Based on the famous SQLite structure 1-abc.net Personal Addresses organizes all your contact data. The program starts directly after you clicked the icon and anything you enter is saved automatically. You can search for single entries using wild cards in each part of it. You get a result table with all entries matching your search. You can sort the whole list or the filtered data after each column. And you can decide by your own where the data base file is located and even network drives are possible so that 1-abc.net Personal Addresses can be installed on another computer than the data is saved.

Switch between different address data bases, encrypt your address data with a personal password using the famous AES encryption, export addresses to *.txt, *.csv or *.sqlite, print all your addresses or only filtered data in the order you want … you see, managing your contact data with 1-abc.net Personal Addresses is so easy that it can even be fun!

  1. First of all I was confused by what the software can do, so I download it.

The installation was OK, but the registration was horrible. You have to register at the manufacturer’s (I hope it was the manufacturer)site. They send you an e-mail (ended in Spam on Gmail)to verify your e-mail address. Once you verify it, they finally send you the registration key.

You can see the software in action here: http://www.aj3000.org/demo/demo.html

In my opinion, this software doesn’t do anything that your spreadsheet software cannot do. Moreover, I cannot see what I could use the software for.

    Thumbs down this time. Sorry!

  2. I have a folder named Addresses located in my documents. Also telephone numbers along with it. Anything changes I know where its at and insert the change. I click save while exiting out. I don’t have that type of information scattered all over my PC. It is backed up also.

Just to clarify matters this would be best done in a database not a spreadsheet; spreadsheets are for calculations, databases are for storage and retrieval of information.

Both free programs OpenOffice and LibreOffice will allow you to create your own address storage system.
