please read the description once again as the answer is indicated in bold!

Erwin,
Perhaps you didn't see the difference (in the description) referenced by the GotD team earlier, because it was covered by an ad. (The bold text is 75% covered by an ad as loaded on my computer using Chrome).
The difference between the normally free version and this GotD offer is that the regular version comes with 15 free site templates (with many more available for purchase) and this offer comes with 25 free templates... 10 more than in the non-GotD free X5 "Go" edition.

Steven Black, thanks for that recommendation. Never thought about it before.

I like to avoid using google. Sometimes you can't. But you certainly can when it comes to making websites.

Will there be a Website X5 Pro giveaway?
Save | Cancel
No, this is the newest 2020 free edition, with a special bonus here for GOTD users that is not available on the WebsiteX5 website itself. They SELL the Pro version. This free version is very usable, but there are many more features in the Pro version.

Đàm Quân,
If you click on the "Publisher" link (blue box above) you'll see that after previous GOTD offers for the "starter" version Incomedia typically holds a GOTD contest a few weeks later for the Pro version (5 winners).
That might happen again shortly if their pattern holds true.

Is this Flashplayer-based software? i.e., if Chrome and other browsers drop Flashplayer support this year, is there any point building new websites with Flashplayer-based software? All feedback and guidance are appreciated! Thanks
Save | Cancel
I don't think this is Flash based. I found a support website here:
https://webx5.pro
Lots of useful information, maybe it can help you... ciao!

Thanks for the suggestion, Robert. I checked the website, and the information is ambiguous, to say the least. There are some reports that their web sites do not work or load properly on smartphone browsers that no longer support Flashplayer, and there are a number of comments suggesting that Chrome and other browsers must be manually forced to work with Flashplayer extensions. Not sure what to make of such comments/concerns. e.g., https://help.websitex5.com/en/v13/pro/index.html?ogg_video_tab1.htm&_ga=2.27965948.1799880880.1588078235-270461443.1588078235

AnAceBuyer, I have Website X5 Pro 2020.1, and it is NOT Flashplayer-based.

This software is very good at creating small websites. This product is the little brother of Website X5 Evo. Whereas that product can create unlimited size websites, this Go version can only create 10 pages. A lot of websites these days are one long scrolling page, so that isn't a big issue. Note that this software only creates websites - it doesn't host them or provide any domain names, etc. For this, you need to contact a hosting company. There are smaller ones that allow you to host small sites very cheaply, eg, 10 GBP a year for a small site. This is something I can do but obviously can't advertise.
Note also that the Go software doesn't create responsive websites - again, you need the Evo product for this.
Finally, the Evo has more templates. For a full list of differences (and costs) see this page on their website. https://www.websitex5.com/en/pricing.php

Chris,
The website link you posted shows the Go version as free.

JK,
Based on what I read in the description at the top of this page, the Go version IS free. The "paid" benefit we are getting is access to an additional 10 templates that are not normally included with the free version of the software.

JK, "The website link you posted shows the Go version as free"
I don't think I said it wasn't free - I was pointing out the differences between the Go and Evo editions.

Chris,
Agreed. My post was not a criticism of yours. I was pointing out to everyone else that the Go version was being offered free without GOTD. As others have pointed out, the GOTD version brings some extra templates.

I really like this offer!! This is by far the most efficient way to build a website. I already had the "Start" version, offered here, and I much appreciate this new version. I strongly suggest it! ;-)
Save | Cancel
Does this have anything different or better over that "Start" version?
Save | Cancel
J, it has different templates. And the software itself is different, as that version has been release on 2017, if I'm not mistaken. Still, no responsive websites can be created, but... it's free, right?

Marco Belotti, "Still, no responsive websites can be created"
It depends on what sort of webpage you're creating. If you're creating a restaurant page, people will be viewing this on a mobile or their iPad. If you're creating a page for radio-controlled aircraft, then that could well be just desktop. Your audience matters.

It looks like a nice tool to build a web page and I shall play with it later. One thing to be aware of though is that it doesn't let you install without registering with their Help Center. I did so with my "junk" email address that I use for things like this.

Miss Icecubes, Why is this an issue?

Is there any "Control Panel" included with the free offer?
how much disk storage and bandwidth included in the free offer?
please explain in details
Save | Cancel
This CREATES webpages - it doesn't HOST webpages. There is no 'control panel', disk storage or bandwidth - this product simply creates a website. You have to have your own hosting.

Hi there, just curious,
you're offering thru GOTD free software to build website
and
Do I have to buy domain and hosting to publish my site?
how does that work?
provide some details info please.
thanks

Check with your current Internet Service Provider. They may have provided you with free web space. Otherwise you will need someone like Go Daddy. You can get free webspace if you use a search engine but it may be full of adverts.
Save | Cancel
Or there are cheap hosting companies, from about 10 GBP a year. Or under. I don't put adverts on this sort of hosting. You'd need your own domain name though...
Save | Cancel
Chris,
Best place to get a domain (IMHO) is domains.google.com - I have moved ALL my domains there - saved a ton of $$$

Canadian Gadget Man, Thats crazy. A .co.uk from there is 10 GBP a year. Thats nearly double the going rate. I'd look elsewhere.
