same whit Registry Defragmentation ,,, is a new clean computer i did off the firewall prior to installThere is a Proxy setting in WhiteSmoke if it's needed. Sometimes when something Flash wanted on-line access it's helped to open a browser to in effect get the connection open. AS I recorded install/download/register in one go because of the way it worked, I don't have any more detailed info on what goes on with registration/activation, but the list of Windows processes WhiteSmoke uses is large -- IMHO too many possible culprits to point at one or another. You *might* make sure Internet Explorer is your default browser -- change it back afterwards. You *might* make sure you have the latest version of Flash & that it works. You *might* try turning off Flash hardware acceleration -- right-click something Flash on a web page & select settings. Don't know that it would be worth it but you might try uninstalling Flash Beta if installed & go to normal release. At the same time as the registration window popped up at end of install, a web page opened in ie8 with spaces to type in info -- looked like maybe a free offer, maybe an alternative to the registration/activation window?
