YouTube to MP3 High Quality Downloader 4.0.2 was available as a giveaway on October 26, 2013!
There are a lot of tools let users easily download YouTube MP4 and FLV videos on the web. However YouTube MP3 downloaders are quite few, especially for downloading high quality MP3 audio. YouTube To MP3 High Quality Downloader is a windows desktop tool that downloads YouTube videos to high quality MP3 music files directly.
The application has the ability to search and choose the best HQ resource from YouTube, and download the high quality file. Besides the MP3 format, YouTube To MP3 High Quality Downloader also supports saving the audio to original AAC format, or downloading the MP4 video.

Hi there all, here every one is sharing such know-how, therefore
it's fastidious to read this weblog, and
I used to pay a visit this webpage everyday.

I like the software and have no need to download and keep a video of an album cover. It bypasses the commercials and downloads the file quickly. I would like the option to convert to 128kbps instead of 256 kbps (or keep it at original quality). You are able to install it where you want and save the conversion in your folder of choice if you want also (mugwah). Thanks GOTD and PDFZilla.com

Installed fine and working. But will it still work when YouTube makes changes? You know, many other programs like JDownloader or Internet Download Manager are getting updated very often of this. I hope somebody can answer my question, because if it won´t work after an update of the YouTube site (or others), we can´t use this program today forever and have to buy it. Have a great weekend all! :)

All This "optimizing" YT mp3 files to an "insane" high quality as our buddy Giovanni says is utter baloney. All you get is the ability to grab the audio at the quality it is posted at. Mp3 is an algorithm that removes data. That's how it compresses. In music, data is....music. So you are discarding part of the music, the higher range of the audio spectrum to be precise. Once the data is gone, it's gone. You cant take a 128kbps mp3 and make it better by converting it to 320. YT doesnt even support 320. You just get a bigger file. Since stereo separation occurs at higher frequencies, higher bit rate mp3 still stinks. It's flat and lifeless. Ok for portable listening, and not much else.

There are a number of improvements I'd suggest:
1.) The video quality can not be set by hand and, more importantly, the user doesn't even know the video quality he will receive from the download until the results are manually inspected. One can at best guess the quality by the download size. What this application really needs is an ability to choose the video resolution. Do I want the video in 1080p, in 720p or only in 480p/360p?
2.) Youtube doesn't provide 320kbps audio quality in their streams, so it's useless to encode an audio-file in that quality. It doesn't help the quality any and it will only lead to much wasted space, once you've collected a couple hundred MP3 files. Instead do what freeware/open source software like FLV Extract has been offering for years. Extract the existing audio stream, which is often available in MP3 format anyway, from the video. You won't need to re-encode and lose quality and the file isn't unnecessarily bloated.
3.) Many other applications currently allow the download of videos in 720p/360p, because that's nothing more than a single file download. It's ridiculously easy to do and it isn't worth to pay 30 bucks for. What this application needs is a way to download the other formats that are not so easily downloadable anymore, namely 1080p and 480p.
There may be more interesting features a video downloader could provide, but these are absolutely essential before I would even think of paying for it.

With curiosity to see if this GAoTD might have any features better than free tools for Youtube downloading and converting to MP3, I downloaded and installed the programme without any problems (Win 7, 64-bit).
I have tested this GAoTD to download a 6-min video and keep it as MP3 file. It took longer than my favorite free programmes but did not show any better quality of the sound.
- To download videos not only from Youtube but also from many other sites (Vimeo, Dailymotion,...), the Ashampoo® ClipFinder HD works extremely well with rapid speed. This free software can be downloaded from here:
http://www.ashampoo.com/en/usd/pin/0155/Multimedia_Software/Ashampoo-ClipFinder-HD
(When you install this software, keep in mind not to accept to install some other adware then it would be fine).
- If you are not allowed to install a software on the computer, then you can use online programmes to download videos. This site (keepvid.com) offers you with various options of Youtube video qualities before you start downloading (Java required). Again, keep in mind not to click on any advertisements or your computer would be filled with rubbish like iLivid... The site also contains a link for extracting Youtube videos to MP3.
- When you got your MP3 and wish to trim/cut some part of the music with ease, the free online programme may be a great one:

I used to dabble in hifi.
Share some basics here.
Rule #1 - if the source is low quality, no subsequent downstream hardware and/or software is going to make it high quality. If source is lousy, then recording it in high quality audio medium will not improve it. If source is MP3, then recording it in FLAC is meaningless and will not improve the sound. Some of the Youtube videos on the Internet have sound track that is deliberately crippled/damaged/played at faster or slower speed.
Rule #2 - there are many audio formats. MP3 is one of them. It is not "high quality". But it is good enough for everyday usage for the PC to generate sound. There are other higher quality audio formats.
Opinion #3 - digital MP3 sound is never going to match the high fidelity of analogue sound from a top quality LP record > turntable > amplifier > speakers system.

I'm a little surprise that gaotd picked this software today when they just handed out a gem on 10-20-13 which was called streaming audio recorder. that program does the same thing and more plus it tag your audio so this program I will pass. To Gaotd how about giving out Evernote which has not been out for longer than a year.

sorry, but this program is useless without the ability to tag the audio and for 30 bucks is way too much. for $19.95 you can download this nice program that will tag your audio and you can use it to get music from any online place. you tube, online radio, Pandora, etc. my alternative: https://applian.com/order/order_paypal_cd2013?pkg=RARN&tag=RARN5&referral=applian.com it's called replay music.

Nice try, but no cigar:
-- Program stopped my first download at 10% of the download; there is no option to start the download again.
-- When running, the program puts the program icon on the desktop, for dropping UELs onto. A nice idea at first, but then it simply is more desktop clutter.
-- Program settings options, including to eliminate the program desktop icon, do not take.
-- While not a big issue, the program creates its own Downloads folder on your main drive, rather then simply using the folder that is already there. Again, unnecessary intrusiveness.
Wanted this to work and more smoothly, but not to be--uninstalled.
By the way: why does the developer hide its identity? There is no developer info. at the listed website--very odd and even suspicious. (While PDFZilla is listed above as the publisher for the program, it does not seem to be the developer and simply seems to be the distributor for the giveaway.)

Installation was a breeze but after that... not much good.
The nonstandard GUI (small pop up may be okay for smart phone users but not on a desktop) has buttons for exit and minimize the size of small molecules.
The green and yellow "skin" is a GAWDAWFUL barf color combo.
The "Drop Zone" is dead. I couldn't drop anything there.
The green "What's the YouTube Video URL" bar is live BUT the first time I tried drag & drop nothing happened. (cursor changed to Black NO circle if I tried dragging over ANY part of the popup)
Copy/Paste was fun... the program must have inserted a hook that got past my blockers (because Vista requires Run as Admin?) so as soon as I copied the URL, the pop up changed to a new popup -
SCRIPT ERROR
An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 1159
Char: 5
Error: 'yt' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKDJcHFrCOE
That URL is the video I'd copied to paste on the form so I'm not sure if the Youtube Downloader OR Youtube itself is the culprit.
If I click YES (to cancel script) I get another error from the Downloader -
Run-Time error '401':
Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed.
Clicking OK kills the program.
If I click NO...
A dead 3rd page pops up that takes up only about 2/3 of the pop up area. The rest is white space.
If I just force the program to close after the script error the dead page remains on the screen until I remove the program from the systray.
If I launch the program again, sometimes I can copy the URL without triggering the hook and the What is the URL bar is active... but it brings up the above referenced dead page where I can't paste anything.
And, another Youtube Downloader bites the dust.

Downloaded installed and registered fine. Basic GUI and that's fine. Sometimes it sees what you looking at on you tube, other times you copy and paste the url. When it sees what you are doing it names the file. When you copy and paste it saves as a number and you have to re name the file. Bitrate is set as 256, and you can not change it. Over all I like it, but a few more choices in settings would be nice. For the price a couple bells and whistles would be nice.

Hi, This Desktop App hasn't got it's own Search Engine, so the claim "The application has the ability to search and choose the best HQ resource from YouTube" seems a little bit misleading??
One has to PROVIDE http url - otherwise message "URL must be based on HTTP Socket" appears, so no good copy/paste Title/Artist alone.
Afterwards Program "finds"(with your help!:) and downloads that one piece of music and nothing else.
In this important Aspect, read: EASE - YouTube to MP3 High Quality Downloader 4.0.2 cannot beat SpeedMP3 Downloader (not free but often half price, which works out cheaper than this one if purchased) and given here few times for free.
SpeedMP3 Downloader never comes back "empty handed", always gives most intuitive line of choices (page after page), one can pre-listen any piece (from Desktop!) and decide what sounds best before downloading to any destination on PC. You don't have to bother to provide urls, or go anywhere oneline searching for Music/Artist, all from Desktop console.
Another claim of today's Giveaway: "Besides the MP3 format, YouTube To MP3 High Quality Downloader also supports saving the audio to original AAC format, or downloading the MP4 video" - has not been discovered/explored by me, as my first downloaded File ended up as audio MP3 format only. If anything could "better" this Program against the other one I mentioned (the two I compared, there might be other more popular Apps among Users than one I use regularly) - ability to download MP4 video (AS WELL as MP3) could be the only deciding factor for keeping it.
One more thing - program creates it's own Folder in C: (or different Drive), not in Programs.

Downloaded, installed, activated with no problem. Win7x64 machine. I actually have use for a program like this. Only satisfied, as opposed to thrilled by my current youtube to mp3 downloader. Seems a bit slower than my current one, but I'm in a Motel with the slowest wifi I've ever seen so I don't know if its THAT or the program.(afraid to run them both side by side for comparison here.Averaging around 25kb with this miserable wifi.)Pleasing UI and simple to use.In fact "simple" seems to be the watchword for this program. No way to change the bit rate that I can see. Very basic. Works as advertised though so it'll be a keeper for me, at least until I can run some side by side comparisons with my "usual" program for doing this.To the Developers...... $30.00 is insane for this as there are numerous totally free all the time alternatives with more features. Would LOVE to see a way to change the download bitrate ala others in this category.
Thank you to the Developers and GOTD for this.

Marketing this program as a "YouTube mp3 downloader" is misleading as it really just downloads the video in WebM -format and then rips the audio from it and transcodes it to mp3-format. This will inevitably lose some of the audio quality. In the homepage of YouTube to MP3 High Quality Downloader it mentions the mp4- and FLV- formats while in reality most of the 360p -resolution and above videos are in fact in WebM format (Source) and audio inside it is in ogg vorbis container rather than mp3.
You're better off using some of the popular free extensions for your browser, such as ExtendTube which lets you download the video on the spot and then use fre:ac to convert it to the format of your choice.
There's my nerdy 2 cents, have a nice weekend.

I've been looking for a download program since my firefox downloader hasn't been playing well with VEVO videos, just downloads 0 bytes. In the past I'd use Downloader and then convert to audio with Koyote flv converter.
This program installed well on my XP 64 bit system. When you register it, a window comes up for your information and credit card, but just close that window and paste your registration number from the readme file in the ZIP you downloaded.
You must register to download anything, it will start and then at 50% come up with a popup advising you that it's stopped downloading and you need to register to get the full video. After registering you'll have to redo the information to get that video again.
Adding videos is pretty easy, it talks about dragging over but that didn't seem to work for me, so I just cut and pasted. The dialog box give the impression that it downloads several videos at the same time, but it only does one at a time, cuing up the rest to go in order.
I tried a few videos from VEVO, downloading as MP4 and MP3. After downloading, both formats work well. As far as downloading speed, it seems to pretty much real time. I run FIOS with 50 mps downstream, so that's a bit disappointing.
The naming appears to be a bit random. Sometimes it grabs the video's name (adding that it's a youtube video to the name) or it assigns it a 7 digit number. Not a big deal. It does let you browse over to the directory you want to save your file, the default is "Download" in your root directory.
All in all, I'll keep the program. I'm sure there are other free downloaders, probably faster, but this will do the trick for now.I'd never pay $29.95 for it.

Nice alternative to the free browser plugins I have been using. Fast and seemingly effective. However be warned it can get hung up when a URL is incorrect...at least it said it was. remove download feature failed to let me remove the errant entry and had to restart the program. The same URL worked after I restarted the program so there is something wrong somewhere.
Important notes and things need to add:
1. does not save links for later so if lose connection or program glitch can not just pick up on pending downloads
2. can not accept multiple links at once -- at least I didn't find that feature. One at a time but at least you can create a pending list.
3. seems to stall when switching between formats with items pending. Though this could be because of my Win 8 machine.... anyone else experiencing this or do I need to examine my pc?

Why is MP3 being touted as high quality?
MP3 is acceptable for everyday Internet sound purposes.
But it is definitely not a high quality audio format.
MP3 uses a lossy data compression.

I couldn't resist downloading this program as there are so many free ways to get the audio from YouTube; for instance one of the many video downloaders in your browser which you can then convert with the free program FormatFactory to MP3.
FormatFactory link

What they have done with this program is to make it very convenient to do, as soon as you copy the URL program detects it and asks you if you wish to download whilst offering a number of options.
Amongst the options can also download the video file itself, I tested the high-quality download which worked very well.
If you're willing to pay such an excruciatingly high price for the convenience of this program you are richer than I am, or you could get it for free today.

I normally use the excellent, and free,DVDVideosoft Free Studio software to download and convert Youtube MP3's http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/index.htm.
I installed todays giveaway with the view to running a back to back test.
Choosing a piece of Russian Chant(4m22s)I downloaded with both programs and compared the results.
The DVDVideosoft program downloaded and converted at a bitrate of 320 Kbps producing a file size of 10Mb which it stored in my music folder and which it automatically fully annotated with the correct title.
Todays supposedly "High Quality" program performed the same task at a bitrate of 256 Kbps with a resultant file size of 8Mb. This downloaded in a download folder with only a randomly generated numeric title as its means of identification.
Back to back listening provided no discernible difference between the two recordings. The "High Quality" downloader is,to my ears, certainly no better.
On that basis, unless you are really strapped for space,I find no reason to treat todays offering as a keeper and have uninstalled.

This isn't the first time that software from PDFZilla.com has featured on GOTD so it's surprising that criticisms of this particular developer's laziness / sloppiness continue to be ignored.
Today's download and registration is thankfully fuss-free and kudos to PDFZilla for not bundling in unwanted extras, but dumping the installation on C:\ rather than the usual default of C:\Program Files\ is laziness personified.
That same cavalier disregard of an average user's expectations is evident in the program's Settings Menu, where the developer can't even be bothered to incorporate an option to choose, and fix, the destination folder of YouTube downloads -- so if you're not careful, you'll wind up with stuff yet again being dumped on C:\, this time in PDFZilla's c:\download.
Help is forthcoming for an average user who may not have realised that the program installation / destination folder defaults need revising, but that Help is pretty much an embarrassing admission anyway of the developer's incompetence: there'd have been no need of it if the Settings menu had beenm properly constructed.
Novice computer users are in any event going to be bemused by a Help document that says "first select Output format" and then "the last step is choosing the output folder, when the downloading finished the file will be saved to the folder you chose", because the Help terminology is a daft mismatch of the program's own Download Format and Download Path.
All the foregoing speaks yet again of inadequacies / inconsistencies that ought to have been mopped in the most rudimentary of beta stages before punting out to market at $30 a time.
As to the actual performance of the program, I've found it hit-and-miss as a downloader as well as irritating because perhaps predictably, the promise doesn't match the delivery: my Download Format of MP3 Format (*.mp3) - High Quality (320Kbps) MP3 Audio hasn't actually resulted in any audio file with that 320Kbps bit rate at all, and as for AAC, I've nothing to show for that, either.
The ill-advisability of giving the impression that everything downloaded by this program will be "High Quality 320Kbps" regardless of the source material's bit rate provides yet further reinforcement of the feeling that this is a rushed-to-market product that, though free today, isn't worth anything like the $cost of a re-installation -- and is in any event trounced in terms of useability and performance by existing software out there.
Thanks GOTD, and PDFZilla, but no thanks. Uninstalled. This developer really does need to get to grips with its much too casual approach to software engineering.

The quality of the MP3 file you'll get with this program depends entirely on the quality of the source material. If it's a high-quality video with a decent soundtrack, you'll get a decent MP3. If not, you'll get a great big MP3 file that doesn't sound very good. There's no way this software can improve the quality of the audio that was used to make the clip in the first place.

Downloaded and installed easily. Registered by copy and pasting serial number which is included in the download. Tested by picking random music video from YouTube. I found the URL pasted automatically to the pop up box so I simply selected which format (mp3 for me)and output location to save the file.
The GUI lets you see the percentages of conversion and download rate, which is good. Playback was very good quality so this program will be a keeper for me.
Very similar GUI to 'YouTube downloader' which has been offered here on previous occasions. Definite thumbs up!
My only query is; Is this licence permanent or will I need to buy the full version after six months or a year?
There doesn't seem to be any information on that.

I have no interest in YouTube downloaders and I don't know if anyone will see this or if the moderators will post it, but after the raves over Brightness Guide and GOTD users missing out on a lifetime license to Agnitum Outpost Security Suite Pro the day before Bot Revolt, I thought that I would give the GOTD community a heads-up. Brightness Guide had 2 main features that most users were impressed with. The first was the ability to lighten shadows without affecting highlights. At least 90% of photo editors, including many free ones, can do that. The second was a rarely-seen algorithm for lightening shadows. That had promise, but the implementation was poor. Here's one of Brightness Guide's original demo photos. Here's their result. Notice the artifacts everywhere, misplaced shadows, way over-processed tree, and some washed-out areas. Here's the result of a high-quality tool from The Plugin Site which has a much more sophisticated implementation of the same algorithm. There are endless ways to manipulate photos and their lighting. Here's a virtual flash using Focus Photoeditor, one of many photo editors which can do that. All images are Copyright (c) Brightness Guide. That leads me to the reason for this post. GOTD users don't want to do anything harder than pushing a button, and Focus Photoeditor is available dirt cheap on BitsDuJour today. The stupid obsessive-compulsive vote manipulator is going to go nuts rather than get some therapy. I fully expect them to manipulate votes related to this post, just as they manipulate votes every day.
