I'm loving this. I am able to do a collage of photo's to post on my blog of events I attend plus I am very behind on scrapbook pages so this will make easy to catch up by just doing a quick collage. Hardest part so far was deciding what photo's to use.

I am running windows Vista and the Activation program has not worked on ANY program for the past two weeks. it looks right but the program expires when a trial period runs out! I activate my programs after I install them just as the instructions say. What's Up!

RE: My Question (#94) with regard to this app being bundled with pcls.exe; As neither GAOTD or the developer answered the question, I uploaded the pcls file to Virus Total...See the results at the following link.

http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/38bab353d8d5fae4fe3cb97f20bcdd12

It looks like a virus to me, and a nasty one at that. Can any programmer here comment on the Virus Total file structure and verify?

Many Thanks,

Blu

I really appreciate the gift, it will really help me make some nice collages, I hope.

It seems activated, but it is still asking for a registration....have I not done it correctly, perhaps? I'm running Vista.

Thanks again!!

The zip file scanned clean with NOD32 and Spybot S&D. After installing I uploaded the .exe to VirusTotal, someone else had already scanned it, and here's the link for the report.

http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/38bab353d8d5fae4fe3cb97f20bcdd12

Only one hit out of 32 scanners, that's enough for me to consider it a false alert.

Well that was sure strange! Maybe the server was truly that busy for 20 mins, but it's hard to believe. Took 20 mins of trying to activate, with it saying couldnt connect to GOTD, but it finally did.

Thank you GOTD & Wondershare! I especially like the frames and stamps! :)

I have been pleased with Wondershare programs and they are on a list I keep of programs worth recommending to others.

When using winzip, don't use the wizard, use the classic. If you let it unzip itself with the wizard, it installs it for you but you do not see the activate or readme file. I unzipped it to the same folder I downloaded it to, ran the activate.exe after running the setup.exe and the program came right up. When I clicked the register button, it showed the registration information grayed out but it is fully activated.

#70, mike, if you bothered to do an installation trace, you would notice that this definitely does damage your flash installation. It installs an old Flash8.OCX, downgrades the installed version information to 8, and deletes a flash-related CLSID. It doesn't delete other flash files lying around on your computer, but your flash installation is definitely damaged. Adobe/Macromedia plug-ins are the number one reason why browsers crash (flash intros and ads are everywhere).

For all the people making a big deal out of activating after installing, it makes absolutely no difference with this software. You can do it in either order.

#121, garfey2006, this doesn't affect your Internet connection. There is an uninstall routine in the installation folder, and in the standard Windows list of installed programs. Activate doesn't install software, it only affects some Registry entries (nothing Internet-related).

I've downloaded programs from here for about a year and never had a problem with any of their programs before. I'd really like to try this program!

Has anyone confirmed whether the "PCLS.EXE" is or is not a
trojan in this particular program ? It seems to me that this
is a question that should be of concern to those of you that
have installed this one. I love Wondershare products but I have
to pass when I see trojan warnings. Someone with knowledge in the
trojan/virus field should speak up please. Thanks,

This program installed perfectly on Vista. And yes, you do have to right click on the Activate file to get it to register correctly. I ran the program and made a background from a photo I have on my computer and it worked great. Pretty simple tools though. Thanks GOTD.

Installation: easy - download file, (did not need to unzip), read the readme.txt. Ran Setup.exe then Activate.exe from within my zip program. Opened the program and checked that it was registered by clicking on the Register button at top right of screen and yes, it's registered.

Ease of use: very easy, probably most suited to those with minimal PC experience or with no other graphics programs. Young school children could use this for projects, for example.

Functionality: OK, very basic, suitable for it's intended audience (ie NOT for graphics artists!)

How I tested it: I clicked the Create from template button, chose an image library (top left), and dragged in some pics from the library displayed on the left of the screen as thumbnails. The individual photos can be moved around within the frame to get them looking more centered. That done, I did some editing by adding photoframes, masks and filters. These are cumulative, and there is an undo option. I could only edit one photo at a time.
Then I decorated the collage, adding a title and some photo descriptions, dropped some cutesy clipart and stamps on the page, and a little bit of freehand doodling, then saved it and printed it.

There was no watermark, which is great. (Some people above have complained that the program leaves a watermark - perhaps their copies were not registered.)

Overall - it's OK. Easy to use, good for beginners, enough functionality to allow a little bit of creativity without being confusing.

At first I wasnt going to comment on the product, since Wondershare products speak for themselves. Excellent company with products in the right price range!Plus I purchased an earlier version of this program and I love it!
BUT
#94 I have never never had an issue with something I have downloaded from this site. I have refused to download items that require me to get .net! Either way dude you need to investigate what a trojan is and what trojan like activity is. Basically this information has been on the Internet since at least 1998. Stop being so paranoid!

#2 How old are you?

#25 I don't see anywhere it says it is a photo editor, so why bring it up? As for your comment "I think it is made for some women, children and computer illiterates", first of all I am NOT computer illiterate, and if you had not been living a cave for the last 15 yrs you would know that very few people are computer illiterate anymore. I run on my PC paint shop pro 12, abobe photoshop CS3 and Adobe InDesign. I take photos with Nikon cameras only D80, D200, D300.Just one of the lens' I own for these cameras probably cost more then your entire computer system! So don't assume I don't care about picture quality! I love Wondershare products! I use them all the time! My 9 yr old grandson who has already written a nice game program I assume can run circles around you! I am a Grannie, that has gotten excellent results from this program. But beaware this grannie has been a computer science graduate since 1976 with continuing education until 2006.Just because your inadequate doesn't give you the right to down other people. Grow up!

I think this is good software. It does exactly what it says it will do and makes a reasonable job of doing it.
You can move images around, frame and shadow and save as bmp or jpg.
If your looking for a simple well programmed collage programe this is a very good place to start.
Excellent value for a free give away

Uh-oh...

I got a "Runtime Error" pop-up when I tried to Activate this software. Here's what it said:

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's Support Team for more information."

My PC doesn't seem to be running as well ever since I installed it, and a few strange things are happening [example: I couldn't get into my Gmail account for quite a while. This cleared up after I rebooted.]

I contacted Tech Support & they responded promptly, but it was a "form" letter saying they'd get back to me in 1 or 2 days.

I'm not sure I want my PC working this slowly for 1-2 days. I looked for a way to uninstall, but none of the standard methods worked. There doesn't seem to be an "uninstall" anywhere in any of the normal places, and I think I know them all.

FYI, I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 2.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I think having to purchase extra templates is ridiculous. Templates should be given away free as well.

To be honest, I've found the templates on offer with today’s giveaway very limiting. to make this program anywhere near decent it would need the additional pack to make it worthwhile having.

The link to get the extra templates is an annoying sight that tells me this isn't a full version; more like an extended trial.

Not a treat

Re Guych comment #44,

Provided you've activated the program on the day - using the icon with the key, or on days when you get a full registration code - you can then install the executable at any time, though you do need a full set up program. Most of the set up programs that you can get from the developers home site will work with the giveaway activations, (but not always).

My advice is install it on the day to be sure. If it's a program you really want to keep then it's probably worth buying anyway.

I have noticed several times on giveaways that people have trouble with activation. I ALWAYS read the Readme file first after I unzip the download - especially if there is an Activation and a Setup file. The Readme file tells you what order to open the files. Todays program says to run Setup first and then run Activation. A program a few days ago said to run Activation then Setup. I don't know why the order changes, but I just follow what the Readme file says and I've never had a problem. Good Luck and Enjoy!

No problem with installation on XP although it felt strange to use set-up before install :) As a side note: I never unzip files - just start them straight from Winzip.

I haven't played around too much with the various effects but this will be useful to transfer a bunch of pictures for my mom - the only person in the family with no computer yet (we're working on her though). I could do all of this in Photoshop but why bother.

I did create a test page and printed it. It was very slow in creating the print file but I had no 'watermark' problems that others complained about. I am guessing that the cause could be not restarting the program after the activation process was completed. If you open the program immediately it is unresistered. Re-opening after activation shows it as registered. I will also have to try the save function - I'm interested in the resolution used.

Thanks GAOTD, another nice offering.

Hey 63- I'm and idiot. I had neglected to remove an older wondershare product from my archive and got it mixed up with today's offer. It worked just fine when I figured that out. By the way, in the readme to the old program, it did say to activate first.

For #106, readme file says run setup file then activate file. After activation start the software. If you click Register icon (a key) at top right and between File and Help icons you will see the program has been registered. My OS is win2kpro, hope this helps.

My only complaint is that the templates (with pictures added) save as .pcs files, which is a file extension already used by Pfaff embroidery design files on my system. That may end up being a problem. I could just use a screen capture, I suppose.
I do like the look of the pages, though. I plan to print them on fabric to put on a quilt. Thanks, GAOTD
