The program *looks* good, but I can't seem to get it to see a mapped network drive, which makes it useless for me.

I installed this software today, and did the reboot like it said. I had it scan the "My Music" folder but a little bit into the scan process, the program had stopped working and shut down.

Not a very good impression of the program. I'm willing to work with the developer of the software to help get to the bottom of this crashing but for now I've removed the program.

I do like Giovanni's suggestion of Media Monkey as you can get the player to look like iTunes to an extent and even use it as a web radio player.

Shame as this program has potential to excel in so many ways.

I switched back to Winzip 17.5 Pro (free version) and I used it rather than 7-Zip to open/install this software. Seems to work OK this time. Now I am purging out all my Zip software except for WZ 17.5 Pro. Maybe that was the problem. Thanks a lot for the GOTD softwares each day. have a safe and happy Halloween all- Jack/keimanzero Campbelltown PA in historic Lebanon County.

I don't understand how this is used--does it find music online for you? Or just catalog music you already have (somewhere) on your computer?
Thank you!

1. Unless it represents something else (then an explanation is required), please update description: "e.t.c." ---> "etc." (one and only period).

Then, I don't like an "etc." after a partial list of audio file formats. What about AAC, AC3, etc.

2. "Create playlists for your favorite music player".
- This program cannot play music?
- The developers do not want their product to be the default music player?
- Or does it mean it can export playlists? If so, where's the list of exported formats?

3. "View/Edit Title, Artist, Album, Composer, Genre e.t.c.;"
Be clear please. Does it supports at least ID3 v1, ID3 v2.3, ID3 v2.4, APE? Can it convert to/from, create tags from file name...?

4. "Customize Interface with skins."
Skins should be the last thing to do, right after all bugs are fixed and all features implemented.

In fact, I have no idea of what this program is capable of. Oh yeah, it's a database. Can this database have custom fields such as artist names, instruments played, size of orchestra, label, etc.?

I'm afraid I've got too much questioning for even bother to download this GOTD.

I just did a search in Google on the domain registration of this company, and found some very interesting things. First of all, it says that the company is in Queensland, QLD, Australia, but the interesting part is the phone number. When I did a search on the phone number in Google, I found that it has been used over the past few years as a scam phone number. It is a phone number in Denmark, not Australia.

I would be very wary of downloading this software, because of the information I found on it.
Giveaway Of The Day needs to do more research before offering us software that is linked to scammers.

Does this software have a PLAYLIST feature or a PLAYER at all?

Just wondering. I use Portable 1by1 as a playlist player, but I would love to have a database of music with those 2 features.

Bound to be compared with Media Monkey, which I use exclusively. The free version does pretty well everything.

to #3 I use ashampoo's mp3 cover and it will find your album covers and you can save it. right now you can get it for $10.00 instead of $29.00 at https://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/0090/Multimedia_Software/Ashampoo-MP3-Cover-Finder you have until 10-31-13 to purchase it . it helped me out and I know it will do you some good as well.

I use
- Winamp for playing music and auto-tagging files (You get to see what changes Winamp suggest to the tags before you press "confirm" when autotagging.) Winamp is free, but you can, as I did, pay for a "pro-version". Works on ALL file-formats, either as default or by using plugins.
- Mp3tag to add cover-photos, bulk-rename files and do any manual tag-editing. (You could use Winamp to do the manual tag-editing, but Mp3Tag is faster and easier). Works on allmost all file-formats. Mp3Tag is free, but you are allowed to make a donation,
- MusicIpMix (discontinued) as a Winamp-plugin AND as a standalone program to automatically generate playlists. (Works better than the native Wnamp playlist generator.) Free, and still avaliable out there. Just google it.

This is what helps me keep track of my 150.000-song musicl library.

Tried the allmysongs database, but I still prefer my "usual" setup.

I find this one very useful, I have lots of music CD`s and old LP`S that needs to be catalogised, and this one does most of it, though it have problems with some of the LP`s, which it don`t find on the internet. That is not the softwares fault though. So thanks.

I was actually looking forward to this one, but it's now crashed on me 4 times in 5 minutes. There were some problems with the artist showing up in the "title" field, too, but it seemed to correct itself when I added "track" as another viewable field. I'll stick with the freeware program Jaangle. I don't find it very user friendly, but at least it's stable.

I just tested this out what a waste its about as worthless as tits on a boar.
Its great in finding album covers but thats about it. It does not embed the album covers in the music files so whats the point unless you want this program to be your primary music player myself I prefer winamp to be my music player.
The features this program has are great but poorly executed I would have given this program a flying 5 stars if it embedded the album art but it fall way short.
Mind you I tested this on Flac files since I rip my music in FLAC.
So I guess its back to the grind to find a program that will embed album art into flac.

No Thanks! I don't want something to "sort" things out! I have it set up a specific way and I don't want some app to come and mess it up!
