Got to the GOTD late and by time decided to install, had 8 minutes left... Took too long to install and missed keycode by 1 minute, so expired. GOTD should put something into their programing that if someone begins to download the program before the expiry, they should be allowed to continue without any issues. Waste of time and may never download fom or visit this site again. VERY DISSAPOINTED!!
..and since late I get a measly 10% off offer, thanks but no thanks..

I tried to install at 11:45 pm Pacific Time. When I went to get the registration, the message at the site is that the promotion is over. I could not get the code. This is quite annoying because I deleted my previous copy of Wondershare Music converter to install this newer one, but now I have only a trial version. Please, Giveaway, tell these guys what time it is in the Pacific zone and ask them to send me a registration code as promised.

A the time of writing this, it seems that Wondershare already disabled the ability to get the keycode from their website.

Their website says:
Sorry, this promotion has been over. But we still offer you 10% off for this product to appreciate your supporting. Please get it by providing your email and name here.

It is too bad Wondershare ended the giveaway before GAOTD ended theirs. The meesage on the website says
"Sorry, this promotion has been over. But we still offer you 10% off for this product to appreciate your supporting. Please get it by providing your email and name here."
So i never got a code.

Software Informer alerts me at the last hour of the give-away... then when I do download, install, and go to 'get key'... Wondershare has closed the offer page... offering a 10% discount instead.

GotD needs to make SURE their vendors synchronize their clock to PACIFIC TIME, USA.

Sorry for the split post, but I just checked http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/ and the website indeed says that the "Active Giveaway time left: 24 minutes".

I am very disappointed not to get this Music Converter after rushing home to install it before the give-avay expired and then to have WonderShare to prematurely stop giving out Key Codes.

What is the deal? It is only 11:26PM and the webpage that opens to provide your email address and receive your Key Code, is stating that "Sorry, this promotion has been over. But we still offer you 10% off..."

I'm not impressed with WonderShare on this one. I rushed home to install it before midnight and then it ends the give-away early. Bad form.

i THINK i WILL PASS on this as I dont really need it and for others, if it alters your audio drivers or soundcard, your asking for problems.
It does sound like it is simply recording the file and you can do that yourself.
I use one called "all sound recorder", which records most stuff played on your computer or also a microphione. it allows you to set the kbps, and also various outputs types.I always use 192kbs mp3.
for those with problems on install, you should check a file before you extract and after , then turn off your antivirus or malware software and allow permission on your firewall or turn it off, do the install and then reactivate all those.

Such difficulties getting rego key that I am now giving up, desite succeeding previously with other Wondershare products. It kept almost crashing my computer - Win XP/3

also noted the intrusion of many streaming drivers which needed to be authorized or otherwise directed in installation.

Both sets of problems combined make it too exasperating to be bothered, despite enjoying Wondershare products in the past.

I seem to recall that last time I had problems getting the rego with a wondershare product here, I was able to go to a special GOTD page they had set up where I could pick up a rego key anyhow. Apparently not this time.

I'd appreciate a more user friendly interface next time, and from the comments here, I can see I'm not the only one.

Thanks anyway.

@4 Mike I had the same problem a while back. I had to close down Anvir Task Manager and SysResources Manager (and possibly others) and ran the setup again.
@52 If you didn't get the software activated on the day of the giveaway it wont activate now. Your only hope is to either buy the software or wait untill it is given away again. Sorry.
It is now 9:20pm Est and the last post I can see on screen is 6:44pm so if you already read similar answers between now and then sorry.

I generally use Danusoft Media Converter Ultimate. Wondershare Media Converter appears to be pretty much a clone of that program. It has most of the same functions. The performance is not quite as good, but it's not bad. Since I purchased the Danusoft software (after Media Converter Pro was offered here) I don't really need this program, but for folks that need something like this, it does what it says it will do.

To #4, Some active malware scanners can hang up some software installations in that way. It seems they don't finish examining the newly created files as quickly as the installation program needs to have sole access to them. This used to be a very common problem with PCTools Threatfire. If you've got malware app running resident, try disabling during the installation.

In the processing settings it says "3 parallel processing is recommended" however the setting is set to 2 and can't be altered. Is this a limitation of the so called "full version" ?? Would be nice to get 4 cores spinning...

Installed fine for me on Windows 7 x64, and I didn't do any shenanigans either. The parallel processing checkbox is disabled, though, even though I have a Core2Duo machine... :-( Still... works great otherwise!

I had no problem downloading/activating. However, when I tried to convert a DRM-protected m4p file all hell broke loose:
- 21 streaming drivers were added
- I had to "authorize" (iTunes)the computer (even though it was, obviously, authorized)
- the conversion did not work ("device error" message)
- all my audio/sound settings/devices were lost and I now have to repair

Did anyone have a similar experience?
Thanks.

#48-Post a temporary email box (check out mailinator.com) for others to send u an answer on & you'll maybe get some answers.
#50-download again and save it to desktop, then when you unzip it, save that also to desktop, & I bet your problem will be solved. I always use desktop, so no problems ever happen.
*
All who have a reg problem- make sure you don't accidently copy-paste a space with your reg key. That's often the cause.
*
Great ap! It works wonders easily. Can't add much more that hasn't been said above. Thanks GOTD & Wondershare! BTW, to my knowledge, Wondershare programs have never tried to change my browser or anything strange. Wondershare is a reputable, respectable company.

Correction: I earlier left a comment saying I couldn't get the keycode for Wondershare Photo Recovery, when what I meant to say was that I am unable to activate it with that code due supposedly to network issues. Therefore I don't need anyone else's code, just any way to get through to their server and register it so as to unlock the software and use it. Seems like every time some software company tries to be cute and come up with their own activiation method instead of using GAOTD's tried and true "wrapper" that's when we get problems like this one. I don't know if I even want to try today's software as a result of the bad experience I had and am having with that previous offering. Oh, well, another day another "opportunity" to paraphrase an old saying.

Joe T, I found what you wrote to be very helpful. I was converting one at a time audio book files but it was very time consuming. Then I changed it to multiple and am now doing 3 at a time. Since this is a time consuming process, that is really helpful. Thanks for your information and help.

With TK #7's thought in mind, does anyone have the keycode they got for that photo recovery software so I can try and see if it activates mine? I don't need to download it again, just to be able to use it. I appreciate anybody's help on this and will gladly return the favor.

I too had problems getting it working in win7 64, with the registration dialog not working properly -- clicking evaluate, buy etc didn't do anything, & the window closed in too brief a time to copy/paste key & email. I'll try later in XP Pro.

That said, it appears to include a Windows driver, which should help out those folks with a PC/laptop that won't let them record audio sent to the speakers. And record is what it looks like Wondershare Music Converter does... rather than save the original data stream or file, minus DRM, you record the playback. As with video, re-recording rather than saving the original works best when you're shrinking the file size, & you already expect reduced quality. Of course if your audio file comes with DRM you may not have a choice. How much quality you lose, or how much noise you'll add depends on your hardware -- there's quite a bit of electronics "noise" inside the case of a PC/laptop, as well as in the USB circuitry if you use external gear that connects that way... some soundcards or on-board sound chips insulate your recording from that noise more than others.

Today's GOTD version of Wondershare Music Converter is different than the trial download, though I can't tell yet how they're different -- perhaps it just adds an advert? Despite my problems this am, it does appear to be written to work in 64 bit Windows. There's always a chance when adding an audio driver that it'll mess something else up, & for anyone that does have problems, it should be easy enough to remove just the driver, assuming you don't need it. [For all I know that may be the cause of my problem -- I'll have to see what I come up with in XP where I can fully monitor the install.]

Far as alternatives go, as far back as I can remember it's always been possible in Windows to just open a couple of apps, a player & an audio recorder, recording audio playback the same way you're record a TV show with a VCR or nowadays, a DVR. There are more than a few free-ware &/or open source audio format converters [Google &/or check videohelp.com -- foobar & bonk are popular]. You can find a few, actual DRM removal apps (not recorders) on-line. Free apps *just* like Wondershare Music Converter are a bit rare. Many apps &/or methods for removing DRM specialize on just one type or format of audio -- if you Google include the type of file you want/need to work with.

Not to be a party pooper and by no means am I telling people to not download anything, but the product has me questioning the legality of its purpose and function. I would think it would be illegal to share the music with others as the material is generally commercial music if it's DRM'd or protected in some other way. Mind you, even if it's not DRM'd, if it's commercial (ie, not free) then to share it is illegal.

As I said, I'm not telling anyone to not download this or whatever else, just pointing it out, nothing more.

This seems to be really slow when remove a DRM. I am wondering if it is actually recording the sound and saving it to another type of file? If so maybe, it is converting in real time?

This converter does whats it says and the drm removal is excellent. I wonder what drivers it installs on the computer? Never had any converters install driver before. Installed and activated without problems on Vista 32. My ISP offers me unlimited free wma music downloads that are DRM protected so i could not send them to my devises but now i have this program that removes the DRM i have no problems converting and copying to my mp3 player.

Re Comment No 4. I also experienced the “the file is being used by another service” message. I tracked it down to the Adaware program which I have running on my system. I found that if I stopped it running, I could then install GOTD software normally. I wonder if you have Adaware or a similar program running on your computer.
