Ok - I finally got it to download but couldn’t install. Scary turning off antivirus but did that and was able to install. Whew! Thanks GOTD!

I read that it would install over a previous version but I only get a message that the product is "activated" without actually installing the newer version of the program. I read the Read Me and turned off Avast before installing. I also tried uninstalling the old Wise Care and installing from a system restore but received the same message that it is "activated" but this time there was no Wise Care program. I have seen this a few times with GOATD programs where it is activated but not installed.

In looking at reviews WC is considered OK, but limited in features compare to other system suites that are available. Free is free though. If you want to spend some money check our the top ten reviews at https://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2371155,00.asp . System Mechanic is rated #1 (what I use) and can be had for $14.98 right now.

Thank you, GAOTD.
I have used this in the past (from GAOTD) and other Wise products for years with no problems. This installed easily (other than having to bypass the converter program that wants to change my browser openings-not Wise's fault) and runs fine. it does not hog resources on my computer. It has always seemed effective and never caused trouble. I do not always let it erase all the files it wants too, although it is probably right and I am probably wrong!

Could not install on Windows 10 64-bit system. Got "Installation files are corrupted." Downloaded and unzipped file again - got same message. Would like to try this program, but I can't.

I've used this product for years with no issue but this time like the last, I cannot get the gcd file to open for key to be able to register this newest download. Running Win 10 browser Microsoft Edge. I've tried adobe, note pad, word pad I'm just out of options.

Very disappointed as this happened the last the lifetime license was issued and Give Away of the Day not Wise would answer my inquiry so I've now been almost 2 years with the free version.

Just feel like I'm being ripped off.

Did a system snapshot before install. After install the system was up to something that it was not doing before wise care was installed because the fan on the computer was running much more (after installed wise care) when on low or idle tasks, much more fan operation after installed wise care showing increased activity in the background so uninstalled (rolled back) and back to my silent running machine.

Use this type of application wisely. Maybe you can live without tweaking tools, if you know, Windows will give you enough. I'm using Advanced System Care, Glary Utilities and for some things which is offer, I like Wise Care too. But be wise when you make changes...

I am impressed. It would be helpful to have a screen note on whether the entries which are not safe to remove from the registry after a scan are in fact skipped when the clean command is given. I assume that is so, and that the symbol in the left margin indicates that, but I would rather know for sure.

The system analysis utility wrongly reported video card memory as 2mb when it is 2gb.

It installed fine on my Win 10 x64 computer. I have found that it resets the default for file explorer from xplorer squared by Zabkat, to MS file explorer. I tried it twice, with the same result. On the other hand, a jpeg opened with my selected program, Fast Picture Viewer. RAW and Tiff files are asking which program I want to open, confirming that they have removed their preferences.

I did contact wise to ask if there is a way to preserve my changed defaults. I'll update or add comments when I get a reply.

Hi David Navratil. :-)

You can generate a portable version in menu, settings, general, "make portable version".
Not sure if it will get the license key with it.
In wisecleaner website, you can download directly wise care 365 free portable version (download section).

Reply   |   Comment by xilolee  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

It's not portable; the program stores its settings in the Windows registry.

I am using Advanced System Care but the only part of it I use is the Resource Monitor to clean RAM. Does this program have anything like that? ASC seems to have so many files associated with it and they all come up as malware/PUP when I run Malwarebytes.

Reply   |   Comment by Teresa  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Hi Teresa!

I have both of them installed, ASC y very good for "regular" (Daily?) "housekeeping"; as WS is "thoroughly" effective I use it on my "monthly maintenance runs".

On your question, under the "Utilities" area, there is a "Memory Optimizer" you can activate it and configure it per your requirements.

Best regards,

Reply   |   Comment by Rilorence  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+4)

Teresa, I have used ASC for years without any problems at all. As for Malwarebytes they have a beef with ASC. Interestingly enough I really had bad luck with Malwarebytes which required reinstalling Windows to fix.

Reply   |   Comment by Rick Martin  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (0)

Hi Teresa. :-)

You don't even need wise care 365 for that.
Wise Memory optimizer is downloadable for free, and there is also a portable version of it.
Anyway, it is present as a module in wise care 365: if you leave it always on, it will "free your RAM".
You can set the percentage when it should start.

Malwarebytes flags as PUPs almost every programs o these software houses: IOBIT, wisecleaner, auslogics, and many more.

Hi, this latest Wise Care 365 V4.76 has a lot to offer and since last Giveaway here in Jul. 06, 2017 - there were 7 updates already, they can be found here: http://www.wisecleaner.com/blog_sort_8_1.html

As it happens I had 3 earlier Installations on my PC (all 'Pro' via GOTD), but only the earliest one (Wise Care 365 V3.86 installed on Drive C:) stayed intact, the other 2 installed in private Folder on External hard Drive, became automatically updated to Today's version, as Installer on this occasion found them in that last location (gave no choice where to install) and replaced with V4.76.. When that happens - one cannot compare in earnest (and approve, or miss) certain Tools added or indeed dropped later..

Well, my W.C 365 V3.86 has for instance Tool called 'Folder & File Hider' and 'Assistance' button on top bar, both missing in Today's version, but no 'System Protection' function yet, still.. worth keeping both??

As to Today's Installation, something else I noticed when browsing the Features: 'System Tuneup' has already 9 Optimized positions that must have been done without user's choice (they are coloured green) and 25 further positions that can be selected (with 'Unoptimized' in red next to them)..
Have to decide later what to do with all pre-selected (and executed!) options, so good practice is to examine carefully ALL options to avoid surprises!? But, all in all - Wise Care 365 is a clever piece of Software worth keeping! Thanks.

Good download speed, easy installation on Windows 10 (64 bit). I had recently uninstalled some software but it left traces that couldn't be removed for some reason. Wise Care detected these leftovers and removed them with ease. Nice clean GUI. Many thanks to GOTD and Wise Care for today's giveaway. Merry Christmas!

This program does not instal at all. After appearing to start it opens a webpage which says "Wise Care 365 4.7.6 Pro activated — what next?" and that is it. Yes, the three files are unzipped and in ONE directory. Clearly either something wrong with Win10 or the installer for this app

Reply   |   Comment by Konrad  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (-6)

Correction: it installed after killing the antivirus program. But that is BAD practice and not legitimate program or wrapper should make such a demand.

Reply   |   Comment by Konrad  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+17)

Konrad, This type of program with its ability to modify all of the most important elements of your computer will often be stopped by your AV. That's a good thing. After you install and restart your AV you are good to go -- they are not out to bust your security, it's the nature of the program. So many gaotd users freak out over this when the AV is just doing its job. I have used gaotd for decades -- never have experienced or heard of anyone else having experienced any sort of malware, viruses, etc. Nothing. Gaotd wouldn't be in business if they spewed out junk. Think about it. That, and Peace, and Merry Christmas.

Reply   |   Comment by beans  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

Hi guys. :-)

Some software in GAOTD allow to download/install the main program from their main websites, then you can use the license key in gaotd readme.txt to activate them.
When a license key is not available, you should set up your antivirus whitelist to allow gaotd setup.exe and setup.gcd, or you should find the correct option to let your antivirus do its work.
Unfortunately, sometimes is necessary to disable it (or to use windows safe mode).

When in doubt, use virustotal, metadefender, jotti, virscan, and other tools (mbam, sas, et cetera).

I've used Wise Care 365 for years now. This and CCleaner are the only ones I do use. Others I've used from GOTD aren't as good and will only bash them when they come up for offer. Wise Care gives you the choice over what control you want it to have or not have. All of it is in the settings. It also knows what not to mess with. In all the years of using it, it's never done anything to my OS I had to regret and go back to fix. Also, has lots of goodies you can download free to go with it. One I use is Jet search. It's 10 times faster than Windows search. Give it a try, it's worth downloading. Thanks again to Wise Cleaner and GOTD!

Have used it successfully since last time it was a givaway, Only beware of Wise Driver which updates your drivers and at the same time when you reboot you will find that without your permission it has messed up your desktop and you have to sort it all out again your way.
But it is neat, easy to download, instal (one L in English as opposed to American) and use. I cannot tell if it does anything useful or not but it to all appearances certainly does no harm. It does speed up boot time at least.
Recommended.

Reply   |   Comment by Laxative  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+11)

Whoa, not so fast, smart aleck! In English the verb is, as in American, install - two LLs.

It is only in certain inflections that you drop one L in English. For instance: instalment. (A'k installment). But installation, installed, etc. in both languages.

(Cf, the verbs instil (BrE) / instill (UsE) and fulfil (BrE) / fulfill (UsE) )

Reply   |   Comment by benasp  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+3)

benasp, Don't be critical of folks who bring up the UK english ..yes there is a British spelling and it is in fact instal with 1 l. It is even defined as such in Merriam-Webster dictionary https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/instal . It is not used much, but does exist.

Wise Care offers a good all-in-one system maintenance solution. There is also a free version where apparently only 3 options have been dropped: privacy eraser, big files manager and context menu. The program lets you free to delete what you want, except for the first PC Checkup, where you can only select "fix it". I never use this dangerous option. All other options are safe and never caused problems after one year of use (Wise Care 365 - 4.7.5 free version).

Hi Sean. :-)

Wise Care 365 PRO has got these additional features (over the free version):
- pc checkup: system protection
- system cleaner: big files manager
- system tuneup - startup manager: speedup (advices about services)
- system tuneup: context menu (Handling/managing)
- privacy protector: privacy eraser
- themes: some themes are available only with pro
- automatic program updating
- premium tech support
(I could have forgot something)

I forgot "first PC Checkup, where you can only select "fix it". I never use this dangerous option.".

You can select the items to be checked during PC CHECKUP in menu, settings, custom checkup.
As an example, if you don't want to scan registry entries, you can deselect all the registry options.

Reply   |   Comment by xilolee  –  6 years ago  –  Did you find this comment useful? yes | no (+2)

xilolee, You' re right, but you can only ignore some groups of problems, f.e. "memory dump files" or "system log files" under "useless files", but you can' t select which dump files, or which log files. Same thing for other groups, like privacy risks. Fortunately, in the system cleaner, you can do what you want.
