I used t have something like this for letting me know ahead of time when to bring chocolates home for the Mrs. It more than paid for itself. Thanks GAOTD

Sorry GAOTD I had to give you a thumbs down on this one. It is of absolutely no use to me. If it is something I can not evaluate then it automatically gets a thumbs down. Gender related software is like a shot in the dark. And will only get a small percentage of people trying it. This is still a good offering even if it is not for everyone.

Keep up the great work GAOTD. I will check back tomorrow.

Hi,

I downloaded around 15 hours back for my wife. It looks to be an interesting tool. the interface is quite user friendly. It looks to be an useful tool if data is recorded properly in the long run. They have easy to use icons to mark the calendar days.
Thank you SoftOrbits adn GOTD Teams.

Now, the Demographics might be right, the female 50%, the portion of the 50%, say again 50%, so 25% will find this of some use. Without downloading and test-driving it, I know not whether Safe days are in Bright Green, and Dangerous Days in Bold Red, or whether it's a surreptitious S or D in the corner of the Square containing the date.

But Somehow, call me prudish, I CAN NOT SEE THIS BEING PUT ON THE FRIDGE DOOR.

This software is helpful for women with fertility issues. They need to track their cycles along with their temperatures daily to find their most likely time to conceive. Judging from the comments, I'd be willing to guess very few of the people on GOTD are part of a couple trying and failing to start a family.

I have no issue with a software targeted solely at Women being offered occasionally. Given the amount of diligent research that spammers do I'm sure Ladies get "more than their fair share" of penis enlargement email. Surely we can tolerate a non-male specific offering on GOTD.

@OliviaB #6: Vertical folkdancing is great fun too. The trick for me is not having so much fun that I look like I'm riverdancing for more than the final minute.

The fact that the great majority of visitors--74% as of this post-- gave this program a 'thumbs-down', yet it was made clear from the comments (most of which were moronic, btw) that very few people were actually interested in this software, finally shows beyond a shadow of a doubt how FUBAR the voting system is here at GOTD. It's quite clear that 489 people DID NOT download and try this software, so WHY are they down-voting it?!?

It's sad that so many of the people who were whining that there was an overabundance of video converters and file un-deleters came back to whine about this offer, instead of applauding GOTD for their variety.

But unlike some of the pathetically self-centered individuals posting here, I actually thought of someone-- a friend at work-- who would benefit from software like this. I have no idea how good this program actually is, but my friend and his wife (whom I already knew were trying to have a child) were very appreciative after I gave them the heads-up on this offer (not to mention, this cool website-- which my friend did not know about).

I don't need something like this - anymore. That's because we are finished having children. But when we were trying - and having trouble - we ended up succeeding with the help a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" that explained in detail how to track your cycle using basal body temperature. Before reading the book, we had tried for nearly two years without success. After reading the book, we conceived within two months. And the basal body temperature readings told us of our success even before a test could.

At the time, a program like this would have been a godsend. Instead, we ended up using specially-formatted printed calendars.

I only wish that the program didn't bother with horoscopes - which have no scientific bearing on fertility - but did include tracking of cervical mucus, which is another useful fertility indicator.

Ok, my personal opinion is that it simple has glitches! Entered 2 years worth of data to see what it spits out and every now and then, it simply cannot count! It does seem like a nice idea to keep count of your cycle whether you are trying to be careful or get pregnant. However, my mobile does the same thing.
Furthermore, the most interesting possibly aspect - days to concieve a boy or a girl- don't work.

Very good program, been using it since the last version on GOTD. It really works. Especially the option settings for moody. But it should be more flexible in settings for these day's. Does not work for all user on the same computer. So with 2 women at home I need at least 2 versions installed for 2 different users... Let's see if the new version works next to the old version...

Don't need this, but I HAD to come on to thank everyone for one of today's funniest reads! Laughed my way through the whole thing, and I say that in a positive way -- I actually hope the developer sticks with it, and that this software is of some use to someone just for the entertainment value today's comments have provided me.

GreeneyedNewbieNovice said: "Without missing a beat he replied, “No need for a calendar where all the days of the month are filled in with Have Sex Today." LOL!! That is almost an EXACT quote I got from my sig other in response to this. Love it!

This installed very nicely for me on Win 7 x64. It has great aesthetics like numerous skins/GUIs, and is very easy to customize and understand. It's also VERY nice for SoftOrbits to offer a full license including updates just for leaving a comment on any site. Kudos to the publisher for these many things.

Technical benefits aside, it's an extra measure of knowledge, reminders, etc. for those who may not believe in artificial contraception. There are many millions of women AND men who do not, for medical, ethical, or religious reasons. Just sayin.'

I'm a guy so, regrettably(?), I'll have to pass. No hard feelings, eh?
@ Dean #25: When exactly was the last time a software specifically for men given away here at GoTD? That's right, NEVER. Even then I'm not complaining, just giving a suggestion: Dear GoTD team! the next time you decide to offer a gender-specific (read women-specific as most likely there won't ever be a men-specific) software, please only do that alongside a more broadly-aimed, as in, not-gender-restricted one. You've run parallel offers many times in the past so that shouldn't surely be a problem, right? Thanks.
@ #37, #42 & #46: Guess they might not be interested. Why not take this as an opportunity and do your own research for a change?

Hey, for all the whiners...instead of complaining about today's deal, how about you all take the day off from downloading and evaluating the software and turn off your computer and get a life.

I personally like the fact that GOTD is finding some variety, whether or not it is of personal interest to me. In fact, GOTD should do more of it. The repetitive offers of DVD converters, registry cleaners, and picture editors gets tiresome.

Okay like I am dying here with all the male comments about this software! I was literally in tears when I read the "reviews"..had to share with my DH. By the way, we do need something like this because not every woman comes on the same time and anything can disrupt a "regular" cycle especially as you age. I like the product and most of the products like these you have to pay. I give this one thumbs up! (sorry guys..lol)

Make this a $1.99 app and you might have a better chance at not only hitting your target audience, but also at a competitive price point.

Hey;

I'm developing a woman's health and fitness site (I know it's a crowded field) but something like this to give away in exchange for an email address would be GREAT.

TO THE DEVELOPERS:Is there a way for me to get a licence to do that? I'd like to know. I have a test site up. We're not officially doing business on that site yet. If you would like to see what we plan on doing with the site please visit www.abetterlookingyou.com.

Kind of simple ovulation, I mean Evaluation.
I got it up and running in 9 minutes and sure enough it works I got Lara croft pregnant, I hope my wife doesn't find out. Seriously, this might be a problem. I'm shure my wife will find this very useful.Thank you GAOTD and Soft Orbits as well for such fine software and no complaints it's free today. Suggestion to developers: There is a whole segment of population out there that have other hormonal problems, specifically thyroid and/or adrenal problems, also diabetes. These people have to track their basal temperature daily, and other temperatures at specific times throughout the day. And, also diabetics could make use of a tracking program such as this, and that is a huge segment of our population, here and in other parts of the world. This would be a great find for all of these people if you could fix the program to:

1) turn off the ovulation section
2) turn on tracking for temps 4 times a day (basal plus every 3 hours)
3) turn on tracking for Blood Pressure and Pulse 4 times a day
4) turn on tracking for Blood Sugar in the morning, then after meals which would be 4 times a day.
5) Another diabetes meal specific could be a specific track for the much advised fasting plus every 15 minutes for 3 hours after a meal
6) be able to change the colors.

The added section for notes is really great, maybe add in more options for moods, carb intake, etc. The fact that you could print these out for the doc and personal records is fantastic.

If you could do these things, this would be a great program for a lot of people...which includes both men and women. You could market to a huge segment of the population. The user interface is really laid out well and easy to use. Being able to print out and/or just view the tracking is really great. Thanks for the software!

@Olivia '6.Hey you guys, women make up 50 per cent of the population, and of that 50 per cent, probably half are of childbearing age. This might be useful to a lot of them.'

I suspect your figures need to be crunched futher - of your half that are childbearing age - how many have computers/internet access? And how many of those will check GOTD for an application like this?

I suspect very few, BUT this kind offering has as much value as any other from GOTD - it could be useful for some and that's good enough for me.

So much negativity for this offering.
What's so wrong with specifically targetted programs?
Musicians or Artists for example, have tailored products aimed at them, yet women (I would think there are more women than any other specific group) who might be interested in this are thought by several computer nerds and geeks - (many of whom wouldn't know a female if they woke up next to one) - to be somehow not worthy of consideration.
For some techy types the only women they see are Lara Croft, or other cartoons of young thin women with big chests, wearing tight-fitting hot-pants.

I should think that only one in fifty of the GAOTD products are of any use to me, yet I still look in every day. The fact that it is of no appeal doesn't mean it's a thumbs down. It means it could well be useful to someone else.

Thanks GAOTD, long may continue to promote the unusual.
And for the geeks; go out for the day instead - you might learn something about the world.

Yeah sure, those down comments look and votes look really like constructive critiques, people... I know for a fact as a woman with a seemingly random cycle that cannot be normalized except by birth control, this could be pretty useful one day. I have a hard time keeping track of my menstrual cycle and the last time it happened because of the random factor.

Does the entirety of the 51% of the population in the world that is female have this same problem? No, but it's useful to keep track of other issues that might be related to the cycle as well.

#22: the fact that there's a majority giving a thumbs down doesn't mean much. Anyone who has visited this site more than twice will have seen that a lot of people automatically vote down anything they personally aren't interested in. Stupid, but they do. (Voting down things they *are* interested in, but can't use because of problems with the software, would be a lot more helpful.)

This site offers an enormous number of graphics editors, DVD rippers, and so on, so the same sort of application comes along pretty often, and nobody complains. When something genuinely different, and who knows, possibly helpful, appears, lots of people are up in arms immediately. All I can hope is that interstellar travelers don't visit this site, looking for signs of intelligent life. They won't find it. So, thanks, GAOTD, for a less-than-obvious offering.

Manual:

Print out your personal calendar and roll it into a flyswatter.
Beat the progenerative cells untill they are just senseless before you put them where they normally do their proliferative job to avoid pregnancy.

In case you want twins don't beat too hard (just stimulate, shake don't stir) and plan all of this in the month with the sign of twins.

The same principle to be followed for the other months (like in case you really prefer a lion or a bull).

Great!

Come on guys let up. With all the offers GAOTD had every day, can't we accept the fact a few may be gender specific software for the ladies? Some may be gender specific for us guys sometimes. Let up and quit your crying over spilled milk. GAOTD makes a very good attempt (I think) of offering us something to check out on our computers every day. Sure, not every piece of software will appeal to all of us and that's OK but there are sometimes some real gems that come along. Thanks GAOTD for all you do for us. Now, I or my wife doesn't have any use for this product but I do appreciate the offer and I'll pass today. Maybe tomorrow there will be something I've been hoping for.

While many of you males are irritated at GAOTD for having a piece of software on the giveaway that you don't need today, which is very sad considering that you could be trying this out with your wives (if you had one), not all of the software in the giveaways is for everyone. I don't personally have a need for the DVD/Bluray copying software, but I don't have a need to jump on here 3-4 times a week during the giveaways to complain about it.

The idea here is to try out software and give feedback. Not just hate on the idea and don't even bother to try it before you thumbs down it.

With 76% thumbs down at this point, it is pretty clear that more than half of half of the population who *might* be interested AND the ENTIRETY of the other half have not much use for this thing.

All of which poses 1 big question: WHY?? ... why did gotd bother and why did the vendor bother with this offering? In any case, the people have spoken, dudes, and they seem to find not much use in you or your software at the moment.

With the (at least 3 that I know of) *better* alternative sites offering legitimate freebie payware offerings, this site might not need the "Advanced Woman Calendar" to make it irrelevant ... because it is doing it all by itself. Just a question of time before folks stop coming by at all, I suppose.
