So I made this one! Here's a small contribution to get it started:

    http://www.jigsawaday.com/

Scroll down to get the jigsaw and don't miss the link a little up and to the left for the jigsaw from a month ago - so for the first month, you'll get two a day. Each puzzle is offered in three sizes and the shapes (and on/off rotation) vary day-to-day.

The site is perfectly safe, but I'd be careful about some of the links - no guarantees there. They also offer a CD with a past year's puzzles (plus 60 unpublished)for $10.97 (US) and $11.97 (International) and a couple of other good ones (and I think the shipping is free).

    Anybody else?

No, only that one, had it for years already and am happy with, so I never looked further (laziness is my middle name, sometimes). ;-)

Thanks for starting this thread. Though I'm not a big user of real jigsaw puzzles, I really like the computer ones. I've googled them before but didn't really locate anything good before I gave up looking.

I posted this jigsaw game on the Infinite game page yesterday but it wasn't put up until about 4-5 hours after I submitted it (about after 2:30 am EST). It’s a jigsaw puzzle called Bigjig. Go to http://www.lenagames.com/bigjig.htm It isn't actually free, it's shareware--but it’s free to download and use (No game functions are disabled). If you visit the website, you can get one free puzzle every week to play within Bigjig. If you purchase and register it, you get over 300 jigsaw puzzles and a program that allows you to make jigsaws out of your own pictures to use within Bigjig.

There is a free jigsaw puzzlemaker on her website also. I haven’t used it yet as I never really noticed it before yesterday so I cannot attest to its usefulness. Here is the link. http://www.lenagames.com/astra-gift.htm

Here is a description although it doesn’t say that it works with Vista.

“Astra Gift Maker is a free tool for creating stand-alone jigsaw puzzles out of arbitrary images (family pictures, images downloaded from the Internet, etc.). Create a jigsaw puzzle and email it to your friends or publish it on your web page.
No additional software is required to put such a puzzle together: everything is included in the puzzle itself. Yet the puzzles come out compact and suitable for distribution.”

I accidentally ran across this one today. It's not really a jigsaw but it scrambles a picture that you select from listed Filkr groups It's called Befuddlr.

I suspect everyone knows about the free daily jigsaw at Shockwave, but just in case:
    http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/jigsawpuzzles.jsp

(They occasionally do ones where the true colours on the pieces are hidden until you place them correctly--and they are really tough.)

An excellent Jigsaw Puzzle is Jigsaws Galore http://www.dgray.com/ I bought this one and IMO it's the best of the payware puzzles.

FACE, no way to know if the web master is just testing a novel marketing gimmick, or if he really is under threat of some govt's egregious confiscatory powermongery, but the CD-Rom jiggies at JigSawoftheDay are currently on SALE - 30% discount with a bonus 50 puzzle easter egg.
Limited quantities. Get 'em while they're hot... or, wait until the thieves attempt to evict him and it becomes a Waco-like fire sale.

  15. Note: My security software didn't like jigsawaday.com at all, said it was "malicious" and "high risk" so I'm passing on that one.

Liesbeth......really like jigzone.com.....I'm all signed up.

I'm off....to check out some of the other links posted. Thanks everyone

    Hi, Buckleysmom,
I would never post a link to a site that caused even the slightest hiccough at the gates to my lair. None-zip-nada of my security layers had problems with the jigsawoftheday site nor have they been upset by several zips I downloaded from there in the past.

On a lark, I even checked with the ultra-sensitive McAfee Site Advisor. It gives its Green Checkmark seal of approval revered by leprechauns the world over. Not even the sites to which the jiggy site links appear worrisome per McAfee's mapping scan.

Still, not suggesting you ignore warnings just to get a jigsaw puzzle. I'd be interested in which software on your PC had its air raid sirens tripped.

Hi, Buckleysmom, which scanner do you have ? My 2 say, that all is "green".
    I trust WOT and Googlefilter

Thanks, graylox, I'm still hoping to hear what types of security Buckleysmom employs. Certain hosts lists have a very wacky idea of what belongs in the "good 'n safe" and "bad 'n malicious" categories. FWIW, I blended a new list with those I'd never had a problem using with HOSTSMAN and am spending way too much time this month EXCLUDING safe sites that some MORON (yep, I used the M word!!!) blacklisted, e.g., SEARS.com and Wallpaperbase.com. I guess some prude (or some Brady Gun Control flake) didn't want anyone looking at the lingerie or weapons pages at either site.

Hi Rune my WOT shows "red alert" for
Sears For The Home but only on the Google search-page, and I must admit, it is absolutely correct, to prevent people for looking at table cloths and curtains.

    Jig Circle
This one is different. A circular twist on the classic jigsaw puzzle. Twist the pieces around until you finish the puzzle.

  21. Rune and Gray....sorry, this is the first I've been back here in a while. I think it was Bit Defender that had a problem, but it's been so long I can't say for sure. I never know what security stuff hubby might be "trying out". However, I just tried again and there was no problem with the site soooooooooo.......

Buckleysmom, no worries. Since no other negative reports showed up, one assumes you were witness to an infamous false positive. Or is it a false negative? Semantics are fun and tricky... as Creamy would have learned had another thread not suffered an untimely end just as I was about to show him the error of his ways. :-)

I've just posted a link to a free Jigsaw puzzle caled Amazing Jigsaw. It's not as good as the Infinite Jigsaw puzzle that was given away a few months ago, but it's definitely very playable. I couldn't find an option to add your own images, but there are some decent puzzles included with different levels of difficulty:
