Just what exactly information sites intended for governmental criticism will you endorse me to read?

@3: The demos linked to by your link http://www.animatedwallpaper7.com/about.php?wallpaper=autumn
makes my AVG antivirus IDENTITY PROTECTION alarm, and I have to choose to allow the program or not. Why is that?
(If I choose not to allow it, the AVG tells me to restart my computer, and when the computer has restated the demo has disappeared.)

I don't really understand what you are all moaning about. It is a quite pleasant wallpaper. I would not pay the price for it but as a free giveaway it is nice. Please, be constructive in you criticism or do not criticise.

I just wanted to mention that 2 monitors works perfectly if you use the "stretch" command. It spreads 1 picture over the 2 desktops. The other settings leave something to desire.

Overall, it's a screen-saver with animation which may or may not be a treat for you, but you can turn that off and enjoy a beautiful autumn image. It would be nice as a wallpaper, too.

Not bad. Sun shimmers through trees, grass sways and leaves fall, this as a wallpaper - not as a screen saver. What the heck, a keeper till the snow flies. Works fine W7 64

As for this Wallpaper the optimal setting to get this to show up in Windows 7 assuming you have Aero Enabled is to change your background to a solid black background. Then enable this. If you turn off the Aero, you don't get so much issues with the contrast / hue of the background. Now I'm not going to say I like this nor I hate it but its a change from shuffling backgrounds that normally occupy my computer.

I can say however it looks nicely on a Wide Screen environment and does not stretched out or out of proportion in any way.

Perhaps if there is one feedback to the developer I'd like to give its that these animated Wallpapers should be sold in packs rather then individually.

Downloaded and installed it on a windows 7 64bit without any problems. I changed the compatibility to Vista because of earlier comments just in case. I had no problem with the existing wallpaper "blending"with this active wallpaper, perhaps they are using a windows fade effect somewhere?

It is a simple background wallpaper with falling leaves but still enjoyable, a nice change from dull wallpaper.

As for #8, ouialaraison, when I come to giveaway of the day, I like to see the giveaway, not some self gratuitous advertising from someone else trying to detract from the actual product being offered, it's annoying and selfish.

Thank you for this offering, it is appreciated.

@3(dadams) I used your link and downloaded several other demo wallpapers, and then I choosed to run a fish demo wallpaper and immediately got a virus alert from AVG antivirus who asked if I should treat it or allow it. IS THIS NORMAL? I clicked to treat it and was then informed that I had to restart the computer to treat it, and so I did.
GGAOTD has of cause to responsibility for other programs directly ddownloaded from the site of the producers a GAOTD program, and the GGAOTD users should have that in mind.
((By the way: the presentation picture for the "matrix world demo" is mmissing on the site of the producers.)

@dadams.
Thx for the demo link. The demo drove my displays crazy, dancing 1/8 inch high horizontal lines in 1 inch colums of various colors. Was difficult to navigate mouse to shut down computer and do a cold boot but all appears to be OK now. Sure glad I didn't install this junk. Thanks again.

#13 and others: you can remove the black garbage around your icons in the property menu (right click on the desktop) of your desktop settings, just untick that box the allows shadows under the icons, and voila, problem solved. I have an xp myself and with the shadows off, the icons look fine. I tend to turn my icons off when I have a gorgeous wallpaper like this one, but, if you only have a few running at the top, or a few period, this should work nicely. Thanks GOTD

Until I looked further, I didn't realize this was a wallpaper. I'm looking for safe free screensavers. They sure are hard to find.

Downloaded/installed fine on Vista 64-bit.

Looks simple but not unpleasant. Bright colors. The movement is very animated-looking (i.e. fake).

My RAM usage jumped from 53% to 60% while the computer was idle, which was the main reason I removed it.

I prefer a plain black background so I can see my desktop icons, and with this background, my icons blended in and because hard to find. That could be the same with any "busy" background, no suggestions on how to fix it.

Usually I can right-click anywhere on the desktop to bring up a menu with graphics options and the Personalize folder (Vista). With this animated background, those options weren't available by right-clicking and I had to go through the Control Panel to get to Personalize.

I could not change the desktop background back to what I wanted when I tried, it stayed on the animated one. When I uninstalled it, it still stayed. I had to restart my computer to get it off the background.

Overall, it looks nice but uses too much memory in my opinion, and has too many little issues to deal with it.

"Fall Season Animated Wallpaper is an animated picture of a beautiful forest in red and yellow will make your work area cozier and warmer."

FALSE. After working for three hours now, my work area is neither warmer or cozier for having this wallpaper. Can you make one with Heidi Klum? Please?

After all of the programs load, my CPU runs at about 80% capacity, when I loaded this software, everything came to almost freezing the CPU, which means it takes quite a bit of the CPU time slices to function.

And what does it do, well, almost nothing useful but using my CPU for useless calculations and displays that I only see them when the computer starts and when I shut down the computer for 30-60 seconds.

Uninstalled and my computer came back to the same speed as before.

While I normally don't go for wallpapers like this, I figured it was worth a try but one has to note that I work with multiple screens.

On a simple one-screen computer I believe this would look lovely though I haven't run it long enough to test it it would create lag in the long run.

Using on a computer with multiple screens it would have been nice if the image would have been either mirrored on either side of the screens. The only options are original size (which puts the wallpaper smack in the middle of both screens with huge black borders on both sides), fill (the image is stretched while keeping its proportions to fit both screens, so it looks blurred and you don't get much of a sight), and stretch (which will stretch the image across both screen in a very unsightly fashion.

So sadly, while it was lovely in its own way, not for me.

Nice enough wallpaper, set-up was easy although I don't like to first have to unzip, but that's up to gotd, not this program.
Only strange thing is the shades of sunbeams on the right side showing the sun is shining from right to left a bit while the tree shows the sun is shining from the left.
I hope they put a little more thought in their next wallpaper.

Greetz,
Chaotic.

It is a very simple wallpaper with falling leaves. No control for the light intensity or the speed of the leaves falling. It takes a lot of resource to run. My system resource manager reads 4% with this wall paper off and with wallpaper on reads 46% and brings my XP Pentium 4 with a 1GB graphic card to a crawl. I just don't see the point of running it at this expense. Uninstalled.

What is the point of this giveaway? All it is, is a desktop background, these (ANY background, NOT this one!) can be downloaded for free from a lot of sites, instead you insist on charging $7.95 for it.
What a waste of money!

I installed this on a Windows XP 32bit computer, except for a small hangup during the install, everything works just fine...my only issue with this is the annoying black outlines around my desktop icons, wish they could fill in the space with the wallpaper colors...This is good as a free program, but I don't see spending $7.95 for it,there are plenty of free alternatives out there from various websites.

Looks like it has potential, but the appearance is really ugly when it clashes with an existing wallpaper, which it neither removes nor replaces but appears instead to do an additive blend. Tried it and had to remove it, but thanks for the opportunity to check it out.

Well I didn't read the blurb properly and thought it was another Screen Saver - It ISN'T - it creates a wallpaper with the nice autumnal feeling . The leaves fall and grass moves. Nice bling and I do not understand the negative thumbs down without comments.

It stops responding on my Windows 7 x64 System. So for me it was a let down, but looking at their website there are a number of different animated pictures to use. It would be nice if they included all of them for one price. I believe they charge for each one which is probably reasonable from there point of view but I get bored with my wallpapers quickly. I wouldn't want to spend money on each one. Also Window 7 has a huge array of wallpaper themes that change ever set number of minutes. So given the prices and the lake of actually running on my machine I have to give thumbs down.

Some time ago, Desktop Paints gave away here another animated wallpaper designed with their Animated Wallpaper Maker, like today’s GOTD (animatedwallpaper7.com seems to be their new subsidiary for marketing their wallpapers). Being myself a user of AWM, which I first found here, just to be boastful I claimed I could do better and, to prove it, imprudently posted links to my Dropbox for you to download some of my own projects. But I had hardly passed moderation that I was already advised by Dropbox that my links were suspended for generating an excessive traffic! I got a 3 day punishment ;D (they allow 20GB max. bandwidth per day, it means that nearly 1400 wallpapers were downloaded in an eyeblick! I had no idea there were so many of us here hunting freebies… but I am a little bit in the cloud myself.)
So I made this huge technological leap forward and voilà:

Here you can have a look:
http://diaporama.archive-host.com/df2/Diaporama.php?id=ratyrk25D4dhKtDqvCkj

and here you can download:
http://outils-n.archive-host.com/partage.php?id=r3Cc8kjehdadch3horezLnppm&mode=simple&rep=
My wallpapers are like your granny’s homemade marmalade: no additives, they don’t require installation and, unlike today’s “Fall Season”, they are reinstallable ;) We’re supposed to have unlimited bandwidth at our disposal now so help yourself!

Is this a joke? When you gave away desktop paints animated wallpaper maker in February, that was a gift. This particular background looks like it was created by a NOOB! Whoever did this didn't even use the animations from the extension pack 2. Total thumbs down from me.

Gaotd is offered in several languages and these companies develop screensavers/wallpapers for all seasons. Why do they keep ignoring us users from the Southern Hemisphere?

I Have to say that I am undecided on how I feel about this one. I liked their early giveaways but disliked the last one because of it's insistence on being placed in the start up menu. Anyway, you can go to this link...

http://www.animatedwallpaper7.com/about.php?wallpaper=autumn

...and download a demo. just click the demo to start it, no install is required. You can see what this program does before you install it.

Downloaded and installed without a hitch. Not much variety in scenes. And the animations look very artificial. I will uninstall this right away.
