This comment section is not for people to beg for specific programs. It is for commenting on the program being offered. If you people want to make requests, I understand there is a forum for such things. I read the comments to find out what other people think about the software after they have tried it out; not to see people begging for something else.
Now rate me down, since this isn't helpful in the least. I don't feel the need to suggest things for GAOTD to offer. I think they are doing a fine job. Thank you GAOTD.

I tried going to that super page but I can't get the stupid thing to download. HELP ME! I've been looking for a video converter for a long time.

Why whine over another converter? Who cares if it's another screensaver? Nothing is for free, except on GOAD! Who else offers a free program daily for us to check out? Well said #46,47, and 48! I love this site!

Well you must have got a different converter then...its the Moyea *FLV-to-Video* Converter & also they have the FLV downloader. You don't have to convert the FLV to SWF first lol

For whatever reason this software will not recognize my FLV files. It will identify Flash files and folders but they will not load for conversion. Drag and Drop might have helped but after several tries the program is not working for me and have uninstalled.

Activated OK. Installed OK. When exploring it can't see swf files. I even tried opening swf files onmy hard drive using the context menu open with feature.

This program just plain doesn't work. I tried Super listed by a previous poster and that program actually rocks.

These people who dislike the software, what would you desire for? Whatever is available is available, what not available is not available, siple math. Obstain me from this yes or no judgement.

sk (#41) - "Flash" here refers to Adobe Flash animations/games (SWF, not FLV). Chances are you already have it installed and can play said animations and games (and movies, if you go to sites like Youtube).

Jonathan Franzone (#46), Yvonne (#47), Nastajia (#48) - Rather than counter-complaining with more whining, how about helping out and giving some suggestions for new software too? If those software titles come here, you'll see less complainers. GotD isn't a team of mind readers, so regardless of whether or not you like the site I'm sure they'd love to know about other companies they can contact for great software titles. Work together.

What was the name of the tool you mentioned? That's important to seeing it here, you know ;>
As for monitoring tools, you might want Process Explorer, FileMon, and RegMon from SysInternals. You might also be interested in Wireshark.

Actually, if you close ALL programs, it's pretty safe to delete everything in %temp% :>
There's usually not that much in there, though, esp. if you have a lot of storage space...

To get video back in sync with audio, I suggest VirtualDub. You would, however, have to do it yourself (and you might have to convert using MediaCoder first).

Normally, I'd link all the programs I'm talking about, but I'm feeling lazy. Google will find those very easily anyway.

WELL!!!!! Has it ever occured to all the "not another converter neysayers" that a lot of us that visit this site have never before had the opportunity to download such software. If giveawayoftheday wish to put up repeats or similar programs then i am all for it as this was the "READ" first time this software has been made available to myself and many others! "Which means more exposure for the authors of the software which is the genral idea is it not"
This site is not custom tailored for the exclusive use by those that have been here since day one!
So get real and stop being such liddew babies, a great many of us have not seen this software before.
This site will continue to grow and for the people that have just found it....it is a good thing that reruns or similar are put up so they too can try the software. If GOTD put up more reruns or similar programs then so be it.
So grow up you babies "aka long termers that keep whining" we have as much right as the next person to have access to programs that have already been up in the past "when we were not yet aware of the site."
Anyway as for the program i like it, it is a nice giveaway and recieves a 7 out of 10 from me.

@ the complainers. Stop complaining about what is offered. Take what you can get and if you don't like it move on. If there is some kind of software that you guys want, why not try to get it yourself. There are plenty of freeware alternatives for all kinds of things. Oddly, I actually needed this program today :)

I needed to convert a swf to mp3 since I didn't have a player embed code, I needed the audio back out. (I guess I could have edited a page I had, but seemed much quicker this way :)

Other than the annoying sample auto-playing in every screen it worked like a charm, and quickly too.

I haven't tried any video conversions yet and actually probably won't need this program for that purpose anyway.

But I do like it very much for the swf to mp3 ability!

I give it a 10 out of 10 (Once I figured how to keep the sample from playing - ha ha) for the swf to mp3 conversion feature. Like I said, I haven't used its other features so I can't rate that as of yet.

@19 Read the posts above yours. Super converts to all kinds of formats.
By the way having a single program decrypt, rip and burn dvds is illegal. The decryption is required for nearly all commercial DVDs. However, I do believe GAOTD has posted software to do all of the pieces.

Thanks GAOTD. I don't do any file converting, but I appreciate your efforts to find new software and then convince the companies to let GAOTD give them away. This can't be the easiest job in the world.

Also, you might like to know I bought a program you offered a few months ago when a sudden need arose. So, the companies actually do get sales from their participation in GAOTD.

Each time I run the program and when I try to convert I get this message: "Failed to set data for 'Data'". Plus I get requested an activation key... I supposed this was offered for free. I'll try to download from the mirror link.

Hi! I've been a regular visitor of GAOTD for at least 6 months, but this is the first time i'm posting a comment. The Flash to video converter is a wonderful piece of software, but there are Freeware alternatives out there that do the same job (example:"SUPER").
I hope GAOTD could once again give that Powerpoint to video software it gave some time ago, unfortunately i lost it when my computer went bonkers and i had to do a reinstall of the OS.
And Could anyone suggest a Freeware DVD authoring software where i can make Menu Systems and directly burn on to a DVD.

RE #5 How long does it take to check the site, see if you want the software and then go somewhere else if it is something of no interest (I even check out the screensavers in case they offer something unique, like a flight simulator I saw once, just couldn't use my mouse). So why cut of your nose to spite your face? One day there will be the software you want - but you won't check incase it is a video convertor. I see the game of the day has disappeared.

What I want to see is a small app that can convert screensavers to a tetris game in Flash so I can convert it to an avi that I can password protect and remember it with something like keepass.

Actually, since you can't please all the people all the time, how the heck does GOTD know what to put up at all ?
Since they're free, mostly, nothing says you have to download any of them. Besides, If you were to install every daily offer, you'd have like 365 programs each year, of which 100 would be screensavers, 100 would be converters, and 165 would be cheezy games.

Every once in awhile, there is something worth trying, though. That's what keeps me visiting daily.

#16 makes a good point, instead of complaining about repeats or screensavers, let's actively support this nice site by letting them know, what we would like to see.

I stumbled over a nice little tool that shows you on maps, which way your IP packets go around the world, I would like that, or I would like some monitoring tool, that gives me an idea what is going on, when the systems seems terribly busy, but taskmanager shows not what it is doing, or how about a tool that helps cleaning my harddrives from old temps no longer needed (I do not dare just to delete all temp- and log-files).

Very helpful would be a program to get video and audio back into synch, even if I would have to do a bit of the work myself.

I am sure this community has plenty more ideas (I just love to read the comments every day).

I'm passing on this converter for reasons well explained by H.J. #15 above.
But I, for one, still seek out various types of file converters, looking for better and better performance. But I don't want to be duped into being a Beta tester for some of these programs. I look for, and appreciate, thoughtful comments to help me determine what I might be in for.

Here's a thought. Instead of remarking about how GOTD keeps giving out, basically, the same or similar programs, how about posting the software that would be most desirable to YOU. In other words, should enough people comment on a particular item in a specific category that would please them in aquiring for free, perhaps, GOTD may see a clear pattern developing and consequently, possibly, be more agressive in obtaining a said item or a similar product in a particular category as their giveaway. Make your voices heard people. But me more specific about a category of licensed software you'd like downloaded as freeware, so that essentially, they have a better idea as to what to give away. Just a thought. And remember, ask not what GOTD can do for you, but rather, ask what you can do for GOTD (to better their Web site and to raise their users' satisfaction level)! Or words to that effect :)
