Business card software BusinessCards MX program for quick and easy business cards design. This program will help to create and print a professional business card. The interface of the BusinessCards MX has been designed in such a way that even beginner won't have any problems at all with using the program.

The process of designing is based on inserting ready for use elements accessible in the program such as figures, images and the background, and freely shifting them on the prepared project. Another advantage of the program is the possibility of saving data about a company or people so that it can be used later while designing a business card.

Business cards software profitable business check tie software that, because of the data saving feature, can be extracted for future reference points as well as other applicable projects. A unique program, cool but tricky install.

Since the simple thumbs down dialog box fails to have an active send button, I'll paste and expand on my "reason for not liking this app " :lack of form types (templates) , WAY too S L O W ....My new dual core w/2GB ram and Vista locks up , cpu load in upper limits and ram 65% used... I wasted a whole night trying to whip out a few cards for my friend before she left town. I should have been in and out by 7pm, NOT 2AM. The fact that it has NO option for measurements other than metric really blows. My AVERY Bus.Card forms DON'T measure out exactly at 19mm Lf Margin and 13.5mm top margin! And it's left to the user to figure out this lil anomaly... You guys might want to think about alienating much of the U.S. buyers with that little piece of narrow mindedness. This app is beta at best. Better freeware is out there. It's too bad because at first I thought it was A+ and very user friendly but after trying to use it like a "Serious" app. of it's kind I have to say this is Child-Ware at best.

Hi Folks,

This looks like a fine choice, good business-card software is a little tricky, each program has pluses and minuses, good freeware is rare and the programs don't need frequent update and there is plenty of use for home cards. Despite a grumble above, you can custom-tailor many low-volume cards for specific purposes and work with various pics and use different card-stock and have tons more flexibility than any professional deal. There is a place for both.

Now, I did not load the update.exe .. not realizing that this was a replacement program rather than a ptf. Should I do it now after the deadline, or will it be unregistered. Also is it important ?

Thanks for assistance.

Shalom,
Steven Avery

Gahhh! I hate it when cool looking apps are published on the weekends and I don't get a chance to check 'em! This one is pretty good. I have d/led the trial version and been playing around with it. I will hope for a rerun one of these days.

The print option now works fine, thanks #42 Krzysztof for the patch!

This program is better than some of the business card programs I have used but uses a lot of system resources, the print and print preview are very slow.

To the complainers, and there are always some, this site gives away programs for "One Day." That's it, and that is the idea of the site.
Don't expect to like or need every single program, just use the ones you like, delete the rest, and stop complaining.

The site makes it very clear how long you have to download and register the software, heck they even give you a countdown.

I have received some excellent software, completely free. Some I didn't like. I am sure there are some that others don't like. Instead of complaining just be glad you can look every day and maybe once in a while get a free gift.

Thank you for all the hard work.
Carole.

I really like this: Makes me want to do some cards--I don't have a business, but it makes it nice if you're networking to have a card. Thanks for the help update (see link on comment #41). There is a bit of a learning curve. It's a very nice program though!

One thing I noticed is you can open more than one instance by double clicking the file. Probably should fix it so when you double-click the file, it (after asking if you want to save the changes to the previous file) opens it in the same program. Reason being is if you have more than one instance open, the database doesn't work. Also note that there is no mouse-over "tag" help for the "align" button.

Another issue I think is important is regarding the City and Street field. Usually in the US there is an Address (for street address), an Address2 or secondary address field (for longer addresses that contain office #, Suite # or post office box), then the City/State/Zip (as a single field). I'm sure this is just a difference between European and US addresses, but I thought you might want to know in case you want to change some of the field names in the English version or make a US English version.

For the users: One problem I finally figured out was how to add or change a text object to a field in the database. To do this you need to either add a new text object by clicking on text and then click on the card. Or copy another field. With the new field selected, go to the objects tab. Check the "Data from" box and then select the proper field from the database from the drop-down next to it. (Have no idea what the button "point out" next to it does.)

@#140 Woodysdad - Open the readme file, instructions there for proper registration, then restart, the watermark goes away. This program actually required entering of the serial number to register, it wasn't an auto-install registration.

The businesscard-mx software is very well made. I am not surprised at the tremendous ignorance displayed by people commenting here. Almost all of the negative comments here are just dumbass. If people will learn how to use a computer and also appreciate the difficulties involved in actually creating programs in the first place they would spend more productive time and quit bitching about silly non-issues.

Here's a list of complaints and some reasonable responses:
1. I can't register. If you can't register, you are doing something wrong because GAOTD makes all of their projects registerable.
2. I see watermarks or can't print etc. Look at the readme file that tells you in plain English how to register the product. Sometimes you have to run a registration.exe program before you install the program, and sometimes you have to follow other instructions. Learn to follow instructions.
3. I don't see anything when it comes time to print. Well, LOOK AT THE SCREEN RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. IT Says "Update Print Preview"-- so click on the button.
4. The download is too big: This is a really dumbass commment. Graphics take a lot of space and so do complex programs. A big download often means a great deal of time went into preparing the software which might contain many valuable features, not just bloat.
5. Fingerpointing - Look, no, don't look the gift horse in the mouth. Just either enjoy the adventure of new software or get the heck out of here.
So, what is this website all about? They want you to comment on your user experience so the software manufacturer can obtain valuable information that will help them in making better software and better usability features and help files. I'm sure your negative comments are welcomed as well as pats on the back, but if all you do is say stupid things or show that you didn't take 2 minutes to read the instructions, you could be spending your time reading instructions instead of writing negative comments.

For your own sake, use some common sense.

Hi, folks. What a great concept! I came to get the Business Cards MX software that someone just told me about. BUT, by the time I got his note and got to the site, it was no longer available. Argh. Now i'm disappointed and aggravated that i've wasted my time. I was in the middle of work and stopped everything to come to your web site.

I don't visit "just because" something is free - there is a lot of "free" stuff on the Net; some junk, some top quality. I want quality. My friend recommended this as "quality" and sent me...

Suggest making the downloads available for "NEW" users - as a first impression - for at least one day before and one day after *their* first interaction with your site. I bet others feel the same way but won't take the time to write to you and express their disappointment. I wanted THAT software.

Now that I've visited the first time, being ready to get that one *recommended* product, i'm ready to click away and never come back instead of becoming the long-term visitor I could have become. Make sense? It's a process and technical implementation action item... or you can just ignore it...

Thx. - v/r, Cheri

Expanding on my comment #14, it's nice that the author fixed the Help link, but it shouldn't have been broken in the first place. There are numerous issues--the lack of UI scaling, scroll-thumb doesn't refresh the window in realtime (a common problem), lack of English measurements, lack of support for common labels (most business-card design packages support them), doesn't always prompt to save changes, appears to throw away some changes (such as to the database). The heavily ad-infested, limited-preview, single-download online templates are a nuisance, but you should be able to use one of the earlier giveaways to auto-download them. #23/29, clearly you consider yourself a genius, but exporting at 1200 dpi isn't the same as printing at 1200 dpi. Many users have color laser printers and use standard laser-perf business card sheets. You'd think no one here knows how to Google "business card design software".

i downloaded and installed the original when it was offered (yesterday, saturday).

today, sunday, i was checking the 'help' and noticed there is none. i see that there is a 'fix'. i downloaded that today.

if i install that today, will i lose the 'free' program because it is the day after?

thank you.

I had absolutely no problems with the download, registration (clearly explained in the readme) or installation. I could not open the help file so I emailed the company as someone above had done so, this was before the post from the developer about the update download. They sent me a link and I downloaded it that way. I really appreciate that help from.

I have played around with the program since and am impressed. At first I thought that the download was large for what the program does, but after seeing how many templates and other graphics are included this makes more sense.

This program gives a favorable impresion but has some important things witch should be fixed in the Swedish translation.

The program has some problems with the Swedish translation:
- The Swedish translation contains Norwegian words
- The Swedish install gave an error in the end

unbelievable. It's amazing that this program is only $29.95. And for a high quality (my opinion:) graphics program 57 mb is small. I generally don't bother with the skins feature on most programs but the developer not only has excellent programming skills, he also has taste.

The update fixed the "help file problem". It took me awhile to download the update because I wasn't sure if the update was really posted by the developer, but after checking around a bit, I noticed that the templates are also posted on the same site, so it's okay to download:).

I also have a few graphics programs that I like, but I was having a difficult time printing business sized cards. I have been working on a memorial card to send to family members and was becoming disillusioned and saddened because the poem wasn't printing correctly, it was either unreadable (print came out too small - no matter what sized font I used) or scrunched together. BusinessCardsMX3Pro let me finish (and the cards are beautiful) so I can now work on the memorial site.

Krzysztof Pawlowicz I am very grateful to you for this wonderful product.

everyone having trouble registering. just click ok when the reg. pops up pay attention it is already in there for you. great program although there is a huge watermark that appears over the cards when you print. you still must buy the program to get rid of that mark. this program is free to play with but not to actually use.

For those who have problems registering-if they still haven't figured it out: It only appears that partial information is available in the box that pops up for activation. You must scroll it down and it will give you the rest of the information including the email address and the code. Took me a second to see it too, I tried twice before I noticed the scroll bar.

This is an awesome software package especially for free, It comes with a host of templates pre-installed and you can download additional templates from thier web site. I would purchase this program and it is well worth the price of $29.95
I had a to place the information a couple of times but, It looks like the registration information stayed in the slots.
I hope that the program is registered

10 thumbs up to GiveAway of the Day.

Is this for real??? There are still programmers out there working on this kind of software???

If you want to create business cards at home the average cost for the quality 'paper' to print 300 cards on is about $10. The average cost to have a professional shop print PROFESSIONALLY designed business cards for you is about $10 per 1000. Why on earth would anyone still be using their home computer to print business cards? Did we just time warp back to the 80's?

Tried the program to remake a businesscard that I made earlier with an other program. Worked like a gem. Had to convert my background png to jpg though. Allthough that possibility is given it didn't work. The program is clearly not fully worked out, so it's probably a beta (at least in my opinion, a few options aren't fully working). How ever there are enough option that do work and make it a very nice program.

I tried it without using any templates to see if it was intuïtive enough and had no problems finding out how to use it, without using the helpfile. It's quite self explanatory. The time used in making all the skins could have been beter used in making all the options in the program to work, like the alpha to color option. It befuddles me why the program takes nearly 1 minute to open on my machine, even heavy progams like Word or games open faster (maybe the code needs some cleaning up?). Furthermore when reopening the busnesscard that I made it opened with the MojoSoft credentials instead of the ones I used. Apparently your only making a template with this program. I didn't use the print option yet (just ran out of ink), but I do not understand why the program doesn't use the printer driver that belongs with your printer. But at least your able to save the busness card as an image in a higher resolution than it is possible to print within the program (1200 dpi instead of 600 dpi). So you could import the image the image in an other program (Word, Open Office) and print it from there with your own printer capabilities.

Despite the minor lackings of the program it is a very usefull program if you want to make a busness card.

Thanks MojoSoft (Krzysztof) an GAOTD.

Thanks for this excellent program. Download and activation went smooth for me. I cruised the template section and found the perfect biz card for my needs. 5 minutes with the program and the cards printed out smoothly. Beautiful interface and quite intuitive. I have lots of graphics programs way larger in size then this program some over a Gigabyte easily but I'll never open them again to produce stunning biz-cards. This is a definite keeper for sure. 9 out of 10 and a pleasant weekend surprise. Thanks

Is there special paper we need to print out the cards?

And after printing them, do we need to cut them out with scissors?

Seems like a lot of work, and if the edges aren't perfectly straight, the cards won't look professional.

(I haven't tried the program yet, BTW.)

Hi, everyone...
Thank you all for your comments today. They helped me a lot.
I downloaded the main zip file as well as the update.
Installed the main file, registered, closed the program. Restarted the program, but the update was a no-go. Had to close the program, run the update with program closed, & that solved the update-error problem. Closed & restarted again, program ran fine.
My PC runs Windows XP Media Center. After reading all the comments & solutions from the GAOTD users & the Mojosoft developer, I had no other problems.
The download was 50+ mb, & the install was 60+ mb, but with the included clipart & templates it had to be a large download. You can delete the files you don't want to save harddrive space if you need to.
My only question is: the website shows additional ( free ) templates available to download; will they be available to the GAOTD users when a new version of the program is published, or are they only available to us now while we have the newest version?
Printing my own cards would be too expensive, but this program should work for me to design my own cards, take the image to a pro, & have them printed for me at a reasonable cost.
Also, I should be able to design several different types of cards & insert the images as e-mail signatures---tailor the card to the person.
Everyone considering downloading: read all the comments/instructions first! It really helped today. The program today isn't the easiest to use, but looks like it's worth learning.
Thanks GAOTD, Mojosoft, & GAOTD readers for the software & all the help today.
: )

Hi!

The program installed and registered OK for me. If those who don't know which email etc. to use will read the readme text file you will find what you need there.

Note: The download did stop at 97% for me but it just asked if I wanted to finish downloading, I clicked yes and the final copying of the files to my computer (from the temp folder I guess) completed fine.

Wow there are a ton of extra templates at the URL given above :) Make your own and get a link (wink).

For those who say they would never accept a homemade biz card you probably have and didn't even know it. :) Except for embossing (Those raised letters) or engraving (recessed lettering) anyone with a thimble full of talent could make a decent card with this program.

Also there are some nice logo "parts" in the graphics and you could use this to make your company logo as well.

Note: I think some of us have mentioned before that software isn't "measured" by the file size, but in this case I am pretty sure it is the graphics that make the download a bit bigger, not the program itself. I happen to think this program is in line with what to expect of a program that uses/includes graphics and templates for you.

I have installed other graphics programs that had so many pictures and fonts I will never get around to using that the program (Actually the installation size) was over a gigabyte.

My printer is on the fritz and I wasn't able to test the print capabilities, so I will have to go by what those who have tried it out said about their experiences.

I am happy with the program so far after playing around with it for awhile and have recommended the people who read my blog grab it up today as well. :)

I was worried when reading some of the negative comments, then further down I found some helpful ones!

I can't believe some people are still having registration issues! When the program installed it told me what to put in, but failing anyone missing that CLUE it clearly says it in the Help file!

This is a good program if you're looking for this type of thing, it looks quite extensive and as some have mentioned you can do more than business cards with it.

Thanks GAOTD
