Tried this one; Liked this one. However.... you knew this was coming right?
The tutorial is only available online... very bothersome when you don't have interner access at home and have to get everything from the library. Hay Its free is cool.

I like this as I have had photos stolen and people taking credit for my work.

Once again we seems to have kode kiddies writing programs and offering them to the commercial world.

On two Vista machines I installed 'As an Administrator' hoping to embed the registration deeply and surely. Unfortunately, while the activation and registration worked - it worked for ONLY that administrator. It won't work for any other user. Grrrrragh!!!

An administrator is meant to control software on behalf of other users. But then those users are meant to be able to use said software.

Why can't the Factory configure their software so that it's installed properly?!?! Grrr.

A solution, please? Anyone?

I just installed WF2 with no problems, however I'm going to have to re-install xp in the near future so I installed it to one of my external hard drives. I clicked on the desktop icon and the program opened fine. Has anyone else had any luck doing this - and could this be a work around for those that know they have to re-format their HD in the near future?

Perfect, exactly what I wanted, easy to use, much better all around than the previous giveaway. To #89, you have to use the x and y coordinates to adjust placement, and resizing of the images can be done automatically or manually.

Finally a real good watermark program that I think is worth keeping. Take the time to understand all it can do and you will like it just as much as i do. Those of you that had problems I suggest you take the time to read and understand.

This program does work well and with ease oncew you have learnt how to use it.

I am happy with this little program. I have XaraXtreme and can make the embossed look watermark but what a pain that is. This watermarking program is fast and easy and I've already saved a few templates that I can use any time.

Took me around 20 or so minutes to figure this out. I'm slow so that shows how easy it would be to learn for the rest of you. I thought that I could only place the signature in 9 different places but someone above mentions entering x and y positions that will give us endless positions on the canvas. Thanks.

One of my pics was stolen and placed on a Russian site. I can't read Russian so I don't know if they were claiming it as their own or if they were just showing it. I left it there, deciding not to persue it but started putting signatures on my images after that. I like the embossed watermark even better than my signature and will use this for future images.

(a note about installation. The product description above always says to unzip and read the readme.txt before installation. I could never find the readmes because my Winzip goes straight to install. This time I right clicked on it and chose Explore. Here I found the Activation.exe, readme and setup. Like I said above, I'm a slow learner, lol.)

Thanks GAOTD

If you have Microsoft Word, google "microsoft word watermark" and click on your Word version in the hits; you will then get step-by-step how to get watermarks using your particular version of Word.

To Zanne who commented earlier on the limitations..as far as i can see..i downloaded without any trouble and played with it a bit..there is an option to resize or put anywhere..perhaps u just missed it...but its there..i think its a good program...In general i see commments why should we add watermarks (not directed to u Zanne, but to the general public)..maybe its to provide a site addy as a watermark or even those who are in the habit of sellling thru their websites..it prevents free downloading as opposed to the pay option for a bigger clearer picture..sure there are programs that will take watermarks off like photoshop or paintshop..but they will be limited to size offered with the watermark opposed to different sizes thru a website..(again the person who sells as a business thru a website) but i find it as a rule of thumb..this program and others are offered to us on certain days for free..if we don't like them...just don't use them..end of story..end of commentarys that could sound of negativism..but u will always see more positive remarks than negative..ty very much

A watermark can be small, but visble, or fullimage large and very subtle. It doesn’t always have to be in face obvious. For some, it’s a matter of knoing where and what it is, so ownership or copyright can be authentiated.

Hello Everyone! I am an amature photographer, more of a hobbiest I guess. I never leave home without my camera. I started out with a small point and shoot and have moved up to a more professional one. I have had a few professional photographers tell me that I have a great eye and I should look into selling my stuff. I have been looking for a good program to watermark my photos so no one can take them as their own. This program is going to finally allow me the confidence to submit some of my shots into contests and also start to sell them to local shops and make my own cards! Thank you GAOTD!!!

I had no problems loading, registering or running this program on Vista Ultimate 32 bit.

I found it easy to use, but a bit limiting. In the future I think it would be nice to have the ability to place your watermark where you like & at whatever size you prefer.

Other than that I like the breeze at which you can work this package.

Here's a sample I did:

Generally, I'm not one to reply to somebody else's comments but today, I see a few that are seriously written in err. I just wanted to clarify that I didn't have any of the above mentioned issues,....

Friendly Mentor, #62 You have to make & save a template. Look on the right side of the interface & you will see the two that are default, Sample is one. This also, took an extra 5 minutes to figure out.

Jmill, #72, Adding a new path to it's own folder to it's own folder is a two minute task & exactly what I wanted it to do & it did. It never overwrote a single one of mine, because I didn't let it. You just slipped. I hope you have a spare copy.

And finally,.....
Dri-Anna Davis, #75 You obviously didn't put it through it's paces because you can place the watermark just about anywhere where you want it! Theres standard locations that can be changed simply by typing in a different value in either or both, the X & Y offset, Then theres a knob for rotation. You can use any font installed on your computer and changing it's size and, or color in 2 clicks. I recommend you try again because your comment is big time, "MISLEADING". It took me all of 20 minutes to figure out how to do all these things & if I had somewhere to post just a few of the things Ive done, you would clearly see just how mistaken you are.

This is a good piece of software thats extremely friendly to a new user. Unlike some others, I had exactly zero issues installing, activating or using this give away. In fact, I find it to be one of the better give aways I've found here in slightly over a year of daily visits. I'm using 32 bit, Vista Ultimate.

When you put one (or more) of your pics on the web, you basically supply a means for the rest of the world to download it. When you can see the picture you already downloaded it. Nothing can keep you from stealing it but your own principles.
Tricks to keep people from taking the picture only disencourages a few people that do not know how to work around that trick. Lenny_B #27 is very much wrong, there simply doesn't exist a way to make stealing impossible. My hopes are on your principles, we make this world together.
Watermarking at least makes it unattractive to steal a picture, but tools like 'inpaint' oct. 7th on this site could be used to overcome this unattractiveness.
Only when a picture is complex, traces will be left (and very hard to remove) on reversal of the watermarking (though not always very visible).
So watermarking is the better way of protecting your pictures, though not perfect.
Another way is encrypting text in your picture. This is not visible but provides a means to prove the picture is yours (only you have the password that reveals the hidden en encrypted text)
For the latter see http://www.softplatz.com/freeware/encrypt-text-file/

This watermark software I am sure does what it says but I believe it has a limited audience. But for them I think it is great.

but.....

Is it only me? Or do some of you also get a laugh at some of these comments from so called "professionals".

Doesn't matter what they are, Pro photographers , Graphic artists, editors, webmasters etc. You get the point.

They rave about a particular software. How it is just what they needed, as they make a living with large volumes of photos or webmasters building highly graphical sites.

I could go on with other examples but.....nah.

Do "professional" people in any field rush to GOTD to find valuable software that they can't live without. They don't know how they lived without it.

I mean do they not make enough to afford some mainstream quality proven software. They have to wait to find free software to do their job. I don't know guess it's just me. Sure makes me laugh.

GOTD is an interesting place and can be quite a lot of fun to see what comes next. And no disrespect to the true professional people, as I do, come here and see what is offered. There are some highly skilled people that come here and offer some great insight. The real professional in my mind.

Ah well , they tell me laughing is good for the soul

I raise expensive dogs and have a website displaying them and the pups I have raised. Many times people will steal the pictures, and claim they have raised them, or will offer them for sale, scamming the buyer by sending something substandard, or nothing at all. Anyone can steal any picture by simply doing a snapshot. Removing a watermark is more difficult and most won't bother.
Thanks GOTD!!!

Hi folks, my name is haquarius which means top hacker from Croatia.

Well, watermarking is the only way to protect your slides, ppt's, etc. I was amazed when saw fractions of my presentations, even on IEEE conferences, elsewhere...

Second thing is, fast install is perfect, now we have firewalls, spyware, antivirus, adware working on modest machines, it can take you lifetime before install..

Use this great tools and make the best of it, it is easy to say, Gosh, this is the feature(s) I do not like, I dislike this, then this, then that, ... forget it... say thanks to those who provide it, no one provides a single tool, that pleases everyone? Do you? Can you?

I doubt.

Thanks GAOTD.

Been awhile since I have felt the need to post on an offering from GATOD. As of late, it has been a matter that I already have something else which fits my way of doing things.

I did spend near 40 minutes putting Watermark Factory 2 through its' paces.

Pro's:
Watermark Factory 2 is an excellent piece of software for folks who just want to get the job done. (with a caveat)...
Provides a easy learning experience in using a Batch Option...
It will do what the Sibental folks indicate it will do. Sibental is a Company I would trust and they seem eager to provide support if needed...
A good piece of software for Newbie to mid Basic Level being drop over easy to perform the tasks it will do. The help file is easy to follow and they use "Red" colored arrows to illustrate what is being accessed...
And.... does not intimidate the new user as many Photo Editor do...

Con's:
Not being able to place your Watermark where you want to place it, is a BIG negative and not acceptable to me. Here is a good tool that could be an near perfect, but, is lacking the important feature of allowing the user to place the Watermark where they wish...
This would NOT be an item I would purchase. The price of $49.00 is rather steep for, for all intents and purposes, what this application can do. I can update my Photo Editor for that price....

In closing, I would say give this piece of software a trial drive. Which leads me to an annoyance... There are always messages here from folks asking other folks to do the hands-on checking it out thingie'. What I like, you might not like. What one means when they say, "This piece of software works fine for what I need"..... NOT! What you Need. You have try it to find out if it is going to work fine for you. Besides, if you always want others to do the testing for you, your computer literacy will remain in the tank.
Nough' Said

PEOPLE... I can't believe how many people complain and/or give a program negative feedback because they do not have a use for the software. The GREAT!!!!! thing about GOTD is the wide-variety of software that they give away, from user-specific software like MagicScore School 5 or watermarking software to general-user software like StarBurn and PDF-To-Word. The more people they attract the better for all of use. I am even more astonished by people who tell GOTD that they have gone downhill or could do better. WAKE UP PEOPLE, Its FREE!!!!!! It don't get much better then that. I will be the first to admit that GOTD does not have a program that i like or need and a daily basis, sometimes two or three days in a row, but i just close my browser and wait patiently and excitedly till the next day, and the next giveaway.

Now about today's giveaway, after using it I can tell in the first 2 minutes that it is much much easier to use then the batchimage watermarker program given away last week. I am an amateur photographer and submit my photos top contests and have a need for this software. The batchimage watermarker does have some more advance features, but the learning curve is definitely higher. I will keep both and hope to figure out the batchimage watermarker, but until then i will use Watermark Factory 2!!!

One downside is that unless you want to save it to a different folder, it saves the file in the same folder and overwrites the original. The nice thing about batchimage watermarker is that it can save the image into the same folder with a slightly different file name so the original is not overwritten.

Of all the watermark programs offered through GOTD in the past few months, this is by far the most polished and feature rich. It features an easy learning curve and yet has many options with which you can play. For those people complaining that Photoshop does the same thing, you're wrong ... neither Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, or Gimp allows you to process batches of images like this progam does. This makes a time consuming chore suddenly so much quicker and easier, and should be of interest to both website managers and photographers. Thanks!

Oddly enough, I can't get this to activate on my Windows XP computer. Wonder what went wrong with this? I will uninstall and try again. This is not good.

Don't know if anyone will read down this far, but I would use this software.. I make paper craft items using copyrighted images... it's allowed but it has to have the copyright on the item - I use a stamp on the back of the item. For photos of them, we use watermarks. And yes, we like to share our creations online with other people who like the craft of rubber stamping. I find it annoying that just because YOU (generic you) don't find it a useful program, doesn't mean someone else isn't looking for this exact piece of software.

I wish the thumbs up/down indicated whether the software did what it was supposed to without issues, and did it well (or not) and not if you personally find it useful or would use it.
