and I am able to watch many current US shows such as L Word and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I cant thank you guys enough, I have been trying for ages to find legitimate web sights where I could view current content. This is sometimes a problem being outside the US.

    Cheers

I've used NSR since it's inception. It's really kind of hit or miss on what you will get. Some sites worked well and others not so well. This is one of the largest lists of type that I've seen.

Below text is taken from the site. They also have a lengthy disclaimer on the homepage.

    What is NSR

Welcome to No Subscription Required [NSR] Your free ticket to one of the Largest and most Comprehensive collections of free Movie,Television and Cable Sites available on the web. This massive list currently comprises 428 sites and growing.

All sites comply with the following site motto:

NSR is host site to FTW [free to watch] sites. In the world of FTW or RIPS [slang] sites come and go on a daily basis, many have to avoid legal challenges and frequently change names and URL's. NSR provides a unique host service by bookmarking all available sites at one site address, saving hours of searching for all relevant sites and new movies on search engines.

NSR is one of the fastest growing sites in the world of free entertainment. New sites are added frequently. We have a vast resource for accessing the latest and newest sites. NSR updates the host list, and its links and updates on a daily basis.

Thanks A-BIG-LOT Maizey for the link to NSR.
Have BM'ed it, will explore everything.
I don't watch much of US programs, most links I've found that's what they have! *sigh*
But in that site I think I found the *right link* for several British programs that I really like!!
Some I missed when they came through the CBC, some don't come by at all.
There are repeats in French, but I *really* dislike watch translated stuff, from any language, VERY MUCH prefer sub-titles for the ones I don't understand, I find too much is lost.
Anyhoo, just to let u know: YOUPPPYYYY and THANK YOU!!!

LeKanaw, I'm happy you were able to find something. I hadn't paid particular attention to this thread at first. I figured that NSR would have already been listed, due to their popularity. I don't watch much TV...over 200 channels on DISH and there is almost never anything I want to see when I sit down to watch. When I do find something, it's polluted with advertisements. Commercials work like a sedative, putting me right to sleep and I miss the program. Got to remember to use the DVR so I can fast-forward through the ads!

BTW, in which link did you find the BBC programs? I may be interested in something different. Hey, I'm glad you are so ecstatic! :-D

Not sure if there are any fans out there, but every single uncensored episode of every single season of South Park is now (free/legally) available online, courtesy of South Park Studios.

maizey, don't know if these links are of interest to you ?
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/tv/
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/help/5092618.stm

and thanks for south park - I can't stand them in too big portions, but sometimes they really fit in
I don't look tv very often, but I like some US shows and it's nice to have them original - and that I am able to watch them when I want to.

Try veoh, which is a replacement for Stage6.

I recently watched some episodes of TV Burp, which they've been removing from youtube.

maizey-that nsr linked saved me the other night. i agree with you all that there is very little worth watching on tv, or putting up with the ads. so, the few shows that i like, i tape and watch marathon-style. most of my shows have cliff-hangers and suspense and i don't like it!

anyway, the other night, i'm settling in to watch a show and there was a problem with the tape (the disadvantage to taping shows and hoarding them), no picture-just sound. i started going around to my bookmarks, but since the episode was a few months old (and it's being sold on itunes)i could not find it! panic was setting in (i get really into the few shows i watch), as i went from site to site. finally i found it through nsr!

    thanks again for the link.

Again what a great group of people here. I am ecstatic as I have been able to locate every single show that I desired and for free from all the links provided. Everyone in this forum rocks! I have enough entertainment to last me an eternity. You guys and gals are brilliant!

robm, your welcome. But it's not us who are brilliant but those who put their information out on the WWW for us to find and share.

p.s. There may be some who disagree about not being brilliant. LOL

  29. Maz,

Yes I really like Veoh. If you download their player (which you have to to watch some of the videos) you can use it to view their different channels and thus get a complete listing of all the TV shows that they offer. You can do searches in it too, just like you can on their website, and watch the videos in the player. If you like the Three Stooges there are a ton of them on Veoh. They also have quite a few movies and other things like that.

maz, I used to be a Stage6 subscriber. I was disappointed when they shut down a few weeks ago. I did follow their link to Veoh but it seems that not all of Stage6 has been brought over. I will have to explore Veoh more later. Thanks for the link.

Jaddis, thanks for letting us know more about Veoh.
