Like one of the previous versions, it still shows the wrong units, GB instead of MB. This is such a ridiculous bug that I'll give it a thumbs down.

I have some duplicates by design across HDD and multiple clouds. Also I have duplicates in LockBox. I dont want these touched.
If I wanted to remove duplicates and I sometimes do, I will use: Duplicate & Same Files Searcher, VisiPics or Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder. All freeware.

Will this find duplicate photos, & easily display them upon command?

Lau, Clonespy free and fast

With CloneSpy you can process files which
are duplicates
are duplicates having the same file name, title, or extension
have the same file name or title
have the same file name or title, and similar size
are zero bytes long
CloneSpy offers you a complete mechanism for determining which files should be
removed. It is also possible to leave this decision up to the individual user.
CloneSpy can handle equal files by
deleting redundant files
moving redundant files to a specific folder
exporting a list of all equal files without removing any files
deferring file operations on redundant files to a batch file where you can apply arbitrary file operations
replacing redundant files with shortcuts or hard links (NTFS) to retained files
With CloneSpy you can build checksum files from files on DVDs (or even on hard drives, etc.) and use them to check whether these files already exist on your system. The checksum files will prevent you from having to play DJ every time you search for duplicates!

Well.. um... the registration procedure given in the "ReadMe.txt" file included in the GOTD installation download is wrong. There IS no "License" button or link at the bottom of the program screen.
Turns out you have to click the "Upgrade to Pro" link at the top of the program screen, select "Input Key" and then TYPE IN the registration key given in the "ReadMe.txt". (It wouldn't let me Paste from the clipboard for some reason.)
Then it asks you to enter a name (twice) and then it's registered as the Pro version.

Installed without any problem on XP 64 and I like it a lot, not because of duplicate finding, which I haven't tried yet, but the really clear and easy viewing of all folder sizes, which is very helpful to me.

Thanks for your logical remark. However, I asked my question because there are now a lot of free very professional pieces of software identifying similar and identical files by various criteria (date/s/, size, contents, pixels etc.). Hence, most computer users (including myself) have already collected some kind of duplicate searchers and now seek only specific and better, not just any software of this kind. Best regards

What are the criteria available in the sofware for duplicate finding? Without this piece of information, the description (and sofware) is useless from the point of view of a prospective user.

Marek, Since nothing is stated then '*identical* to' would be what to expect. But you are right , even if it just finds *identical* files then that should be stated as being the search criteria used !

P.S.
On program home page it actually says / states that :
Key features: comparing file contents, 100% accurate result.

N/A, Thanks for redirecting me out there. From what they write on their site it appears that their software will not recognize two files as identical if the "file created/last used date" is different in either of them while all other content components are identical. What I mean is that I may have two identical files and then open only one of them, without making any changes in the file. However, the system will write the aformentioned date tag to the file and the tag will make these two files different. Today almost all free duplicate "killers" (let alone expensive software) offer an option to include or ignore file date tags as a valid search criteria.
