For a long time but with little success I have been looking for a video converter as good as this one.
Very many thankyou's to GAOD. It does all that I have so far asked of it with no refusals.
For me with my basic needs this is the best so far.

works well as a converter but as it lack CUDA, it is slow and too demanding on the system therefore it is useless for me.

I use it for several months with excellent results. XPsp3, netbook Atom N280 1.66GH.

What is important for ordinary user (not overclocker) with simple netbook:

1) I can select between fast conversion and slower but highest quality conversion

2) I can see original size and bitrate in this program to select proper conversion factors. Many other converters are blind and I have to use other soft to check original file

3) This is the only program I see for several years which lets me drag the window by clicking to any part of the window, not just top strip. It is very important when you have 1024x600 screen. Many other programs are useless with such netbook screen because they have stupid non-scalable large window and part of buttons are out of reach forever.

What else. Digiarty arrange giveaways very often on their site. And they give real valuable soft. Not specially crippled "GOTD", "standard", etc. editions.

I couldn't get the activation code to work. But the Digarty website was running a free offer on the software. I downloaded it and installed it. Then the code worked.
Win 7-64 seems to run fine. Ripping Thunder Road now and looks like it will take about 25 minutes. Good enuf for me.

Off topic re. today's Giveaway, but a few people were asking about WinX DVD Ripper Platinum, and not being able to access the page with the free code that Digitary was offering. DotTech.org is offering it as a freebie, but today is the last day, so visit this link for details.
http://dottech.org/freebies/windows-freebies/31199/free-winx-dvd-ripper-platinum-ends-may-20
Hope that helps. And thanks Digitary and GOTD for today's Giveaway.

Vista HP, with SP 2.
Installed yesterday and it immediately gave me a bsod. After restarting everything seemed fine but today I got 3 blue screens again. I uninstalled it with Comodo Program Manager, did a restart but after about 15 minutes there's the fbsod again.

Would like to have tried this software, but all the extra gumpf (toolbar, Livid download manager) is just rather annoying, so uninstalled and deleted. I would rather wait an extra 10 minutes and wait for my current software to do a perfectly good job. Thanks anyway

Installed ok on Vista Ultimate 64 bit after the intial problem several others had in finding the correct registration code. Unfortunately I have the same problem that several others have reported that the program closes as soon as a video file is added.
Pity as I have found previous WinX programs to be excellent

On 64 bits systems:

Before adding any file ,go to "Options-Audio language-Output folder" and change it to the proper location.

I'm not sure what is going on. Install went fine. When I figured out what url to go to, I was able to get an activation code.
I just tried two separate *.mpg files I "jailbroke" from *.tivo files. The software is cutting of 4-10 minutes of each movie???
What goo would this be to use in authoring a DVD? You output all the content a folder, and then author the DVD, for personal use, and the end of the movie is missing??
I verified the length of the movies in two separate programs, both as a *.tivo file and as a *,mpg file.

This program is sure worthless for any use I would have for it. Back to my other GAOTD programs!

Uninstalled.

Forgot to mention that I'm having the same problems as #s 31, 46, 49, 57, 60, 80, and 85: the video closes immediately upon trying to add a file. The other 6 or 7 file converters I've tried have worked fine, including, Aiseesoft Total Media Converter, Format Factory, and Media Coder, which I used recently. (I'm using Vista Home Premium.)

I'm another one with the same problem. Program closes whenever I try to convert a file. Running Windows 7 x64. Shame, it looks like it could be a useful program.

#31, #46, #49 please check your PC. The program works here just fine with Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. I tried converting 4 different inputs containers (AVI, MP4, WMV and FLV). 3 different codecs were used.

Not sure about all but, atleast 2 or more of those who posted having the same issue as I with the app closing is running x64bit operating systems. I would suspect that to be the issue. Since Digitary refuses to post anything I guess we will never know.

I really do not understand the logic behind those who give thumbs down to post that do nothing more than simply state the program crashes. It reminds me of the kids who play on Yahoo answers. So, to those kids I ask, what is a person suppose to say when the software doesn't work? Should they praise it? I think GOTD would fair better if the thumbs system were done away with. Then those who read the user review would get a much more accurate account of the offered software.

Sorry to say that this is another converter which cannot proceed a smooth conversion from 29,97fps (NTSC) to 25fps (PAL) format. The original mp4 file can be seen on the computer with a smooth panning shot. The converted file jitters too much (due to the dropped frames). Is there any converter which performs an adjustment e.g. by calculating new frames?

I also have Win 7 x64 and the program simply closes (crashes) when I try to add any file. Looking back over the comments, x64 seems to be the common thread.

Uninstalled. :(

Ah...they advertise .rmvb. can it convert TO, or just FROM? Last GOTD converter (Ann) was fast, but didn't seem to be able to generate more than 10 fps, even from 30 fps sources. If I can get it to do that, with a file size less than the .avi source, it'd be my main soft.

WAKE UP! It's 2012 and this may be the only full featured converter that doesn't use AMD App/Stream or hardware co processing.

Sorry Digarty but this is in the genre of antique conversion software that can be found for free. Real converters that charge for software support hardware acceleration. This is just recycled 2008 conversion software.

Except it's not 2008. I use a converter all the time. It was a GOTD offer. It takes 1/4 the time to convert a file than this. Let's try not to go back to the horse and buggy days. But thanks nonetheless.

Now to go for a ride in my horseless carriage?

Tried several other files (different formats)and the same thing. Uninstalled then re-installed. Same thing. Program closes immediately after loading a video file. Strange!

I did some test conversions between WMV and MPEG and it worked flawlessly. I used the defaults provided. It allows multiple files to to be entered in the add files screen and this will save me a lot of time compared to converting one file at a time. Easy to use; Very intuitive.

Two enhancements I would like to see. Allow variable sizing and/or maximizing of the main screen. After that, allow re-sizing of the columns: Clip Name, Clip Information, etc. I use dual monitors so consider accommodating them since I use long file names.

45 minutes to download 1 song from youtube.

Installation and registration were no problem.
In general this program works very fast giving me almost 500 frames/second. This is about 4 times as fast as Format Factory 2.95. The output quality was the same as with other converters. I compared these results with the same source file.
@Digiarty - is it on purpose that not all cores are used? I noticed that using 2 cores gives the same result as using 6 cores.

Installed without a hitch, nice options, definitely a thumbs up. I do think I will spend some time over the summer evaluating all the different converters I have, including several from GAOTD and see which fills my fairly simple needs the best, but this definitely does what I expected, and does it well.

Downloaded and installed on Windows 7. Smooth and easy. More importantly,(to me) just bought an Asus External DVD-RW (great deal at Frys, btw, $33 with $15 rebate) and needed a good ripper. Have used Win-X DVD ripper before but not on this PC. Thank you #12. My experience with Digarty software has been good enough that I may go for the $19.95 offer for lifetime updates. Thanks again GAOTD and Digarty.

Downloaded, installed and registed just fine. However, FWIW, I also installed ripper platinum which wasn't so fine. I set about to rip the main title - 2 hr and 4 min - It started doing so, but quit as though it were complete after only 31 minutes had been ripped. No error message or anything.???? I've used other GAOTD rippers without problem.

Great converter, the best i tried so far, even better than Format Factory, XMedia Recode or Freemake. Tried to make a big Avi file in a smaller one by reducing the bit/s, result was much faster and better than the others. Croping is very easy too...
Thanks !

Using Vista, I tried downloading multiple videos from a couple different sites. With Vimeo, it gave me the message: "Unable to obtain video URL" (even after I left the site as Carolyn suggested). With YouTube, the program doesn't accept the address from the "share" box: "The video link is not supported". Finally with both YouTube and DailyMotion, when I copied and pasted the address from the address bar, WinX HD crashed:
