Great way to organize and capture time spent on projects - but this version sadly lacking in any way to get that data out again. As others have said - no better than a 'limited functionality demo' - obviously just a tempter.

IAM going to risk sounding irrelevant by saying this: I began at 1p doing a 4-point dnload via DAP with RESUME; I could have been done by 1p in the coming wee hour, 1 hour before the deadline. Everything went smoothly up to 9% in one hour; aw! times 10 and I can make it! with resume. The main site disconnected me; I resumed and did the mirror site as a hedge on my bet; they both began to irratically disconnect me. After an hour of this I was still at 9% on the first and 0% on the second; then Firefox auto kicked in and without resume, so, if it disconnects at any point, IAM dead in the water, can't possibly hope to start from scratch with either site or downloader...it's 5:18p, too late!

I do bloated downloads all the time while I sleep...there's nothing wrong with DAP, let alone FF w/o RESUME, nor the GAOTD servers, and AOL is still doing fine with the unbloated-code-without-obfuscation-added-on-marketed trash they ALL now march to the rhythm of to the tune of the piedpiper king of the desktop. I dismounted versions 9,10,11, this other one called V something or other, deleted all their trash marketed icons off my desktop and in all those deep-layered, hidden folders I had to sniff out using the MS Search doggie, Little Yeller; and I use Version 7.0 with great speed on dialup because I have simple, unbloated AntiDialer, GOATD-offered Antilogger, Spybot, MS Malicious, FF Clue and CoolIris and WOT to spy into layers of links, set up flashing warnings of pot. bad sites; and turn donut red, orange or green GO to warn me; I only allow cookies given, NOT read at my e-m site which FF auto deletes upon SIGN_OFF; and a few other precautionary settings I have enlisted; and if they don't like me, don't want me there, IAM not all hung up and paranoid about it...different strokes for different folks; but,

I MUST say this: 25 years of escalating high-quality hardware and firmware, tight, efficieny design and implementation of solid-state elecs. and disk, flash drives, cams, smart-this-and-that, and all deliverd at the armtwisting demand of not so much, competition, but, whim of the king to sustain it self with bloated code; and all this talk about how the h/w is slow while the s/w is waiting on it:

YEAH, many of the people that post in this forum have a perverted attitude. Your example of giving bucks away is the best. Let's try to keep a healthy position about this website and about the developers that dare to offer some piece of work here.

Downloaded without a problem. Installation is flawless as long as instructions are followed (RTFM).

OK, I'm running a personal trial of this software. For a program not so big, the price ($59.95) seems expensive, but again, I'm gonna try it in-depth. I don't wanna think a developer has overpriced his work before it shows what it can do, what it can solve and how it performs. I am a heavy Outlook user for both proffesional and personal. If this program shows me it can unload PC workload from me, I will surely think about a Pro license. BTW, this GAOTD, at least for the initial attempt, does sync with Outlook, as opposed to the stated features, which I consider a significant added value on behalf of the developer. Lemme take a tour with it.

I've installed this soft, to be true i have not much fiddled with the software. It looks great. it tracks time. gives valuable statistics.

I am trying to look for a graph or gantchart kind of or sort of which gives a birds eye view of my status on a given project or all projects.

some thing that says i am improving or steady etc.. I will feel confident if the program also gives help on how it computes things.

I use the previous version of this software, and it ROCKS. The only thing that was keeping me from recommending it highly to others was that it appeared to be an abandoned product - no new versions, complaints about no replies to the developer. No longer! I got an email two days ago announcing a new version, 1.2.1.

Seriously, I found this software is absolutely indispensable for managing complex projects with lots of information sources and deliverables, and I am very happy to see it here and to recommend it. I have heard complaints about bugs, but I never ran into anything serious. You DO need to understand how to structure your data and organize your workflow - no program can do your thinking for you.

#53, you are mistaken - the only thing that's going on that you don't understand is that there currently is no tiered offering on the FusionDesk web site, i.e., no basic, medium, and full version of the product, just a full version. It appears that they plan to add this, since the pro version is rather pricey (but definitely worth it if you have a nightmare project to manage like I've had!).

To the people complaining about people who leave a negative mark without trying the software. I have access to 7 computers between home and work and I make sure I come here each and every day on all machines and click the Neg tab without even looking at the software because I truly hate the biased moderator on this site. I am offered my comments and opinions to this site for almost 2 years, both good and bad, and anything negative is removed. It got to the point where no matter what I posted, good or bad, it is removed.

I even bought the domain name giveawayofthedaysucks.com and am building a GOTD bashing site (not quite done).

When this place decides to allow all honest comments, good or bad, I will stop clicking that negative link.

Truth of the matter is this, GOTD doesnt give a damn if we download the stuff, or not. All they want is for us to click those google ads (and yes, I am working on getting their account canceled by setting up a program to make it appear they are scamming google by to begin bringing in millions of hits per day on the ads from 4 IP addresses... hahaha ).

I come here daily and I use the thumbs up/down as sort of a guidepost but not an absolute one. I also wait to read some of the comments, just to see ifthis is something that I might either have an interest in or something that I might find useful sometime in the future. Again I don't judge the software on all the comments at face value. I use the comments as a guidepost. I suspect alot others do the same.

I installed it no problem (XP). It does what it says. I uninstalled it 5 minutes after though.
Even though the program is small itself, it's not very convincing to have another process running on the background when Outlook pretty much does most of what it can do for you.
For example I tend to keep Outlook on whenever my PC is on, sure it drains quite a bit of memory, but I don't want another program to run all the time.

man, I've just gatta' tell ya'lls, this is the coolest s/w yet in grand obfuscation I've ever seen! It ran me through the GAOTD "key activated" routine, installed per my given folder location instruction; then ran me to an installer icon which I then d-clicked for yet another, what? install? Then my taskbar began to flash bright orange while the "-what next?" GAOTD page told me my successful activation had done a successful install, so, I went looking for the launch icon in my...sun-of-a-gun! in my flash stick! it doesn't like my thumb drive installation, didn't even tell me so in advance, you know, "sorry OLE Chap, no USA today!"
Then, I found the folder with the launch icon because I had not clue I had one buried under all my layered pages, they never asked me if I wanted one, i felt all wierd-out like this run-on sentence. I d-clicked and ran into a reg window, so, I gave honor to GAOTD and tried to paste the long reg #. Over and over again I tried in vain...so, I finally memorized the thing and did a type: INVALID KEY it yelled and flashed out excitedly! I went to DAP and d-clicked to do a re-install: "this file does not exist," said DAP! and IAM looking right at it! {that's what you get for working in the yard all day in the Texas sun: bugs in your system]! and a colon shift! with a spike!

So, I went back and found...oh, no, i almost forgot, I couldn't do the cut 'n paste; duh, thought you had me, didn't you? I found the icon on my desktop and d-c'd it: I got one of these digit-shift window boxes like when you are installing something and the little tick blue squares pass on by and make you dizzy...then it repeated the process, right there on my desktop! then silence; couldn't click the icon anymore...YIKES! did it do an uninstall? was the uninstall icon switched to being installed on my...aw, man, I give UP; no one will believe this. I laughed falling down yesterday when this guy said XXX gave him a warning about the Russian Federation until Fubar (?) said he checked it out against an online antivirus scanner; sure enough, this scanner exists and I believe these two guys are serious, but Antidialer would have caught the attempted dialout, mine didn't. It stopped AOL dead in its tracks until I did the allow the first time I installed it; and GAOTD's Anti-keylogger told me Ultimate keylogger was "trying to take snapshots of your screen and keyboard" but I didn't have my USB cam attached.
Too bad I can't seem to convince this pgm IAM legit; I want it because I see a good application to use it with in my GOATD arsenal of giveaways.....but I've never seen such a Mickey Rooney, run-around sort of compiled strings on a desktop! install/uninstall. Thanks all.

It really bothers me that people vote negative just because they don't happen to need the particular program. That's not what the voting is for. It's only to be done AFTER you have installed and tried it, and then the vote is your evaluation of how well the software works and if it does what it claims to. The problem is, software companies that donate here are looking for reviews that they can use on their site or for other reasons. If we continually send these people 30% grades, then how many software companies do you think will want to subject their hardware to so tough a crowd! If you don't have constructive criticism about the software, and I mean constructive, then don't vote "Down." Comment all you want, but don't vote "Down."

To Neal Bench: The test report for a person you highly respect was written in 2007. The software available today is new and not even available to the public yet. How in the world is this relevant? So, if you don't like it, don't download it. It's great that we even have a site like GOTD that offers such an incredible variety of software. How can you piss and moan about that?

To #10 & 48- there's a proggy called USBrunner free, that lets u run it right from the usb drive, so reg keys not needed. It was interesting that maker thinks this version can't be used on a usb, but peeps here say it can be.
I didn't download & try this simply cause I know I don't need it. And I sure hope GOTD never makes downloading something here the criteria for posting. For several reasons. Like my comments now, & what if the software couldn't be installed or downloaded right? Or someone had a prob with it? I have need of a time management app such as this, but after trying it and not being very interested in the version offered here, I dug a bit deeper and visited the developer's website. My thought was to possibly buy the "pro" version for the functions omitted from the giveaway. I started with the forum. It would seem that the developer took a lengthy hiatus(2 years) after the GOTD offering of March 2007. The offering at that time was for "FusionDesk Deluxe". Today's offering is for "FusionDesk Deluxe 1.2"...what? The "deluxe" version has only changed in appearance and not in function since 2007. All functional changes since then, and only recently, have been made only to the "pro" version. So basically, the offering today is a re-skinned, two-year old, bare-boned tease.

The website itself is as pretty as the interface of FusionDesk 1.2 is...and I am a firm believer in form following function...but a nice new hat on an old sway-backed mare will not find it a place in my stable.

It appears that what you are getting with the "deluxe" version are the same functions as the "starter" version without an expiration date.

So it all comes down to trust. Can one put trust in a developer that will put a pretty new bow on an old gift and expect gratitude. Or better yet...make you pay for the actual gift!

After taking into consideration all the pros and cons, mentioned or not, I will pass on this offering...again.

Is this giveawayoftheday software or trialware, betaware? This "Deluxe" version has less capabilities then the "free" version. While there is plenty of great freeware software out in the clouds, GAOTD should focus on who is going to be the customer. Will it be the consumers or will it be eastern bloc software hackers that want to make us feel privileged to alpha test the software and possibly compromise our own computers.

#48 - I can't use it as a portable just by finding the activation key place in the registry, because while monitoring the installation process I saw that it created lots of keys in the registry, etc. So, it doesn't behave like a portable app. Therfore I assumed that there should be another way to configure installation (like some other programs that have a portable installation possibility do sometimes).

No, you're at fault as to this point when it comes to the publisher's overall credibility: The program version offered ("1.2 Deluxe") is very likely to NOT do "what they say it will do" since it never will be officially released.

As Fubar, #8, wrote, this is exactly the same wording as the May 24, 2007 GOTD-only version, which was never released.

On May 24th 2007 we were presented the same blurb ("Message from the publisher") as today's: "FusionDesk Deluxe is a version not yet available from our official web site. It will cost $59.95 but only today you get it for free ..."

Well, did actually the 2007 version (1.1.5) become "available" after May 24th in compliance with Virtuoza's announcement?
No, it didn't since up to date THERE IS NO official "Deluxe" version of FusionDesk at all. All you can get except for 24 hours on GOTD is the Starter and the Professional version.

Let's face it by putting it plain and simple: The only Bulgarian participator in GOTD is a liar!

An open-source alternative time management and tracking software that I highly recommend is Todolist from abstractspoon.

It bothers me that the developer offers three versions of and app that does so little in the first place. The version offered here is virtually useless to anyone with a hard filing system. Having to do multiple screen prints would get annoying very quickly. I can see that the functionality is geared toward small non-technical projects such as you might find in a SOHO or small construction company.

This offering loaded and ran on my Vista 32-bit system with zero problems. But I give it a thumbs-down based on the tight limitations of this "special" version.

First , get a program like Revo Uninstaller google it ( its free )
That should remove all regristy's related to the program

After removing all of the old then download this one from

I am tired of the people who vote negative for software that works. Just because it is a piece of software that you may never use in your life doesn't mean you are allowed to vote it negative. If someone has a use for it and it works then great go for it. If you don't have a use for it then do not comment on it and do not give it negative.

I can use this program for my internet radio show to help keep it organized. People are saying it is a good program so I am going to download it and if it works I am going to keep it.

I am changing the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say then do not say anything at all" to "If you don't have a use for something and have no experience with it then don't give it a negative review".

These people work hard on this and give it away to you for free and you criticize it because it doesn't give you the dog on dog porn that you want.

In summary, if you don't have a use for it then do not download it and do not review it.

to #10 i would imagine that you would just install the software on a usb and activate it, but to use on other comps you would also have to activate on them as well. search the registry for the key if you can't activate on them. doesn't look like anything im interested in. as for reminders and alerts there are many freeware type programs and taskplus used to have a freeware version if you search you may find it, but im sure there are many other freeware info/project/management software out there. and finally this should be the Pro Version , if its not the standard version is available on their website. if this it the case then this is not a giveaway but just an advertisement!

Um, the whole point of publishing here is to get "tech savvy" people to evaluate their products core functions. This is not a bad thing. It gives us a chance to use software that we might not otherwise be able to afford for free, and it gives them a chance to get an idea of where they can approve their software and possibly some reviews to promote it with. It's a win-win situation. I don't see how you could complain about it, it's not as if you're being charged or forced to use the product.

I have been using Mozilla Sunbird for a while (a great free alternative btw) but I was really unsatisfied with the it's to-do list. It lacks a lot of the organizational features I was looking for, such as creating subtasks or listing in order of certain properties and then sub-properties. So I decided to give this Giveaway a try, and overall I think I will stick with Sunbird. This Giveaway does offer the ability to create sub-tasks (or "folders") but it misses out on a lot of what I liked about sunbird, such as the ease of adding a new task and the ability to dictate the progress as a percent. The whole timer and estimated time remaining thing is interesting but doesn't seem too useful since most of us have no idea how long something will take.

Overall it wasn't for me, but it is a valiant effort by the developer.

I have been looking for a time/goal/task management program to help me complete a novel. So I am going to give FusionDesk a try. It installed and registered fine. I have been playing with it and it seems stable. I like the feel of it. It's simple enough to not make you waste time trying to save time... (which I can be very good at). So thank you very much GAOTD and Virtuoza.
The only thing I would say is I don't think the template add-ons are working. Or am I missing something? The Seven Habits one is empty, there are no folders or tasks (or proposed folders and tasks).

Anyway, it's still a big thank you.

I tried to install the software by copying and pasting the registration key to activate it, but got the message that it was an invalid key. Then I tried to type the registration key and got the same answer. This means only the trial version is available if you don't want to pay the full price. Therefore: Thumbs down as far as I am concerned.

Downloaded and installed on Win XP Sp3 very easily. Registered without a flaw.While the manufacturer states that this is a new unreleased product, There are plenty of resources avaliable for you to learn how to use the product.(In the opening dialog there are three options for help and how to use the product.Some may be in the works but it is not released without some documentation.)

For me personaly, the reminder feature alone is an awesome resource!

I recommend that you forego all the comments listed here and try the software for yourself if it is something that you are intrested in. If you do not like it then remove it. Very simple.

Further from #34: On the welcome screen it allows you to sync with Outlook. I could not figure out how to get the welcome screen to come up without exiting and restarting. I like the idea of being able to see my tasks on my windows mobile phone. And this looks like a workaround to do that.

There is a good summary that gets put in the description under Tasks in Outlook. Could be useful when giving updates when away from the computer.

I find the comments section here far more helpful in making the decision to download than the "Thumbs" rating, perhaps it would work better as a guide if the thumbs up/down buttons were situated below the comment box, perhaps even only available when leaving a comment.

Today's offered program looks interesting, but doesn't appeal to me enough to give it a good testing straight away, therefore I haven't voted yet. To leave a thumbs down because it's not overly exciting to me personally would be rather misleading, as it may work exactly as described and be just what someone else needed. I wish everybody who gives a rating would say why they like or dislike it!

Jury is still out. Installed fine. First glance has everything I use/need. Looks pretty. Will probably try it out in pretty good detail. Like the idea of it syncing with Outlook (and therefore will sync to my phone). If this version does not, not sure I will keep it long term though.

As for this software. It appears to be quite buggy. It's functionality has a lot to be desired. I know software is offered here for free for our evaluation so that the companies can learn from it. No problem.
THis software just isn't what it could be. MAybe their next version will have some improvements.

Installed and activated on Vista home without problem. Ran sync to Outlook 2007 successfully.

I can't properly evaluate or rate Fusiondesk without being able to generate reports, which, in my case, is the main reason for using time management software.

#19. Almost everything I was going to say was said by you. Cheeze I think some people come here instead of therapy! I have one suggestion to the GOTD website masters: Instead of allowing anyone and everyone to vote, and post, improve your activate key to generate a unique code that would allow only those who have installed the program to vote and post. Because frankly, if you didn't even do that, I don't give a damn about your opinion.

I'm a software developer and use a much more advanced project-management and issue-tracking tool for my work. I wouldn't consider this for technological teams at all, but for home projects. When considering that, this is over kill and with so much emphasis on looks (big colorful butons, skins, etc.) it's evident they spent their R&D money in the wrong place.

But it's cute and will be useful as a to-do list for stuff around the house. But $90? That's a little steep. Maybe I'll find more power underneath as I use it. I'll admit I haven't looked at any of the reports yet, and there is a start/stop timer which is quite useful. Wait--reports? Where are the reports? Ah--that's in the paid version. Well, what do you expect for something that's free?

Does the no commercial use mean I can't use it on my office computer? :(
