Please try to get the code now!
Also, please note that the registration form can provide only two codes for one IP address, so multiple attempts may result in your IP being blocked and you receiving the message "Multiple gift registration codes are not available for now, thanks for your participation".
You may try to open the registration page in any anonymizer as a possible workaround.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

There are better ways to access a PDF file.
1. Use a program to print the file (e.g. PDF Creator).
2. Use a PDF to Word converter program

As at least one person above has said, your anti-virus program might prevent installaion of Wondershare PDF Password Remover.
I tried several times to launch the installer, but was puzzled when it did not appear. Then I guessed that AVG anti-virus might have classified it as dangerous.
So i used AVG's option to temporarily disable protection for 10 minutes, after which the installer worked without problems. Now I've got my fingers crossed that when it does the next scheduled anti-virus scan AVG doesn't cripple the program.

Hi! I'm a bit confused about what this program can do. I tried working with a file that I had "digitally signed" on an old PC and no longer have that key available as the document was signed on a PC that has since been decommissioned. So I tried running this program to remove the "owner" password security and then opened the program and tried redacting information that I needed to redact from a secured document. The program said the password was removed, but I still could not edit/modify the document. Is this digital signature the same issue as a password that is needed to open the file?
Thanks!
Jennifer

Jennifer, You can not remove a PDF password unless they give you the old password to use this software.
Save | Cancel
Dan, thank you, but I am even more confused by this software now. If the whole idea is to remove a password, why would someone else need to give me a password to remove the claimed "owner" password details that this software is supposed to remove? ^Jennifer

I am an English-Spanish translator. From time to time, clients (companies, government entities, NGOs, other translators) send me texts in PDF format that are password locked and nobody knows the key. To be able to convert those files to Word or process them directly through my CAT tool, I have to have a program like today's GOTD. I will add it to my arsenal and give it a try next time I get a PDF file I can't otherwise process for translation.

Jeff Morrison, How are you going to process PDF if they do not send you the password too. This software is useless with it.

It doesn't work in my W7 64 bit! I want to send my salary sheet to immigration authority but i cannot give my pass to them (it's pass protected file). I need this kind of app to unblock it so they could use it but the app fails. The app asks me to put the pass and i did and the end result is still the same pdf file that's pass protected.
To me this app is a form of advertisement (like landing page in internet marketing) to its other applications.

Since I have some previous experience with this software, I thought I'd take a moment and share some information--information which may help clarify what could otherwise be a cloud of confusion I can anticipate and envision hanging over the discussion of this GOTD. This source of potential confusion is in regard to the question, "exactly what kind of password can this PDF Password Remover actually remove?
PDF files have two kinds of passwords. One is referred to as a "User" password, or file password, and this password is used to completely lock down a file and prevent someone--not in possession of the key--to open it. Actually, the PDF is not merely locked, but the user password is used to derive a key of varying bit strength (depending on what version of the PDF standard the file is adhering to) which is in turn used to fully encrypt the PDF file (the encryption algorithm used depending, again, on the PDF version).
At this point, the file is not just locked, but completely scrambled and unreadable (except, usually, for metadata). There are no "backdoors" and the only practicable approach to gaining entry to the file, assuming you were not the owner or you perhaps forgot your own password, would be to guess the password. This is the so-called "brute force" approach, and its success can range from "dead easy" to practically impossible, depending on the complexity of the underlying password, i.e., bit strength.
The rationale for this little crash course on PDF user passwords, for those who don't know how they work, is simply to set up this next point:
today's give-away from Wondershare does NOT remove these passwords.
I repeat, if you have a PDF file which you cannot open without a password, this program will not attempt to "crack" it. This is an assumption which many people will obviously make-- and it is an assumption, incidentally, which Wondershare does nothing to discourage, or to clarify, except in the most half-hearted, finest print imaginable.
If you do have a password-protected PDF which you need to open (for whatever reason...that's your business) there exist several free programs which will attempt to crack it for you. They can use a dictionary-attack, and there are tweaks to refine the process, but it is a very much hit or miss proposition; again, everything depends on the strength of the password (and to a certain extent, the version of the PDF-standard the file implements).
So then, the question naturally becomes: exactly what password is it that Wondershare PDF Password Remover can remove? To answer this we refer to the second type of PDF password, alluded to in the first paragraph of this post. This password is a "Permissions" password (sometimes called an "Owner" password), and it dictates what you can do with a PDF once it is opened. The "owner" of the PDF--usually the file's author--can effectively say you're allowed to read my file, but not change anything, or, you can read, annotate, and comment, but you are not allowed to print any of its pages. Once these permissions are set, any further changes to the security levels are controlled by toggling this password, and it is this password which the GOTD seeks to remove. The program is normally successful at this, and a further selling point is its ability to batch process up to 200 files at one time (which is how I first became acquainted with the program, due to a particular project I was working on the time). There happens to be a few programs, and a whole slew of free online web services, which will remove security permissions from PDF files, one at a time, but I'm not familiar with any that can remove the restrictions from a whole bunch of files, en masse.
So that's it. This program can be a useful tool, but I wanted to make sure my fellow GOTD users know exactly what this app can--and cannot--accomplish, and to help them avoid any confusion and disappointment. An explanation of the distinctions between the different PDF passwords, particularly as they relate to what this program is designed to accomplish, should be a priority for Wondershare, but unfortunately it does not appear to be a concern for them. Strange, considering I know for a fact that it's a source of confusion for potential customers.
Lastly, one final critique: although I believe that Wondershare does produce a few very good pieces of software (including the GOTD, within its limitations), they engage in the distasteful practice of loading up their product pages with a large amount of obviously fake and phony customer reviews, presumably to manipulate SEO placement given the peculiar and repetitive phrases found in almost all the reviews (and I am referring to the actual "user reviews", not the cherry-picked customer "testimonials"). This does not help build confidence in a company, whatever the merit of their product, and it does their customers--and themselves-- a disservice.

Save | Cancel
Robert Garofalo, I find this tool useful as I can use it to remove the copy and editing limitations that have made to PDF documents. I'm a bit confused why you made such critics as it looks more personal than objective to me.
Save | Cancel
Robert, regarding your final paragraph (the comment about SEO), unfortunately the almighty Google is the main cause of such distortions.
Save | Cancel
Clara,
It doesn't seem like you read my full post (perhaps it was too long). Indeed, I said the program WAS useful, as long as you know what its constraints are (which are significant).
In my opinion, I couldn't possibly be more objective.
Save | Cancel
Tony,
I'm not sure what you mean by "distortions."
Wondershare has phony reviews on their website. Thus the problem lies with Wondershare, not Google.
Save | Cancel
Robert, what I meant was that the whole SEO sub-industry has gotten out of hand, and of all the search engines -- Bing, Yahoo and numerous other lesser players -- Google is the one that is the most closely watched and that has by far the greatest influence on how website content gets redesigned (by sites just like Wondershare's).
For example, just think of all the SEO marketers and website designers who promise that your site will appear on the first page of Google search results.
And whenever Google changes its search algorithms a tsunami of change engulfs the entire SEO world. (I could say more, but will stop there.)
Save | Cancel
I get what you are saying, Tony, and to a large extent what you say is true. Site owners design content now more for search engine manipulation than for actual human readability or usability. For example, you'll often find text passages with the same phrase (or variations of the same phrase) repeated many times, in a form of "keyword-juicing." This is supremely annoying, and there are many, many other examples as I'm sure you already know.
At the end of the day though, a site owner's responsibility is to put out quality content for people, not search engines, so if you have garbage on your site it's your fault, not Google's or Bing's or Yahoo's.
Thanks for clarifying; it's an interesting topic for discussion.

This software comes in handy when you have received a pdf file from some other source and you want to send it to someone else, but you don't want to share the password with the other person.
For example, I receive a lot of statements from companies where I'm a shareholder. Most of the statements are password protected and sent to me by the company. The email usually contains the password, so I can open and read the file.
Now, if there is some dispute, and I need to send the statement to the company's registrars as proof, I would not want to share the password with them. In such instances, today's software is very useful as I can remove the password and then send the file.
Another example is:
I receive all my financial statements from various institutions and all are in pdf with different passwords. Now, if something were to happen to me, my wife would have a tough time opening those statements. So I remove the passwords to make it easy for her.
I hope these two examples have shown the utility of this tool.

Sunil, what you've stated is incorrect, see Robert Garofalo's detailed explanation above. This giveaway does NOT remove the password that would prevent a user from opening the PDF document and reading it.
Wondershare PDF Password Remover only removes the password that enables you to edit the PDF document and changes it's contents and document properties.

What really irritates me is that anti-virus programs tend to view PDF unlocker programs as a "threat" to security. (Translation: They feel the need to protect document DRM.) They then make every effort to stop their installation, or if already installed, delete their program files during a scan.

It is to protect your secure files from hackers gaining access. At work, think corporate secret theft by remote access (Say, Nigeria). install a password decoder and secrets are not secrets.

On a PDF-file there have be a user and also a owner password.
User-password just to read it.
Owner password for all actions.
