Most athletes, especially basketball players, at some time or another wonder how they can jump higher. Both rebounding and slam dunking require you to jump high unless you are very tall.

There are exercises and techniques to strengthen your legs and increase vertical jumping quite a bit. You can add several inches or even feet to your jumping with the right training.

My previous post has been awaiting moderation for over 2 hours!!! I probably won't have a chance to get help from anyone because of this. It was still 4 hours before the end of the giveaway when I posted to get help to solve the issues I have with this download.

So I will probably loose this download because of time taking for moderation. That shouldn't be!

In case, it gets posted and answered in time...

At the end of the install, there's "Run Winter 3D Screensaver" already checked, so I click on Finish. The Screen Saver Settings opens, I can see the 3D screensaver there. I can even Preview it. After "Apply & OK" the SS Settings closes and...nothing.

If I click on Personalize - Screensaver, when the SS Settings reopens, there's no trace of Winter 3D there. Go figure???

Hopefully this clarifies what I was trying to explain in my previous post and hopefully moderation will do it's job and hopefully it will be posted soon enough for someone to read it and hopefully someone will have time to reply and hopefully this will all be done within the next 1½ or so before the end of the giveaway.

Praying and keeping my fingers crossed. Big thanks to the person who will take the time to reply and give a solution to this problem.

#15 - ebax Thanks for replying. I unzip and install in Program Files x86 to a GOTD folder. The shortcut is sent to the desktop without asking me. By upload, I meant "run" the program or in this case the screensaver. I've never had this problem with any other software. It's still not working at this time.

I downloaded this screensaver here at GAOTD 4 or 5 years ago. Still have it, and it is good. A keeper obviously. Please lighten up on the screensaver criticisms. :-) It is pretty good actually. Gets you in the snowy Christmas mood. Anyhow, just get it. It is fun! Like a few others on here, I think it would be nice if it had people, animals, animation, anything to liven it up a wee tad. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

CAUTION & ATTENTION* I respect Systweak.com and A.S.O. Advanced System Optimizer More than just about any software I am glad I trialpayed to get. About 3 minutes ago System Protector module through A.S.O. v3+ did a scan, well it returned this:
yesterday's software: "PhotoUpz.exe" was infected w/ *malware.generic" virus, and thus it's now disabled and furthermore deleted, therefore I take fair warning as to ANY software's i will ever download from here again. It's no false positive + its definitely Mal-ware to some degree, here's more on it...

this link shows the exact *malware.generic" malware, just a different file containing it...

http://www.spy-emergency.com/research/tag/malwaregeneric

Basically it's a potentially unwanted software, which leads me to believe it's another crapware without a doubt to be categorized malware... soon to be abandoned-ware I am sure, nonetheless that sucks because it was quite a useful software, oh well InPaint is A-OK no malware I'll use it, or PSP 13... Thanks but no thanks GAOTD...

There are settings, which allow you to turn off the music, and stop the program from terminating by moving the mouse, if you so desire.
I found these by right clicking the mouse, on the icon on the desktop
and selecting configure.
This is on Windows XP.

Personally I like screen savers for the novelty/diversion but don't use them that much, usually they work or they don't. prefering to toggle them on and off as needed, now on W7 x64 both my systems slight variation, the auto start always seems to de-activate, that's OK by me but the shortcut links are turning up as invalid on cleaners like CC and Amigo, they got removed and only run now from screen settings or screensaver manager, found this quirky but I rarely got this on XP SP3. Odd ??

I don't understand what all the baroo-ha-ha is about. Do you NEED a screensaver..? No. However, I enjoy looking at them, especially the winter ones. Sure, the animation and drawing of images could be a LOT better, lots more life-like. However, even with that said, these are fun programs that can place you right in the middle of a snow storm, or an autumn rain.

As far as the malware readings, I tend to think they are false positives. I've had several AG screen savers since 2009, never a positive reading. Right now I run Win 7 64x.

Get 'em and enjoy 'em. After all, they're free today.

The music worked fine for me the first time using the screensaver, after that the music did not work. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and got the same results. Overall, I like the screensaver. Using Windows 7 32 bit (not sure if that matters).

Installed on Win7 Home with no problems at all. I have to say this is one of the nicest screensavers I've seen in a long time. Nice scenes and pleasant music. I usually don't use screensavers but I'm going to use this one for a while. Thanks for making this one available to us. Thanks GOTD & Astro Gemini.

Very Nice, calm, peaceful, simple. Love the snow movement and very nice resolution.
Can use it anytime someone wants a winter scenery and not just for Christmas which is nice. Just a Christmas scene gets used just a few times and put away.
Reminds me, I should go out and build that snowman about now!

Sorry you have trouble with the music, but many of us use screensavers while listening to something else like Spotify etc., especially on laptops. So IMHO. a silent screensaver is preferable EXCEPT when you can only get it to work that way by accident or glitch.

#17: "... however, Spyware Terminator 2012 (Free) removed a file from it during installation and it STILL works which means it was an unnecessary file that was removed..."

FWIW there are 2 files headed for the system folder, the screensaver itself & a htm file [with a link to purchase it]. The program folder holds 8 items -- 2 files for uninstall, 3 web shortcuts, license.txt, an icon, & a readme.html file. Shortcuts are added to the All Users Start Menu plus the desktop.

Out of all that the only thing you really need in the screensaver file itself, so yes there are unnecessary items. The files referenced by/in your posted image were on the desktop, likely the 2 shortcuts just mentioned, though where the listed "Magic Forest 3D..." comes from I have no idea -- nothing like that included in today's GOTD.

* * *

#24: "... Don’t complain of a slow computer if you add screensavers like this, LOL."

Should be totally irrelevant... running software uses some of your PC's/laptop's resources, & since those are finite, if you're already using up all those resources & start another app, it'll likely be slow going. Screensavers OTOH are *intended* to run when your PC/laptop isn't doing anything -- that way they can't effect anything else. That said, it is up to the user to turn any screensavers off, & as necessary turn off sleep/hibernation when you have something resource intensive running more-or-less in the background, e.g. video rendering, virus scans etc...

Hi, I would really like to know what Astro Gemini means by "High quality 3D graphics" and "Photo-realistic colorful graphics" ??
In this instance NONE of them apply to define this Screensaver!

But let's ignore that nonsense and see what we get instead..
Snowy Atmosphere (for children of very small ages and " romantic suckers" like me:)), that's all.

The only way to set this Screensaver is - Snow on full throttle and graphics to 0% of gamma. This way you'll create a night time scenario (at least) and maybe the graphics will be less visible?

Yes, Astro Gemini, and sorry, but - If You cannot master better graphics (and charge for it!) - at least in Options allow our OWN Wallpaper choice of background, or in PAID version anyway! This way - You cannot go wrong?

I'm sorry GAOTD and Astro Gemini for appearing to be a party poopper, I adore "everything Winter-Christmas" really:), thanks for a Gift, perhaps my humble opinion will help to IMPROVE this Software?

I LOVE it ! What I would like to see though, is an animated wallpaper, rather than a 'screen saver'. Most monitors these days shut themselves down after a few minutes of activity, but with an animated wallpaper, people can enjoy these lovely little scenes all day long ! ;-) Thank you all, and Merry Christmas !

A nice bit of decoration for the holiday, today's Winter 3D Screensaver is by Terminal Studios -- if you happened to grab last week's free screensaver from Avanquest Germany, I think this is the same thing, though the file size is a bit smaller. As usual, in the configuration settings you may need to un-check the box for "Exit on Mouse move", to prevent the screensaver from exiting after just a moment or three. Installation puts the screensaver file in Windows' system folder, while you get a "Winter 3D Screensaver" program folder that holds a couple of uninstall files, a few web shortcuts, & a "readme.html". If you rename the screensaver file, "Winter 3D Screensaver.scr", changing the "scr" to "exe", running the file as-is will bring up the configuration dialog -- appending "/s" [without quotes] runs the screensaver. I rename these seasonal screensavers that way, setting up 2 shortcuts, 1 with the "/s", 1 without -- that way my wife can run the screensaver when she's there to see it, or just let her PC go to sleep normally if not. This Winter 3D Screensaver does need/use Direct 3D 9 graphics hardware, so performance can vary depending on your PC's/laptop's graphics. That means our ATI graphics cards come out of low power mode, using more electricity & generating [a lot] more heat [that's why we don't run these 3D screensavers when we're not there to enjoy them, the same way you turn off the light when you leave the room]. Setup adds an uninstall key to the registry, along with one for Terminal Studios. The registration key is added during install, so simply copying the screensaver file to another Windows profile, install, or PC/laptop gives you the trial version -- you need to run the GOTD setup wherever you want the Winter 3D Screensaver to run.

The size of this file on the home page is stated as 6.7MB yet here it is shown as 5.14MB...a zip file. You end up with a .exe file that is 10.1MB from either source. I scanned it with Kaspersky & Malwarebytes which found nothing. In either case I use "blank" as my screensaver, as it uses less PC resources. Don't complain of a slow computer if you add screensavers like this, LOL.

@ #10...newscreensavers.com is no longer, the domain is for sale and you will not get a screensaver free or otherwise. If anyone has free alternatives, please check first that the sites are still valid. It would save the rest of us a bit of unnecessary fooling around.

After I installed it, Threatfire warned me of a hidden process of a High threat level, which I then killed and quarantined. When I ran the program, it ran for about 3 seconds, then crashed, and my computer then went nuts. (Flashing icons, 100% cpu usage, really funny behavior, which my computer never does). Uninstalled it, and all is ok. Kind of odd behavior for a screensaver....
By the way, I have their Christmas Eve screensaver from last year, and I really like it, so I'm not sure what this experience is about.

Why does anyone still give serious consideration to WOT??? They don't even police their own site! If someone has a problem with a site, whatever that problem is, they can post whatever they like about it to give it a terrible rating and that's the rating that weighs heaviest. And the only recourse anyone has is to contact the person who gave the lousy rating and "ask if they'll change it."

Give me a break! Quit relying on sites that don't even check their own report card.

I've used these for a long time. No hijacks, no virus, no anything that would cause a problem other than you really do need the computer requirements listed. They're lovely and though I know there are many people who no longer use screensavers, if you do, this one is excellent.

Thanks, GOTD!

I don't tend to bother with screensavers because I use my computer for video and sometimes they can start up while a video is playing. I downloaded the demo of this one after the last screensaver giveaway. It seems to be one of the more interesting of their winter screensavers.

Unfortunately, most screensavers they're interesting for about five minutes. And the graphics are getting a little dated. But screensavers are intended for the times when you're not at the computer.

For this particular one, it would be nice to be able to play music from a directory of MP3 files so that you could play your own Christmas tunes. It would also be nice if the houses had lights. They can be a little dull after a while.

I can't see anyone paying $9.95 for this. Maybe if it was packaged together with a bunch of other screensavers. It's really a 99 cent program.

This one was offered before when I had my old computer with XPSP3. It was pleasant to watch and listen to, relaxing even. I might as well try it again, with Windows 7, 64 bit. Although I do like Astro-Gemini's screen savers, they often come across as rather "cartoonish", like their dinosaur one.

I'm not a fan of screensavers anymore but my 4 year old and wife will like it. I would prefer one more detailed animated screen than several scenes and angles.

My lat comment is more of a mild concern since I know GOTD has great malware screening, however, Spyware Terminator 2012 (Free) removed a file from it during installation and it STILL works which means it was an unnecessary file that was removed.
Here is the report (Ignore the last/third entry because it was from another program)

Great screensaver from Astro Gemini!! This winter scene downloaded and installed without problems using Windows 7, 64 bit. I didn't care for the clock with the seconds ticking away. I found it distracting. There is an option to remove the clock from the screen by clicking 'settings'. You can also adjust other settings such as music and sound as well. Overall nice, nice, nice quiet scenes to enjoy through the season. Thank you Astro Gemini for another great addition to your screensavers. A big thanks to GOTD for this offering. Please keep them coming!!!

#9 Weezie,

I think your problem is that you are running the Setup pgm from within you 'un-zipping' pgm, which creates a temp file that is deleted when you close the 'unzipper'. You need to extract the Setup pgm to a 'real' folder and then run it. Not sure what you mean by 'until it is time to upload it'?

Hope this helps!

Pgm installs and runs just fine on my Win7 Ult x64 system!

It downloaded and installed fine, but I did get a warning from Zemana Anti-logger that the program is recording keystrokes. Might just be because it's a screensaver, but none of my other screensavers trigger that warning.

As for the screensaver itself, it's ok. Nothing spectacular, in fact the 3D graphics aren't even high quality and look worse than some of the beginning art you can produce from a basic free 3D render engine. That is just my own personal opinion about it, others may love it. It does work fine other than the keylogger warning I got.

Downloaded and installed fine until it was time to upload it. Like ALL the other Astro Gemini screensavers, IT installs a shortcut to the desktop and when you click to open it the message: "The shortcut that this shortcut refers to has been changed..., so this ... will no longer work properly". I get the screensaver settings and click on apply then ok then everything disappears. When I go to control panel to get the screensaver settings, NO Astro Gemini screensavers!!!

I do like their screensavers and wish there was a way to fix whatever is the problem with my Vista HP x64. If someone knows how to help fix this problem, please post the answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks and Have a Nice Day :-)

Astro Gemini always make excellent screen savers. The last Halloween screensaver was a little on the boring side, where as this one seems to have been created with a little more feeling and the 3D effects go forward, backward, up and down and round and round which is really nice . The last one only went round and round like a merry go round. Thanks OGTD & Astro Gemini
