Downloaded the giveaway with 6+ hours remaining... and still have not received my activation code. Got the message it was sent... checked my mail... checked my junk filters, and nothing! I doubt I'll download anything else from this publisher in the future.

Ugh! I installed the program but I'm still waiting for the email with my code. Anyone else having problems with this?

I've been using Geek Library for years now on my Windows Phone. Just scan the barcode with the camera and it finds it. Also has a desktop app that keeps in sync. Also works with books, cds, games.

UNINSTALLED! Cannot register. During start, program looks for a file in D drive whereas there is no D drive in my system. Popups and email attempts and screenshot attempts and whatnot. Had to fight with the program to no avail. Very intrusive, too. Does not allow email address to be put inside the popup, with all those error messages keep popping up left and right, so what's the use? Maybe made on purpose so people cannot register it for free and would have to pay for it. I don't know but very annoying! Why can't some people make a simple registering process like most softwares do? I gave up. Not worth my time anymore. While trying to collect emails, some vendors lose good old customers like that! Why not a code inside the zip file? Also starts with the native language of the PC, I hate when softwares decide which language to use (other than English).

I was looking forward to this program—I downloaded All My Books (from the same company)when it was offered a few weeks ago—love it. However when I tried to open and install this program it would not install at all on my W-7/64 machine. I downloaded and tried to install it three (3) times toady with the same results—the program would not install no matter what I did.

hi all
my question is, can movie software scan your puter and get info rather than 'inputing the name' like programs do for MP3's. I keep my movies on a server so I have little to scan. since I have kids, I have kept copies uploaded.

Installed but locks up when I input the registration code.
I use one of their other products, but not sure if I want to deal with the hassles of installing this program.

Will this detect movies collected on an external or internal hard drive, or do you have to manually go through your directory trees and paste or type in every file you own? If it's the latter, it won't be very useful to folks who have a large digital movie collection.

My favorite for years has been Oxidev Movie Organizer, (previously known as OXD Software Movie Organizer), which pulls info from the online video database, Moodb:
http://www.movieorganizer.se/index.php

"Download movie information and images online using UPC, title, actors or MOODb ID (free to sign up). Upload your movie collection online and get your own URL to your collection. Advanced printouts including the possibility to print DVD covers. And much more.

Movie Organizer can be run on any Windows platforms since Windows 95."

Totally FREE. Great software!

I HAVE QUITE A COLLECTION OF DVDs AND BLU-RAYS (OVER 900)and THIS IS WHAT I USE TO CATALOG THEM ALL.

If you just want to know how many movies you have, what movies you have and where they are stored in your house, can use Excel.

Skip all the fluff like cast and so on.

If you have many thousands of full length movies, you may be in trouble. Where does one find the time and energy to watch so many movies?
If you have 8,000 movies, each movie is 2 hours long and you watch 4 hours of movies each day, that requires about 11 years to watch them all.

@15...15.I do not keep my movies on disc’s, as I have over 8,000 DVDs...I'm confused on what you just said. But anyways try EMDB for your Barcode needs. I have over 25,000 movies and TV series, and EMDB can handle my collection, also a big plus because EMDB is always updating it's software and it's totally FREE! Thanks for your giveaway, but I'll pass on this one.

Does anyone know if this can download my 'seen and rated' movie list from Netflix? Netflix acts as my movie database, but I would like something that I can keep permanently on my computer.

I do not keep my movies on disc's, as I have over 8,000 DVDs - Even with a "bank" (pun intended) of new 4 or 6TB drives - I would still be sinking. I installed on Win8.1 - no prob - checked options & "unchecked" the "update each week button" (unless this is like Coolector -where they update their database of movies, info, covers, etc - then I would turn it back on. Maybe someone could give me an answer on that one? Please?
I am already up to 3700 input on the other database & I would really NOT starting over again from scratch. Can this program read bar code from scanner (flat bed)?

Datacrow is a very good program but unfortunately it requires JAVA to work properly...

And JAVA is NOT exactly what I mean for SECURITY....how about you?

I am having trouble installing this, the pop up box for my email address for the activation code isn't popping up. I installed it on my mothers laptop this morning with no problem, does anyone have any ideas?

This is for #5 - Coolector - does exactly what you want & the fee is much smaller than the aforementioned amount.

I will add one more comment. I uninstalled it and left my reasons and the author was back with me within half an hour with instructions as to how to do what I wanted. That gets a 5 thumbs up from me

Good software which does what it claims pretty well!
Absolutely a KEEPER for movie fans out there.
Honestly it's a shame to see so many THUMBS DOWN for no reasons.
Go on like this, folks, and for sure any serious developer will never release any good software here.

As best FREE & PORTABLE alternative I recommend this GEM:

EMDB allways free!

EMDB stands for Eric's Movie Database - an easy-to-use yet powerful utility to organize your movie and TV show collection.

Using EMDB is very simple. The program doesn’t need any external plug-in or library and installs in a few clicks. The interface resembles a wooden shelf where your movies are displayed as thumbnails, though they can also be displayed as a list.

To add a movie or TV show to EMDB, just click the Add button. Enter the title and then press the Search IMDB button. This is the best about EMDB: you don’t have to type in all the details about each movie, because the program looks them up for you online.

Besides a very detailed entry for each movie (including technical details, cast, plot outline, personal rating, genre and a small image), EMDB includes other extra tools like a loan tracker, a built-in search utility and the ability to export the collection to TXT, CSV and HTML.

Try EMDB - full featured, light on resources, excellent and free -- http://emdb.tk/ Every so often I try different movie databases/catalogues and EMDB consistently comes up the best for a wide variety of reasons. Easy to use, a good selection of sorts and searches, and it can import from HDD's. It's free, so why not give it a go. (I'm in no way affiliated to EMDB - just reckon it's fantastic is all.)

I would like to know what is different in this version 7.9 build 1422 to the previous giveaway 7.9 build 1420.
Nothing is shown on the website - Maybe it's just for GOTD users to make them/us think we are getting something new....

Installed perfectly. Imported 522 movies in under 3 1/2 minutes. It works well. I was looking for something that would import the full data from movie sites i.e plot summaries, rating etc. This didn't do that so I can't use it but it seemed to do what it was designed for. I think $40 is a bit steep

Installed and registered with some problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 bit system.

Program started first with an Error:Cannot open file d:\video_ru.xml, then the small input field for the email did not accept the "@" sign, really needed for an email address, after "copy&paste" I repeated two times until an "email was sent", but did not receive immediately...

Okay, now it is registered.

An US company with address from Seattle.

A clear resizable window opens, it shows the demo database with all information about the collection. Additional plugins for the database management and the database search can be found here :

http://www.bolidesoft.com/allmymovies/download.html

but it is wise, first to get acquainted with the existing presets. Adding movies from your collection can be done by entering title and more info by hand, by barcode or from an existing video on your HD.

These information are send to online movie databases and returned with the full database info, which are automatically entered in this software.

This works as it should. In the same way as their Book management software.

By using this software (and all software of this kind!) think about, that other companies are interested to know (and they pay for that), what you have and what you watch. Starting from simply statistical reasons (distribution of videos) up to legal reasons.

Therefor read the disclaimer - and you should inform yourself, what the online movie databases do with your request.

Unintalled via reboot, my movie database is not that big, that I need a database manager for that.
