Can someone help me... I have been trying to install various programs from this website...
I continuously get an error
The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program. I have tried using Firefox & Chrome, as well as winzip and jZip with no luck.

To install any program from this site, you must EXTRACT all the files in the downloaded archive to the same directory. Make sure that all files in the archive are present and that your security program has not removed or quarantined any of them. Finally, make not to use a virtual machine as results are unpredictable. New security measures were put into place sometime ago, so be sure you are not inadvertently bypassing any of them while trying to do the install.

You could also try using a different file archiver to exreact the files. I've linked to sevral in the FAQ's section over in the game Discussion forums. (You'll find the FAQ thread in the stickies)

Unzipping the downloaded file
If you are having problems unzipping the game giveaways zip file, for example getting a message saying the file is invalid try using a different file archiver such as:
Okay, that should be enough. There are actually many more free versions available. also there are other commercial titles such as the well-known WinRAR, Stuffit, WinAce, NXPowerlite and Corel Winzip Pro, but IMO 7-Zip is probably one of the better freebies. I did purchase a copy of Stuffit when it was on sale a few years ago and recently repurchased a more up to date version when it was on offer via BitsDuJour, but didn't like the interface for some reason, so hardly ever use it.

I do extract the files to a directory. When the setup runs, I will get the error. My security software won't alert me of any files being quarantined, and I have gone as far as disabling them. I have used multiple archivers and still the same results :(
Delete all downloads of this package and other remnants (.temp files / caches).
Maybe even reboot the modem and the computer.
Never do the same routines several times when the first attempt failed.
Then download again, unpack into one folder and run setup (not .GCD).
In Vista and win7 use the right-click-administrator.
For big downloads you should consider using a download manager, because they can repair broken downloads.

Hey Junejune, were you able to resolve your problem? I've been having the same issue.
I'm using Firefox with a download manager. This problem happens even with small programs so it's doubtful that any files are actually corrupted during the downloading.
I've extracted the files with both 7-Zip and Peazip into a directory.
I have disabled AVG and Comodo Firewall during both the download and installation process.
I run the Setup file as Administrator and the software is always successfully activated by GOTD and immediately afterwards I get the corrupt file message.
I've repeated the entire process four or more times on several different offers.
Any help would be appreciated. I've never had any issues with GOTD before the introduction of .gcd's.

Clear out your internet temp folder or at least those related to Giveawayoftheday. Giveaway cookies are kept in this folder. If they have become corrupted, that could possibly explain the problems you have been experiencing.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just used CCleaner to remove all my cookies and temp files and then ran it again to confirm. Re-downloaded and ran Setup with disabled AVG and Comodo. Same problem. Any other ideas?

I get the exact same error message as 'junejune0605'. Ihave tried everything mentioned here and more. This only started about two weeks ago. All other sites downloads are fine. When I check the zip files with winrar or 7zip they say they are fine, it's only when I try to install. I'm using Vista Basic. If anyone finds a way to fix this please let me know!

MD5 Checksum is ok so say 7zip is not a download thing but a setup thing try as graylox say if not work may be take off AVG I don't know if AVG stop it,and may be Comodo try avast works ok for me if you got Norton by Symantec it will not work bad news best way to fix that go to new to be 100% clean ):-

I disabled DEP and still get the same error message. It is occurring immediately after successful activation and does not appear to be related to the integrity of the downloaded files. Get the same message with Comodo firewall and AVG anti-virus disabled.

is not stop on most antvirus so may still stop and some have spy stop and it still run Comodo not to bad had for a long time and only stop one GOTD in 3 years

Todays error says "Failed to launch program" for the GGAOTD, not bothering with the regular giveaway today. I've done everything mentioned aside from reinstalling windows.
I'm using Avast AV and Online Armor firewall both which have been disabled (yes completely disabled). I'm not going to bother wasting my time trying to figure this out anymore, I will check out the forum once in awhile to see if there is a fix, thanks anyways.

I'm using Avast AV on XP & Windows 7 [64-bit] all good keep it on all the time
rrodken you not say if its Windows 7 & IE8 or 9 I not use 9 not like & use Firefox all setting in IE may kill it,IE Trusted Zones can be very bad don't tick make safe on Trusted Zones, I'am on XP now so may be not the right word may post back

I'm running Firefox 15.0.1 under Windows 7 [64-bit]. I wasn't aware of Comodo Defense+ but just checked it and it was never enabled. I have been disabling both the firewall and anti-virus protection during the download and installation.
Do the folks who created the new activation and installation process read these forums? It seems like they should know what generates the corrupt setup file message. Since the files themselves aren't corrupt, it is difficult for the user viewing the message (and for you guys trying to help) to know what it really means.
@ All who still have problems to install/activate a GOTD with the new wrapper:
Please go to the BLOG and post your problems there too, with some info about your system, AV programme, firewall, anti-malware and of course your OS.
The more info you provide, the greater the chance to get help.
