I just installed with no problem, after installation just click on Upgrade to Pro and select enter key then paste copied reg key into it. Bingo upgraded to pro. Just ran the default scan and it found 2.6gb of duplicates, Trouble is i noticed it is including my backup files on my usb key and SD Card. Probably a way to exclude them, but will need to explore the UI a bit more, so not fair to critisize this early. So far it does appear to work correctly including correct size in mb. Good Job Guys

Downloaded, unzipped, and ran setup. Nothing installed. No folder as noted above by support. Win10 64 bit.

John K,
I think you can directly download it from WinExt's official page, and then use the license key that provided by GOTD to register your copy.
Hope this helps.

I've just tried out the Duplicate finder, and it found some files, BUT the listed file sizes were wrong. Obviously MB sized files were listed as GB sizes, which makes the available file size filter rather useless. But it wasn't wrong with all of the found files...

M. H.,
Thanks for your comment.
We will check this (unit of size) carefully, if it is a bug, we will fix it soon.

I installed and the program starts but it is the free version. I have checked my spam folder but no license detail to upgrade to the pro version. Where is it?

RACroner,
I have also downloaded it from GOTD, the license key is stored in the readme.txt file of the downloaded .zip file.
Hope this helps.

I would like to reduce the size of my Windows and Users directories. I know there are many files and many versions of them kept for various system reasons. Does this tool help identify files that would be safe for removal? Is there any useful writeups on this that anyone is aware of? I'm interested in Win7-10 environments.

Check this out: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/know-what-software-to-uninstall-with-should-i-remove-it
I especially like the shouldiremoveit.com site referred to.

"Cannot compute size" on about half my folders, even run as admin, making this useless to me.
Since it trips on file sizes, I infer that it won't catch all file changes as well.

Rolo,
Thanks, we will check this problem for the system folders.
Hope they can be computed in the next release.

Dont know if it supposed to index my whole file system before I can get control of it or what? At the moment it is installed as the free version and is sitting there dead to any commands so I can't enter the licence key. I note from file manager that it is using lots of cpu and putting a big demand on my hard disk. I have given it 10 minutes I will give it a while more but if it doesn't become responsive soon then its uninstall. If it requires a lot of time to think then it should say what it is doing and have a countdown timer.

Radu,
Would you please send a screenshot to support@TriSunSoft.com
I want to see it is WinExt's error or GOTD installation wrapper.
Thank you.

Tobiasson,
WinExt will install in "X:\Program Files (x86)\TSS\WinExt", X = system drive.
Hope this helps.
Save | Cancel
P.S, for 32-bit OS, it will be X:\Program Files\TSS\WinExt

TriSun Software,
I think Tobiasson is referring to the tendency of GOTD programs to act as though thet have been installed when there is no actual installation. This has been quite common ever since GOTD started using their install wrapper.

dadams,
This happens for me when I do not turn off virus checker (Avast) before installing. Pgm does not install...

Ari, Interesting that a lot of people here have often said something like, "Turn off your AV before installing."
I won't query the safety issues connected with that -- all I want to know is something more basic: HOW?
How DO you "turn off" an AV programme you have running all the time??
And then, perhaps more importantly, how do you turn it back ON??
This may be a simplistic question, but I imagine there are one or two others who are similarly unaware of such niceties.
Thanks for the enlightenment (to come).

notification area on taskbar on bottom of screen shows running pgms. should be there. If not showing click small arrow to show the hidden icons. If not there, click customize to find the AV icon. Click on the icon for options such as turn off for minute, hour etc

Tranmontane, usually, the AV program has an icon in the Windows task bar. If you right click it, you might see an option to enable or disable the protection.
If not, there's always Google or the homepage of your AV provider.

Installs well, with its service.
Set up to auto start with windows, it can be changed in options.
Its layout style (tabs on the left) and colors remind me of ccleaner.
It can find duplicates on selected drives or all drives.
Shows recently accessed files and folders.
It can monitor files operation, like file monitor, and you can exclude certain folders, and select file types you want to monitor or exclude from monitoring, like .EXE.
No reason to continue, it does what it says.
Uninstalled.
