I upgraded to the lifetime license but I can't figure out how to create an Aomei account. The form asks for a code. How do I get that code. Any help will be appreciated.

Aomei Backupper gets generally "good" (not "great") reviews, and they offer a Free version that apparently Works.

Backupper is a very good partition image backup app, especially since the free version of Macrium Reflect was discontinued. What it's most useful for is cloning one or more partitions to a VHD [Virtual Hard Disk]. Restoring a backup means the reverse, cloning the partition(s) on the VHD to a physical hard disk. Since free space is not included in the backup, it takes up less space than cloning a partition to a physical disk. The VHD with the backup can be mounted, so you'll see it in Windows Explorer as another drive, with all files/folders available to copy/paste & use. And because it is a clone, it's an exact copy of the partition(s) at the time of backup, so you can restore a backup of an entire disk for example, then in case of hard disk failure, restore that backup to a new hard disk and it'll be as if nothing ever happened. The only hassle concerns the bootable USB stick you can create in Backupper. If Windows won't run, you boot off the USB stick to restore a backup, and the USB stick as-is will not work with Secure Boot enabled, which it should be on any current PC/laptop. To fix that copy C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\bootmgfw.efi to X:\EFI\BOOT\, where X is the drive letter assigned to the USB stick in Windows Explorer, delete the existing file bootx64.efi, then rename bootmgfw.efi to bootx64.efi.

I assume that the one year licence expires then goes to free?
Otherwise, would use Ashampoo free now.

As there appear to be three options available today, how is a Novis to know which of these is the better choice?
Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Tom Crawford,
The Cyber Backup program backs up any Virtual Machine you might have set up on your computer. If you don't have a VM set up or even know what that is, you don't need the Cyber Backup program.
The FoneBackup program works with an iPhone or iPad to back it up and facilitates data transfers between them and your Windows PC. If you don't have an iPhone or iPad, then you don't need this program either.
If you don't already have a data backup program for your Windows PC, I highly recommend installing Backupper Pro and set it up to automatically back up your drives at a chosen schedule. I've been using it for years now and it works great.

Tom Crawford, each of the three items is for different hardware or operating systems. One for Virtual Machines, IOS Smart Phones, and one for Windows.
So depending upon what you want to back up, you may need all 3 or maybe none at all if you don't use any of the devices for which each program is made.

Tom Crawford, you mean novice? these are 3 obviously different apps that have different use cases.

Hi Tom Crawford.
One is for virtuale machines.
One is for normal PCs.
One is for I-phones.
Hope this helps!

Tom Crawford, It looks like the download includes all three programs. If you have a PC Backupper Pro would be the one to use. FoneBackup Pro is for iOS (Mac). Cyber backup is more for enterprise (business) use.

Tom Crawford,
They each backup something different. Depending on what you want to back up, select the one that does the job you need: Phone, PC, or Virtual Machine.

I've gone through several backup and restore programs and Aomei is my choice! It's straight forward, easy to use and works. After going through several HD crashes without backups I now backup both my SSDs every other night. A HD/SSD can crash any time!

The download of the software works. AOMEI offers a 1-year license for these programs.
AOMEI Backupper Pro: 1 year license
AOMEI Cyber Backup: 1 year license
I personally use AOMEI Backupper Pro already, I can highly recommend it. It's a great product. The pro license is handed out for 1 year, even though I heard the usage might go even beyond one year.

Marlee, Even if it doesn't go beyond one year the standard (free) version works great.
