In fact, I was a little mad about this program, though it is a good production with powerful functions, but, not easy to use~~

I had tried to download but couldnt get it to work. I also have Windows Vista. I decided to wait for my husband to look at it but didnt realize these downloads are only good for one day. This was my first visit to site. There is no way to still get it free is there? Darn, maybe next time.

Received an email from the site. This free version is not a full version and does not have all the templates that you would normally get if you purchase the full version. They quoted me a 29.95 price for the combo pack which has two programs with all the templates. Feels like a bait and switch when you go to buy the program. Absolutely LOVE this program tho. I look at GAOTD every day and I personally cant use many programs. But this one I definately had to have. Too bad I lose the program at uninstall or computer crash.

I was wondering if there is any way you can do a do over. It looks like most Vista Users like me were able to download the software but unable to register it, I would really like to have this. Please consider a do over.

To #127 - Save the zip file to your hard drive.

That same thing happened to me three times when I chose to 'open' using WinZip as I normally do. But when I actually saved the .zip file to my hard drive and then unzipped from there I had no problems.

Same problem as #96. Installed twice following activation instructions BOTH times activating BEFORE running setup. Program just will not start. Click the program icon and NOTHING HAPPENS.

First disappointment with Wondershare ever. Guess this is the one that "got away"!!!

Running XP PRO w/SP3.

I've downloaded this program twice approx 5 hrs apart and both times when I've tried to unzip the file I've been told that it's not a valid zip file and that it has a bad header file. I've tried unzipping with winzip and IZArc and have received the same message in both programs.

I have XP SP3 not Vista but the writeup says I should be able to install the program as I have the required system requirements.

Thought this would be a good program to try, but as I can't unzip the file to install the program, I guess I might have been mistaken.

Not bad.Personally I use a program called 'Scrapbook Factroy Deluxe' and then I take images from there into Adobe Photoshop, but wanted to see what this one had.

I didn't keep this one, but I will say it's not too bad. It's got some decent features and the fact that it used layers is a plus.

This GAOTD version doesn't have very many templates though. And regarding that I'd like to point this out to the developers:

You are offering additional templates to GAOTD users for a low fee (I say low, because as a designer I know what kind of work goes into these things) BUT....if a person pays for the additional content, and then loses the hard drive or buys a new machine, then this program is gone...can't be installed again after today, hence they would be out the money they spent for the additional templates.

The interface is clean, but a tad confusing with it's 'mystery meat navigation'. Example --> The undo is an arrow that isn't marked with any text. Also the File menu is in an odd place, not where one expects it to be right up top. I'd suggest you re-think your GUI a bit and make it more 'standard' and clearly marked with text options as well as the graphical elements.

This program might work well for an average home user to make some cutsey things for the family album, but for me personally the results just aren't polished and professional enough.

The program I mentioned above is more expensive, but used in conjunction with the high end Photoshop I get good results.

If you are looking for serious collage software, be prepared to spend the bucks....well work it for Lumapix FotoFusion.

A decent free prgram? Scrapbook Flair.

While this GAOTD version is extremely limited in what you get, at 20.00 for what you get for the paid version? While not for me because I want higher end/higher quality, I do think it's worth it for the average home user who will print these at home.

So all in all....while not quite 'good enough' for me personally I'm giving this a thumbs up.

I'm having the same problems as #75. Followed all the instructions THREE times and still no luck - get the hour glass and no program!

I did read the *read me* first, and activated it first. Everything looked like it installed just fine and dandy, but when I finished with the wizard, the *open this program now* box checked, absolutely nothing happened. A little hour glass for a couple of seconds, but no program coming up. I clicked on the desktop icon, and the same thing happened. I removed the program via *add and remove programs* in the control panel, and removed it. Tried downloading and installing again to no avail… Did it a couple more times, just in case. Still didn’t work.

Normally no problems getting GOTD programs to work - not today, too bad.

That is unacceptable!!! WoW!!!

Well if you do such stupid & insecure thing, why wouldn't you install it into the local Wondersahre folder instead of \system32\!!!

Each time, it appeared to download, the program was activated, I did run each as administrator, but...it still won't run. When I cick on the icon, nothing happens! I uninstall it prior to down loading it again. I really want this program!! Can anyone help?!

Registration Solution: Vista Home Premium 32 : I also could not get it to register. Ran ACTIVATE as described, then SETUP, then tried ACTIVATE again as suggested. Failed every time, until I right-clicked "ACTIVATE" and chose "Run as Administrator" - then it registered. I already am the Administrator, but apparently not "good enough" for its needs.

Ok, I downloaded this version on my XP Pro, just fine. Love this program. Even thinking of buying the upgrade for 14.95. But, I only have one question: if I buy the upgrade, can I burn the program to a disk? We have to format our computer almost twice a year. So this would be helpful information. Thank you!

Maybe I need to read the instruction as this seems to be "crippleware" So few templates with limited numbers of pictures. Must pay extra for more templates? I've used many collage programs all of which seemed better ... Photoscape and Picasa and others.

Took me three tries to get the zip file to download properly. But once I did, it worked just fine on my Vista 64 bit. Following the instructions it automatically registered me. I had this before and lost it. So I am glad to have it back. It is an easy way to add frames etc. without dragging out Corel Draw, but is is limited in comparison.

This is my first post here. I've been coming to the site now for over a year and I really need to shout out. Thank you GOTD once again for an amazing piece of software. I've downloaded Wondershare Movie Maker, Photo Collage 4.28 (the last one offered) and Photo Story. After using them each for a couple weeks I went and bought each one, I was that impressed. They sent the registration codes within 24 hours of purchase and have worked faithfully ever since. Hats off to Wondershare for making some fine software and to GOTD for letting us try these and all the other cool pieces of software.
Thanks again.

asking for any registration code. Will have lots of fun playing around with the templates in the file. More templates can be purchased.

Wonderful program! Two thumbs up! I just have one little complaint - you can't resize the window to fit your desktop; the default size is too small and mazimized, it covers my mp3 player. Besides that, I would not hesitate to recommend this fine program to anyone.

I like how easy it is to make a photo collage with this program. For example: you can add stamps, clipart, and even draw something by hand directly onto your photos (Doodle). And everything that you need is right there easy to find...

I had no Registration or Installation problems of any kind under Windows Vista Ultimate 64.

Just remember to activate and install the program under administrator account.

Thanks GOTD and Wondershare for such a great giveaway !

Downloaded, activated & installed with no problems. Used a Father's Day template, added pics & custom text (can select font, color, size, etc.), and in under 10 minutes created a really nice looking Father's Day wallpaper. Wondershare Photo Collage Studio is extremely user-friendly, objects inserted quickly (with options to move, resize, etc. right there), everything accomplished with no glitches, no lag, changed output folder simply... -- Well-made photo collage and wallpaper software. This program does what it claims (as much as I've tried out), effectively. Output resolution looks great. All thumbs (2, 10, however many you have !) up !

For those who are running Vista and can't get it registered, you NEED to run activate.exe and setup.exe as administrator. It's not just "recommended", as the instruction stated. It's a requirement!

(As a matter of interest, does anyone know why this is so?)

Took a few tries to get it to run, but it looked like a fun program. I ordered the added template package and it has some great designs. My only complaint is that it appears you are required to print it yourself vs being able to attach and email to a printing company, which is a disappointment. Otherwise, good program - thanks GoTD

How can people compare this with Photoshop? This is no where close to the power of Photoshop in the right hands, although it is good software.

#86 you need to activate with activate.exe, it took a few times for me too, but they don't give you a key to input into the software. The nag screen will not appear if the activate was successful.

#85: "Also, it installed Macromedia Flash Player 8.x (ActiveX Control)"

FWIW a file named: Flash8.ocx is copied to Windows' System32 folder. The only related registry entry is: "[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash\CurVer]
@="ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash.8"

Prior to install that 8 was a 10 on my system, & I put it back with no apparent ill effects so far, but I'm hardly an expert on Flash... I can't say how Photo Collage Studio might be effected should you remove the file entirely.

Also for those with registration problems, the Wondershare trial & GOTD programs are normally different. You need to make sure you're running the GOTD supplied setup file.

For all those with registration problems...

Activate.exe creates a registry key & value. Setup.exe looks for this key when installing the program -- when it finds & reads that key it installs properly, already registered... click the register button in the program window & it brings up an About box showing it's registered for GOTD users.

Sometimes things do work out nicely! Early this morning I was working on a project of mine and I kept thinking of this program and how useful it was - Unfortunately, it was only on my other laptop, which is, lets say, a bit tired these days and needs me to spend some time with it. I considered pulling it out though. I thought maybe I'd DL the trial version of this and decided to decide later. Well, later came but first I checked my online stuff and tada! Here it is! I immediately and happily downloaded this version!

I am working on a personal project that involves well over 1000 photos. This program has already saved me a LOT of time! It makes it SO EASY to make photo pages out of individual photos. I am using more of the layout templates but I may use a few of the more decorative templates for some of the pages. I do love this program!

That being said though, I do have a bit of a "wish list" for the next version. My wish list would be as follows:

1. A button on the main screen to "save page as" - now you have to go to save and make sure to uncheck pages you have already saved or they will get saved again and if you might have nudged something since saving, well now you will have the nudged version. It tends to want to save the project as an entirety, which is good too, but I would not want to work on a whole big project until done without saving each page along the way. So yes, it can be done, but would be easier if there was a "save page as" button.

2. The above potential button solves this too but I want to mention it as it actually took me a few minutes to realize it - when you want to save a page, or pages for that matter, there is not a dialogue box that asks you for the name you want for it. The default is simply page1, page 2, etc. I finally discovered that you can change a page's name by typing over the default underneath the completed page in the save area. But again, this could be easier with a "save page as" button.

3. The edit bar would be nicer if the default placement was a little higher up. As it stands, it gets in the way of dragging or sizing an individual photo. Yes, I discovered that the bar can be made separate from photo - eventually. It would be just that much nicer though if it was automatically placed just a little bit away from the parameters of the photo. Even a milimeter above would be great, just not ON as it is now.

4. Labels for the buttons, such as the undo button. Okay, maybe I can be a bit unobservant, I freely admit to that! But it would be nice if the undo button (and others) were clearly labeled so us denser folks would be more likely to notice them more quickly. Maybe have a toggle so those who do not like labels could turn off the words but some of us still do tend to see words quicker than symbols.

5. A "back to main project page" button would be VERY useful from the save area. After saving my first page, I hesitated for a bit trying to figure out how to get back to add another page. I didn't want to "exit" as I wanted to keep it within the same project. I wasn't ready to "print".... Finally I took a chance and went for "add photo". Turns out this was the right thing to do but a "back to main project page" or even an "add page" button from the save area would make things less confusing.

If I run across any more as I work on this I will comment again. These little things really are little though in the face of how useful this program really is! Thank you for having this today!

installed fine on my 32 bit vista laptop. I did what I was supposed to - could not registar. Uninstalled and re-installed a couple of times - still could not registar.
I did run the program with it not registarded and was very easy to use - wiped out a collage in seconds flat - problem was there is a watermark accross the bottom of the collage saying the watermark could be removed when registared. Too bad - was easy to use - worked nice with the pictures and all - but useless as I have no keycode to registar program. If I wanted the free trial version woulda done that long ago - I thought this was a full program not a trial...

Many ways to activate or register it on Win 7 64-bit or Vista.
I tried running setup first without running activate.exe, then run activate after closing the program, as admin, then run the shortcut on the desktop as admin again, it gets registered. Both on Vista and WIn 7 64-bit.
I found this trick with earlier version of this.

Good luck and enjoy.

It's interesting that their regular price (as advertised above and on their web site) is $19.95 - but for their 50% off "discount" they have increased the price by 50% - to $29.95 - ONLY for GOTD users ... so the "discount" is only $5.00 (25%).
I've actually bought and paid for a number of Wondershare programs in the past, but this is not just unethical, it's downright dishonest! I've respected their software, but totally disrespect such slimy marketing tactics and B.S.

I'm in no way trying to be ungrateful here because I've been a daily visitor for almost 18 months now. This is a repeat from 2008 & one I hardly used when I had it last time.
Now I'm running Vita Ultimate x64 & find my time better spent learning how to use whats already built in. Unfortunately, I can do almost everything with my OS this offer can do.
#76, Ken. Just a word of caution. 64 bit Vista has some kind of built in registry guard, How? I have no clue but a little more discretion on your part might save you a trip through the recovery console!
