Downloaded and installed on my Vista 32 Home Premium. Had a few problems with the install but it was just my machine. Installed normally after reboot. Registered fine. Seems to be a fairly simple UI if a little limited. It looks like a simplified version of Windows Movie Maker. I like WMM but I will try this and see how it compares.

Pros:
- Successfully installed and activated on my WinXP SP3
- Does the job: made a nice slide-show of 30 photos, with music and effects in less than 5 minutes.
- Liked the Opening and End credits option.
- You can add text balloons for more interactivity.

Cons:
- Few templates (but you can purchase them later)
- In the template selection, buttons layout overrides selected basic templates.(e.g If you select a valentine day theme and go to another tab to select the buttons position, the valentine day theme disappears without warning!)
- Text balloons are static. It would more handy if you can re-size the balloons to fit longer text.

Conclusion:
A must have program.
Even though I was reluctant to install the program because of the activation method, I am now happy for trying it out.

4.7 has the template designer, as far as I know 4.6 did not have that feature.

Those having trouble getting their key code can go here (as listed at the top of this page under Important:)

Okay, I really really really want to try this - BUT having first read the comments here I am concerned about one thing - Someone said this uses same registry values as Photostory Gold, which I love! If this prog does not work out for me, I do NOT want to risk my Photostory Gold over it! Any clues for a workaround here? Running Vista 32 bit Home Premium vers 6 if that helps. Thanks!!!!

installed flawless on vista 32 bit. it is a decent software but i am facing a weird issue. when you close the application it closes. fine. but in the windows processes it is still running. so when you try to start it up a second time it does not start. you have to manually remove the FSSB.exe process to make it start the second time. don't know what the reason is but because of this i have blocked the app from using the internet.
other than this it is a totally worth it free app to have. just remember to close the FSSB.exe process each time you close the app.

I have totally enjoyed most Wondershare products used on this site. I have to mention that Wondershare has their DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe for $29.95 (regular price $79.95) for us GIVEAWAYOFTHEDAY users... It is a great program and we have seen an earlier version several months ago (known as DVD Photo Story Gold). Once you click on the link to Giveawayoftheday holiday offers... look for the DVD Slideshow Builder Standard for $19.95. Within the text you will see the following...

- Still want to insert video clips into your DVD home movie? DVD Slideshow Builder Deluxe is the best choose. Get Discounts Here Now!

Click on "Get Discounts Here Now!"

Then you will see the "Wondershare Online Ordering System"... with them only charging $29.95 vs. $59.95 (their actual holiday price).

This looks like a great program. Thanks GOATD!

I installed and registered no problem, the code comes up right on the website when you enter your info.

One question though, I don't see any way to install the free templates that are offered. Anyone know how to do this? It takes you to a page that has free templates that are thumbnailed swf files, but no where to in the program to import or add them.

Thanks

Sorry - applications should have no need for administrator permissions unless it is doing something special. Day-to-day should not!

Would love to use this program, but this one has given me a problem for the first time since I've been using Wondershare. I have Vista 64-bit. The Wondershare Flash Slideshow Builder gives a runtime error if you just click to run the program and don't right-click and choose to Run as Administrator. Then you do not get an error. The Wondershare Flash Theme Designer seems to run OK either way you choose to run it. Never got a "Get Keycode" button the first time until I opted to run the program as Administrator. Just open the Properties dialog box and set the box for the Admin.

#50 is correct. I'm getting tired of installing software just to immediately uninstall it because it doesn't work on my Vista 64 Bit system.

Do you kbnow what this does to the registry constantly adding & subtracting programs???

Think about the end users Wondershare & all the rest of the software makers.

#17 - I wouldn't recommend a freeware option that I haven't tried. The Magix app is limited in functionality, requires activation with email and has nag screens. It is just a shill to push the user to purchase their paid apps.

I found this software very quick to make my first basic slide show but not so easy to get everything working correctly. For example, I used the edit function to crop some of the pictures, but when I got to the end to publish the show, the pictures were all as they were without cropping. I went back to the editor and fiddled a bit and eventually it worked, but I'm not sure why it didn't work first time. Same applied to the 'apply to all slides' functions. Clicking on that button did not apply the same transition to all the pictures first time round. These features could be improved in my opinion, to make them work the way intuition says they should, and made more user friendly.
I think it would also help with the way I like to work if there were some way to make a slideshow fit the length of a music track automatically, I had to spend a while thinking out the best way to make that work, and take out a few pictures and adjust the length of others to make the track fit. Other than these few suggestions for improvement, I think it is quite a good program and I'll keep it, at least until something better comes along.

How I got the key on my Vista 64 bit PC: Create a simple template - anything will do - go to EXPORT and save as untitled to the default folder. THEN the screen comes up to register and get the keycode. Once you have followed a few simple steps, a keycode will be generated immediately and also sent to your email address. Next, to register: again, EXPORT your template. Another pop-up appears to enter your email and keycode. Finished, registered. Now you can see the whole program and not just the template creator. I have NO idea if this will work on anyone else's PC but it won't hurt to try it if you are as frustrated as I was.

Installed just fine on my 64bit.........Also installed on my windows7 32bit but I am sure it would havd installed fine on my 64bit windows7. I have never had any problems installing anything from GAOTD (maybe over 20 programs now from GAOTD). It only makes me wonder what you all have on your computers that give you these problems. Of course my job currently is to ensure all computers work properly.

I have been trying to get to the 'key code' for this, for thirty minutes now, I have installed and uninstalled and reinstalled. I entered my email, it opens in IE (yikes!!), and there is no sign of any key code on their page. I have checked my email in box three times now, and there is no promised email as stated in the read me text. The page that opens in IE only advertises other templates and the special price for GAOD users; am I missing something here? I do like programs like this and always appreciate Wondershare's reputation; no need to add how great GAOD is, but this has been pure frustration. Oh, and I forgot to add that the setup notification in the task bar refuses to close unless I open the task manager and end the process. I thought 64-bit users should be a bit more specific.
Have a great day all!!

Wondershare Flash Slideshow Builder [FSB] --*GOTD Version*-- is in some (many?) cases simply broken. Expecting to maybe see problems in 64 bit Windows, I monitored the install in XP Pro SP3 32 & gave it a try -- there's an error starting the app, & one if I click on Global Settings from the menu. The error message on starting FSB I could live with -- not being able to access Global Settings, not so much. It *may* be because Wondershare put together a special GOTD build, & it includes a bug (or more)?

What I can say is that FSB didn't mess with anything re: Windows, & was pretty light as far as registry entries go, with everything contained in the program's folder & 1 .AX file registered. {Please note that "EncoderRender.ax", the registered .ax file, takes the place in the registry of the same file name in Wondershare Photo Story Gold, so if you un-install FSB, Photo Story Gold might not work properly until that file in it's folder is re-registered.]

I didn't play with FSB that much to try and troubleshoot the problem further, instead hoping that Wondershare releases a fixed version later today. Nor did I try to use the app, because it would be unfair to say what works & what doesn't when it's obvious the program isn't behaving properly from the get go. Otherwise those that are having problems, it's not just you or Vista or 7, as this is happening in XP.

While some commenters here could be working for a competing company, it is much more obvious who here are working for Wondershare. Don't get me wrong; I have several excellent Wondershare products on my workstations, including video and DPG converters. And I have picked ~2,000 photos this holiday just waiting to be sent to family and friends somehow. But I will not install today's offering because of Wondershare's trolling and gaming in this forum, made worse by the attempt to justify it.

Wondershare had built a great reputation on GAOTD over the year, but it is quickly crumbling with their practice today. I hope they will reconsider their marketing strategy.

Not bad, I hope it has also a option without decorated frame just plain slideshow. The 'email this slideshow' option does not work well (in Gmail) the received slideshow swf files can't be opened and viewed properly, tried it with few friends but they did not understand what I'd send to them.

To be honest I don't see exactly what's the benefit of this download one when compared with the many free embeddable slideshow options offered by e.g. Kizoa, Photobucket, Picasa, Slide, Slideroll etc. (all links on http://webdesign.coolstart.nl )

I got two free downloads btw, also a 'flash theme designer'

This is very simple and fun to use software. Creating a single swf file will make embedding these into web pages as easy as pie for novice web developers.

No problem installing and running this on my Vista 64bit PC. I have disabled the user account control which may be causing issues for some people trying to install this.

I think the kids and novice PC users will love this software but more experienced creative’s amongst us may find it limiting in editing features.

@#10 I think you’re a bit paranoid on who is posting the comments. Wondershare delivers great products so I see no reason to accuse them of peppering the comments. I
find using an e-mail account all of 30 seconds worth of trouble. And no it’s not uncommon for companies to do this. I received a 50% notification on upgrading to other things but not for the program it’s self so the program is FREE not a TRIAL. Maybe your system just needs replaced or cleaned out and defragmented real good so you won’t get errors. The app only opens to their site on the first install, not as you use the program on a regular basis though they do offer add ons for 50% off (Which isn’t uncommon). You wouldn’t be working for the competition would you? Thanks GOTD and Wondershare for another great offer.

You don't have to re-install to get this to work in Vista64. Just do the right-Click "Run as Admin" on the Desktop Icon it's target .exe if you are already in the folder.

Vista64 users should be used to this by now. After a year and 1/2 in Vista i am in awe of the wonderfully decadent randomness of which this particularly issue arises.

I would assume this program does a registration confirm when it is launched. That and Auto-updaters are the programs most likely to need the admin privilege to launch.

well, those and VIRUSES!!!!!!!!

OH NOES!!!!!!!!!!

If you take advantage of the free programs offered by MS then you have far better programs than this one offered here todayl Always free and always can accept updates.

After trying this one I found it to be very impractical and therefore useless.

About Upgrades Offers Inside Wondershare GOTD Versions

Be careful about upgrades offers inside Wondershare GOTD versions of their software.

I purchased an upgrade to a GOTD version that didn't work as the GOTD version, without first trying out.
I simply assumed that since the GOTD version worked, it would also work well.
Well, it didn't and it was a very bad experience; the software produced crashes trial after trial and I couldn't use it.

The company does not have a money back guarantee and refused to refund my purchase.
They actually did not believe that their program did not work and assumed I was lying.

I know they have received a lot of praises on GOTD, but this is my personal consumer experience.

I will never again try, buy or recommend any of their products.

Make sure you have tried and are fully satisfied before buying from any GOTD upgrade offer because you will never get your money back if anything goes wrong.

I also realised that some of the GOTD offers do not always have the same features as the non-GOTD versions.

Just a word to the wise.
