it installed very easily for me and I pasted the serial number in (went to about dropdown) and it looks good to go. Thanks So Much GOTD. Sorry about all the complainers that complain even though it is free. Then they complain that the regular program with support is half price. I would think that is is Half off! It records the video, but only a buzz for audio (also the counter doesn't move off of zero when recording). Any fix?

After converting a video it says

I downloaded and used the program to download a YouTube video and after the download, it said I was using a trial version. The program when I go to the key icon says it is registered. Which is correct?

MJ, I had this issue too, but there was no place to paste the key in from the readme file. The Key icon indicates "Registered" like Grahair, but it's disabled (clicking does nothing). The Purchase Icon is disabled as well. It also indicates Registered under "About" in the menu, so I'm unable to find anyplace to enter in the key.
Can you elaborate on where to paste in the key?

The registration is done automatically, no need to copy and paste the license number. This converter seems very good with lots of formats and a good presentation. Plus a downloader, a screen recorder and a bunch of other interesting tools. Personally my favorite is WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe which is regularly offered here. But I will definitely keep this one. Thanks GAOTD.

Franky, The first time that you open the program after initial installation, a menu pops up to paste in the registration code from the readme file of the original download. If you do this program will register properly. I do agree with you that's the win X HD converter is there a pretty decent program.

If so, I'd call that a problem. I'm in agreement that WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe (which I almost certainly got here, from a previous promo) has proven to be pretty reliable. It is no speed demon in processing a file either -- even with a good i5 or i7 CPU and plenty of RAM -- but I have with some regularity used it to convert HEVC / x265 back into standard MP4 that will play on a lot of older devices. This would often quadruple the output file size, but the usability trade-off was worth it. If _this_ edition of Wonderfox does not handle the later, high-compression codecs, I might as well stick with other conversion apps that will.

Gene, WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe has one major disadvantage, external subtitles that the program can embed, are only white with very little shade behind the letters.

It does a reasonable job and has presets and customisation for most conversions.
Despite supporting Intel Quicksync it does still take up 97% of the CPU when in use.
Whilst not dog slow, like so many offerings, it's performance is still nothing to write home about.
It is however a crippled version as H265 is not available and immediately finishes when you try to run. This is not mentioned in the blurb, which is poor.
